Raining_again
Ok heres the setup: i have 3 x 500gb s-ata2 disks. All exactly the same manufacturer, and even model. My OS is on a smaller 200gb sata2 disk. And i want to use a raid of some form. So: 1. Is hardware raid better than software raid? 2. Which raid would work the best? Raid0 for speed, Raid1 for safety depending on what you want. There are a few more options but I guess for the common user those two are more than enough. Just watch for cluster size of your partition and the strip size of your raid setup - otherwise your CPU will suffer.
