There was an Outrunners released in 1992, I assume thats what he meant. It was pretty good.

The life of a ninja is tough and unremitting. Here he can be seen attempting one of the most difficult of ninja tasks - 'crossing a stream in a park'. If he so much as touches that water, it's instant death.

Nope, here's some more info: It's in the era of the Speccy/Amstrad. A game with one word beginning with 'S'. You control a ninja, moving from static screen to static screen.
