Is there a catch?
Nope!

I've even been into the store to check and they said it was an awesome offer they couldn't match in-store.

Basically you set up a direct debit (like any other contract) and £40 is taken out of you account every month. In months 6, 8, 10 and 12 of the 12 month contract, you are sent through a chequeback form which you must fill in and send back to claim your money back.

So each of the 4 installments sees you claim back 1/4 of the £480 contract.

The only problem would be if you forgot to send off a chequeback form.

Phone the freephone number if you don't quite get it, or can't believe it!

I phoned it and they talked me through how it works and explained how they can afford to do it.

Such an great deal!

thats not that great a deal, people been doing deals like this for ages!
Who are these people?

And don't argue for the sake of it!

Even if it's not something new, how does that stop it being a great deal?

A free phone, with 500 minutes and 500 texts is always a great deal!

Plus it's through a leading phone store.

I'm just saying...there are places in the backs of the papers that do these and you get stuff like free 360's! its been around for while, they make their money cos u still have to pay for it and then they refund you, in the mean time they collect all the interest and hope that people forget to send them off everytime.

I'm sure you could get one with a better phone if you shopped around thats why I said I didn't think it was a great deal...not just for the sake of it!

Yeah there are adverts in papers and there are loads of websites that offer free 360's, Wii's, PSP's, TV's etc... but they always look like they're dodgy and you don't really know who you are dealing with.

This is what makes this one different, it's with phones4u!

yeah point taken, i got one once from one out of the back of the paper years ago and we got a free dvd player, both phone and dvd player still working fine...my step mum now has the phone and pays like £1.99 a month for some ridiculous amount of texts and minutes...

Just wondering it's pretty vague but is it a 12 month contract?

This good be pretty good since I've got a really old SE T610. :(

Retro Link it's actually 3000 texts a month.

haha, dam! It wasn't when I ordered, it was 500 texts a month, however the phone I ordered is no longer there so I wouldn't have been able to get it with 3000 texts anyway. 500 is more than enough for me though.

It was a 12 month contract, but it looks like the new 500 minutes 3000 texts offer may be an 18 month contract.

did YOU rad my post preoprly?

If you read through the thread you'll notice the offer has now changed. The first online deal was 12 month contract, 12 months free. Now it's 18 month contract, 12 months free, but more texts.

See now they've changed it that makes it even more standard, you could walk into a high street store and get a similar deal probably with more minutes...
