Not out this year but I just watched it last week - The Life Aquatic. A jolly good film with a star studded cast

Cinema-wise what about Mission Impossible 3? X-Men 3 and Superman Returns? Very decent efforts. Ice Age was good, but maybe not great.

Bond would not get my vote : peace:

Just so everybody is clear, V for Vendetta was out last year (2005) and sucked noodles compared to the original comic book. Last year.

I'm afraid my cinema ticket says 19/03/06. I haven't read the graphic novel but I thought as a film, it was pretty darn good.

Casino Royale and Devil Wears Prada-the two films this year i have seen multiple times and are well worth getting on DVD ASAP.

Either Casino Royale or... Cars.

Borat gets an honourable mention.

Was the 50 Cent film this year? I saw it and it was absolutely terrible (my friends wanted to see it, I was out voted).

It's got to be Munich. I went to see it with a good friend; didn't say a word for two minutes after we left the cinema. Very powerful, and certainly underrated, muchlike many of Spielberg's recent films.

Casino Royale and Walk the Line were also excellent.

V for vendetta was last year, oh, and thanks for reminding me, my vote goes to Pirates of the Caribbean instead :).

Really? Could have sworn it was this year?

The film's release was originally scheduled for Friday, November 4, 2005 (a day before the 400th Guy Fawkes Night), but was delayed; it opened on March 17, 2006

Two of those three really sucked. Or just for me?

Superman was excellent up to the ending though.

Actually, I Just remembered United 93 was out this year. By far and away the best film I've seen in a very, very ,long time. It knocked the wind out of me. Truly remarkable work.

I saw this awesome film about Capote in the British Film Festival called 'Infamous' and Danial Craig is also in it! lol!

Really good film, go see it when it is on general release...I didn't see that other Capote film so I can't compare, but this film was funny and moving!

Children of Men.

Children of Men is a great film. Loved the whole concept.

I also have to say Casino Royale.

I've seen a lot of great films this year but I've recently enjoyed Pan's Labyrinth and The Prestige.
