Mokong
I'm looking to get a portable harddrive for my laptop, mostly for storing video and music files. I kinda remember reading somewhere that there are different types for desktops and laptops, so figured i should ask here if someone can tell me what to look for, for use with a laptop and if there's any models or other recomendations anyone might have. Size wise i'm think 120GB should be enough?
Slaggis
How's this one, the size is pretty portable. Or there is a 80GB one on there thats extremely portable, i.e pretty damn small.
Emasher
If you want portable you could always just buy an 80 or 160 gig iPod classic and set it up to do data, then you would also have the iPod (though it would be more expensive)

Mokong
You could get this and save money and get more space. ah, that's tempting, but i just remembered something (Seagate 500GB FreeAgent Desktop / 3.5" external USB 2.0 Hard Drive) I can't remember where but i think i read somewhere that a 3.5" won't work on laptops that it has to be 2.5" whatever that means... or is my memory making things up? Mr_Odwin
That would likely be the case for an internal HDD, but not at all for external.
Shorty
External you will connect by USB so size is not relevant. Tesco have some nice prices like this 500GB for £99 http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-0324.aspx
