Posted May 12, 2007 Ok heres the setup: i have 3 x 500gb s-ata2 disks. All exactly the same manufacturer, and even model. My OS is on a smaller 200gb sata2 disk. And i want to use a raid of some form. So: 1. Is hardware raid better than software raid? 2. Which raid would work the best? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Raid0 for speed, Raid1 for safety depending on what you want. There are a few more options but I guess for the common user those two are more than enough. Just watch for cluster size of your partition and the strip size of your raid setup - otherwise your CPU will suffer. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
