  1. Playstation 5 Console Discussion

For peeps who have got a PSVR: https://camera-adaptor.support.playstation.com/en-gb I don't know if I completely missed it but I had no idea they'd launched the site to request one yet.
  2. Playstation 5 Console Discussion

Mine has been despatched from Amazon too. Though it's currently in Leicester and I'm Birmingham-way. Looks like it'll be an evening drop if it manages to come today.
  3. Playstation 5 Console Discussion

Still no despatch email from Amazon for me either. And after last week's Xbox Series X fiasco, I'm not holding much hope out for getting it tomorrow.
  4. Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.

It's got a very nice crisp screen on it. Much better than I expected. I wonder what the resolution is on it, I googled but can't find anything.
  5. Xbox Series S | X Console Discussion

So Amazon never did get the Xbox Series X to me on release day. But I did have access to another so I used that instead. It's probably bad but I too have enjoyed playing original Xbox games and Xbox 360 games more than anything else on it so far. It probably doesn't help that I have a 3080 in the PC so the Xbox One and Xbox Series X games aren't anything special to me. I'm well aware that's on me though. The 3080 by itself costs 50% more than the Xbox Series X. Reading that back it sounds like I'm being really down on it, but I'm not! I can not understate how much I've enjoyed playing the Xbox and Xbox 360 games. It's even improved over the Xbox One X experience. I really hope they open up the BC to more games moving forward. I wish they'd update the Games & Apps filter so that by console type didn't group Xbox and Xbox 360 together and also split out Xbox One X enhanced from Xbox One.

Amazon are still saying mine is on track for today... but they've still not despatched it...
  7. Pikmin 3 Deluxe

Anybody else pick this up yesterday? It’s just as good as it was on the Wii U with the added bonus that it seems to load a lot faster. Gyro pointer control works fine. Not as accurate as with the Wiimote for obvious reasons but it’s totally usable. One slight complaint would be that it’d be good if you could set Joy-Con connected controls separate to unconnected Joy-Con controls. Gyro pointer works fine when the Joy-Cons are detached but when they’re attached it’s very awkward and it totally disables the cursor movement with the right analogue stick. So basically similar to what @Londragon above found.
  8. But that's really not the best way to go about it. Surely hobbling the systems main feature of being a portable that can be played anywhere by tethering it to a good internet connection is a bad thing. We're about to get a Doom Eternal port, it's not like with hard work and some compromises it's not possible to port current games. I'd rather have some graphical compromises than a tethered streaming rental.
  9. So who is actually running the servers behind these games? Is it Nintendo or the publishers? Either way I am not cool with this trend. Yeah you could say "then just don't buy it" but they're actively stopping development of native ports by their very existence. What if Bethesda or ID had gone "Nah, let's just stream the game" for Skyrim or Doom? No more playing them outside and there are much better options than the Switch when it comes to playing docked for these games. The new Monster Hunter game is running on the newer RE engine so I was really hoping for a RE2/RE3 port, but that's gone now.
  10. Wasn't expecting this at all. I guess they chose this over the DS remake because it'd be awkward to release that version on the Switch with it's screen/button setup. Hate to say this but I really wish they'd done a 3D All Stars on this and released this Famicom port with Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance from the GameCube. The cost to pick that game up is through the roof!
  11. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit (16th October)

