ghost_zero
Hi, is there any news about the FreeLoader for Wii for Wii Games? Will it still be made or was it dropped? If it is still being made is there anything known when this will possibly get released?

Cube
I want to play my US Mario Golf on my UK Wii. *cry* You mean the GameCube Mario Golf? Theres a Wii-Compatable GameCube freeloader out, and you can use the GameCube Action Replay if you swap disks fast enough.
Shorty
I haven't heard anything about it for a long time, and as usual there's no updates on Codejunkies' site and their forums are down. I remember hoping it would be out by the time Naruto Shippuuden: GNT EX was out, way back in February, so much for that Perhaps it'll be out by the time the second, and hopefully much improved, title is with us. Shorty
Aye i was tempted but cant they just update the filmware to stop it working?I think this is generally considered to an over-spread assumption. Basically, they updated the BIOS of the gamecube booter for the Wii to match the latest edition of it that was available on the Gamecube, which was the one on the pearl-white 'cube. After that they really have no reason to update the GC BIOS anymore, so I doubt they'll put effort into it. I've been using the Wii-compatible Freeloader for months now with no problems
ghost_zero
For Gamecube games freeloader: As far as I know the GameCube BIOS is stored on an unmodifyable ROM-Block...Furthermore they problably can't block it from the Wii itself because Gamecube discs are handled differently.... And also they don't have any reason for doing so... I mean Freeloader works on their gamecubes and I don't think there will be any more Gamecube games... For a Wii games freeloader: That depends on how it works and also you could make the FreeLoader updateable itself too...

I was hoping it would of been out about June so when I went to America I could up games like Super Paper Mario. But doesn't look like that will happen. Also wasn't there some sort of thing you plugged in the Wii and claimed that it could play imports and DVDs? Wonder what happened to that. If a good Wii mod chip comes out first,i'll get that. ghost_zero
Will it even came out this year? I mean region free through modchips seem to work already but I don't like it to use modchips...

I would get a mod-chip but I really don't want to solenoid anything to the Wii's board, and the chips that are out don't work with every import game yet. I'm hoping for something by the end of the year though.

I'm hoping for something by the end of the year though. The same reason why I don't got a modchip yet - because of it not all import games are working and becuase I don't want to sold anything... I will only buy one if all or nearly all games - at least all games I want - will work and if there is no chance for a Freeloader becuase I hate to solder anything to the Wii's board (although I think it is the Wii's drive here), especially because you loose your guaranty after that... DCK
I want to play my US Mario Golf on my UK Wii. *cry*There's a (completely legal) trick to do it without FreeLoader, with some quick fingers. You can find all about it in this thread. Some games work better than others, but even if you can't boot up a game the trick allows you to use old FreeLoaders on the Wii so you can boot them up. It works with Tales of Symphonia and F-Zero GX, at any rate.
Skitter2.9
I remember that someone sent a mail to Datel asking is a Wii freeloader was coming or even possible. If I remember correctly the answer was apparently that it was possible and in development. I'll see if i can find it. Edit: kotaku Here in the comments of "WAB Determined to hack the Wii": peace:
