  1. They're way too small, they're going to be too difficult to use!

I'll take all four, please.

I wonder if the games will be different for the Western release.  I don't think we ever got a Last Bible game over here, though America did.

Haha. I wasnt to build something. But I suspect this will be a special dedicated set, and we'll still get the Peach's Castle for the builders.

This isn't a single set.  This is likely the combining of all the sets they're producing.

Bit gutted there's no minifigures.  But maybe next time.

  3. They've always seemed so reluctant to work with Lego in the past.  When ideas have gone through Lego Cuusoo/Ideas in the past they've always been closed down because of a pre-existing relationship with Knex.

I don't think we'll get much though.  Maybe just a couple of Super Mario sets rather than an entire series.

  4. Time for a reminder I think.

You will not be able to spend Wii Shop Points past Thursday 31st January 2019.

And at some point in 2019 the ability to redownload will be removed too.  So remember to get everything downloaded, backed up on SD cards and, if you can, back up your NAND.

I've got 10,000 points to use so I had better get planning.

  5. So I got this for Christmas (paid around £20 for it) and I’ve played it for a few hours today.  So far I’m enjoying it and I don’t really understand the flak it’s been getting.  Would it have been better without all the toys to life gubbins and instead with a normal progression unlock tree?  Yeah, it probably would have. I quite like having having Arwing model though.  It’s nicely sculpted and the painting is quite good.

Weirdly it reminds me of Mass Effect Andromeda which, considering it’s not on the Switch, isn’t an entirely bad thing.

The inclusion of StarFox is a nice bonus and it does make you wonder if Nintendo would let Ubisoft make an entire StarFox game using the tools.

Ok, has anyone come against the Rayman spirit yet? Stamina battle, increased speed Sonic with an automatic assist trophy and higher starting stamina. God damn impossible. First time I've considered lowering the difficulty to normal. Any tips?

Yeah I couldn’t do it so I’m leaving it until I’ve levelled my spirits up higher.  Similarly, very near to the Rayman one actually, there’s Boss (Metal Gear Solid) who has a 14000 rating who I’m yet to beat.

While I’m on the subject of World of Light, I’m actually enjoying it loads more than I expected to.  Some of the interpretations of the Spirits using the playable characters, stages and rule sets are really imaginative.  The Street Fighter mini area especially.  Considering I’ve heard this be called the weakest link in the game, I hope people actually give it a chance.

I didn’t expect any third party characters to be part of the Fighter Pass so I’m a bit surprised over Joker (Persona 5) being included.  I guess that’s fine though, nice to have a bit of variety. I guess the stage/music in that release will be Persona related too.  Considering the recent rumours, I’ll be a little bit miffed if it’s used as a form of advertising for the release of Persona 5 though.

  7. Enjoying playing this much more than I expected to.  When it was announced alongside a 'main' Pokemon game I thought we'd be getting a really watered down version.  I think the 'main' game will be the same as Let's Go but with the catching changed to include fights again (and retaining the throw your own Pokeball mechanic).  Then the Candys will be replaced with EVs again.

I do have one nitpicky Issue with the game.  The button prompts don't follow the Nintendo-standard way of showing them.  So A is named rather than it being the "right on the diamond" icon.  In a similar vein, the button prompts remain the same even when you're playing with the Pokeball (or two player).  Would it be so difficult to replace Y prompts with the Pokeball icon with wavy lines either side to show shake?  Also shake doesn't always equal Y.  For example, in battle you can't check move info.

  8. I went from not caring at all to being massively interested in this based on the trailer.

I love how creepy the Pokemon look. Is that intentional or a side effect of the style they’ve gone for?

Not gonna lie if this goes well I’m going to be screaming for a Metroid film.

  9. I've been stuck in this rut for about the past 8 years... so since about 2010.  That was my second year of uni doing Computer Science which means I spent pretty much all day looking at screens and by the time I got home I didn't really want to look at another one.  As soon as I finished uni I went straight into being a Developer so I never got back into it.  I do still play games occasionally but after about an hour I start to think "I could be doing something else" and so I stop.

The Switch, and 3DS, is getting used quite a lot because in portable mode it means I can play while doing something else or just while commuting on the bus.  I'm also pretty happy with room scale VR too as I don't get the feeling of wasting time.

I still love being involved in the conversation so I still buy the consoles and the games with the intention of playing them some day.  Starting to force myself to wait until the games are cheaper now too because there's no point buying a game at full price to not play it.

But now, and I think this is simply because I'm getting old, even the conversation is starting to be a bit grating.  N-Europe is the only forum I still frequent.  Everywhere else seems to be online-this, battle royale-that, twitch streamer-did-this, false nostalgia and esports-are-a-thing.  None of those things are bad (except maybe the false nostalgia) but they're just not for me.

  10. The situation is pants and a lot of people have lost their jobs and this announcement is unlikely to get a lot of these jobs back.  So I'm not going to get over excited about this.

It is nice to see the series get finished though.  I wonder if Skybound have bought the entire toolset, so if they wanted to, they could make more games in the same vein.  With the studio being created by Kirkman, I can see this sort of interactive storytelling being attractive to them.

    Yep, I have! :bouncy:

It now says this on the product page:

This is a pre-order item. Your payment method will only be charged once the product has shipped.

I wonder if that's why the money has been returned.  Though they'll struggle to charge the card again now.

I didn't even get that far, after the poor implementation of adding a delivery address I just gave up.

They should have tied it into the Nintendo Store UK instead, at least that works.

If they are reverting payments for the controllers... that doesn't inspire much confidence, maybe they somehow didn't make enough despite limiting it to subscribers?

The whole thing has been a bit pants really.  When it actually let me add them to basket it was a chore to get through the sales funnel and then at the card details part, it failed every time for about three days.  I received no emails saying I'd even made an order, and there's no account section online, but I'm unable to add another set to basket and they'd taken my money so I thought I was set.  But no.

  13. Really unimpressed by this.

Can only play using motion controls in a single mode, why?  Tennis is one of the few games where motion controls work really well and it's limited to a single mode.  Saying that, even in this mode I can't seem to understand how to hold the JoyCon.  The image before hand seems to suggest the blank edge (without L/R) is the rear of the racket, but I just can't seem to get it to do anything I want it to do.

Adventure mode, so far, seems to be pointless and act as an extended tutorial.  Why was this featured so prominently when originally announced?

Why can't I just jump into a normal game of tennis?  Unless I'm missing something I can only do weird tie-break-esque version.

Yeah in game, so if you press home you lose connection.  Not perfect but better than we've got with Splatoon!

Just a correction, this is coming in a patch on Thursday. On the stream they made it sound like it was available now.
