How Good was Brookside

With Jimmy Corkhill, Ron Dixon, Jaqui Corkhill, Lindsay, Murray Family and not forgetting Sinbad!

Seriously it was un-believeable, the best show on tele in a long time and they stopped it.

Crazy Jimmy was the best, going through the Mersey tunnel to get to Newcastle, Rofls...

Brookside was ace! Always watched it discreetly at the time, so my mum didn't know I was watching an 'adult' soap. My best and most remembered story from the show, is when Bar Brookie blew up due to a gas leak. Made me paranoid about gas at the time!

The actor who plays Jimmy Corkill is acting at my local theatre's pantomine this Christmas. Defo gonna go see, and try and grab an autograph :heh:

Is it true that Jimmy Corkhill is gay and is seeing Fred The Weatherman off This Morning...

Or is that an Urban Myth :|

Either way it was amazing, and when Bar Brookie blew up that grabbed my attention so badly, especially when they where gonna cut Sinbad's arm or leg off to get to Kylie!

My response to this thread is an impression of The Scousers from Harry Enfield:

(Puts on Scouse accent) "Y'wot? Y'wot? Y'wot"

I never watched it, as I didn't and I still don't care about soaps because all we Midlanders had was Crossroads, and that was naff, especially the new version, which was all a dream, A FECKIN' DREAM!

Do all Scousers love Brookside like all Brummies love Ozzy Osbourne?

I don't know to be honest, the general consensus is if you didn't like the program you at least shared some love for Jimmy Corkhill.

I loved Brookie, it was the Scouse "Lost"

Sinbad was always my favourite, and now he's in Coronation Street! Who cares if he's playing a different character, he's still fat and jolly and that's what counts :) Coronation Street is really the only soap I watch, couldn't be bothered with the rest.

Brookside was actually pretty awesome; and although it lost its way towards the end, I remember thinking it was pretty good (as a kid), and it kept with characters instead of having all new ones ever month *cougheastenderscough*; though the old Eastenders were better from what I remember. Never watched it really the last few years.

All soaps bar Neighbours and Hollyoaks should be cast into heeeelllllllllllla!

Every time Hollyoaks comes on to the TV, I feel like violently assaulting the cast members. I have such a deep hatred for that show, and I don't even know why.