So I've been playing this all weekend and I can still say I'm enjoying it. Made a track across three rooms and as long as I was in the middle room I had no connection problems. This is with solid interior walls, so if you've got stud walls you could probably get even more distance out of it. The battery life is great! I've not played with an RC car for a while but I don't remember them ever lasting this long. It travelled over hard floors, carpets, a thin rug and carpet door cover strips with ease, even on 50cc. Your mileage may vary but I ended up smashing into the gates more than the cats did, so having pets is not a dead stop to getting this. I did have to stop playing before I wanted to though as the cats were getting way too hyped up from chasing it. I really like how the different cups change the environment that you race in. The gates gain a new look and different obstacles, the screen gets an overlay effect (e.g. underwater) and the handling changes. I don't know why but I wasn't even expecting to see cups like in a standard Mario Kart game. There are a few things I'd like changed (or more like three things I'd like polished and one I'd like changed): I accidentally made a track with a hairpin corner so tight I had to stop and reverse to get around it. It'd be nice to have a warning after you've done this to confirm you actually want to do that. It'd be nice to use the gates to make a point to point race. I'm guessing at the moment it's not possible because the track could end up being very short but the option to do it would be nice. You can't take screenshots or video while playing the game. I'm guessing this is a Nintendo being over cautious thing because of the camera but let it be a toggle option in the settings or something. This is why I've not included any footage in this post. The virtual racers are completely unaffected by real world obstacles. I'm not sure if this is even changeable with the hardware inside the kart, but it leads to frustration so I've got to mention it. When I said that I made a corner too tight, it wasn't too tight for the virtual racers who just glided through my sofa and chair. It also means that sometimes you'll run into things because you're following close behind a virtual racer that you fail to see they've passed through a real object.
  12. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit (16th October)

So I managed to get one from Argos. It’s so much fun to play but it will very much depend on the space you’ve got. So many gameplay elements straight from Mario Kart. One thing to watch for is drifting though. Obviously it’s different because it’s a physical kart so you have to ‘forget’ how you drift in Mario Kart to get the hang of it. Also there’s no holding items behind you, I wonder if that’s because in two player there’d be no visible clue that the person was defending? My two cats love chasing Mario as he drives around.
  13. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit (16th October)

Against my best judgement I took a chance on Base and they have let me down. They let me know today at 3:30pm, so I can't even find somewhere to get it delivered for tomorrow now.
  14. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit (16th October)

This looks so cool. I can't wait to get it. That track builder though! Nakes me want Mario Kart Maker so that people can enjoy it without needing the space and the gubbins.
  15. Rocket League

https://support.rocketleague.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041075973-How-do-I-Play-Rocket-League-in-Split-Screen-on-Nintendo-Switch- So currently split screen has been removed from the Switch version. This isn't cool when it was one of the features it was advertised with before I paid money for it. Is it bad I'd have rather they renamed it Rocket League 2 and made that free to play while leaving the existing paid one as is?
  16. My Nintendo ( Club Nintendo Successor )

Can get Mario 35th Anniversary Splatfest keychains now using platinum points but at £8 delivery. Is anybody going to bother? https://my.nintendo.com/rewards/3b53e0f5bc3defc7
  17. Super Mario 3D All-Stars (RIP)

I wonder what Galaxy is like when compared to the ones released in China for the NVIDIA Shield. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2018-super-mario-galaxy-hands-on-with-tegra-x1s-wii-emulator
  18. 3DS eShop Thread

https://delistedgames.com/rodea-the-sky-soldier-leaving-3ds-wii-u-eshop-september-30th/ Just a warning that Rodea is about to be delisted. So is Etrian Mystery Dungeon. Actually worth keeping an eye on that website I’ve linked to. I only discovered it through Forza Horizon 3 being delisted.
  19. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit (16th October)

I almost ordered both sets before realising that to play multiplayer you'd need two Switches as well! It looks very cool but part of the fun of Mario Kart is the multiplayer.
  20. Pikmin 3 Deluxe

At least those of us who supported them during the Wii U era have got Star Fox Zero, right guys? Edit: For clarification now that I've calmed down, I'm not annoyed with them porting these great games to the Switch so more people can play them. Just that, for us (and I guess that's most of us here), these are re-hashes sold at full retail price. It leaves a sour taste.
  21. Pikmin 3 Deluxe

Pikmin 3 was great on the Wii U but it was really well suited to the two screen setup. Action on screen controlled using Wiimote for pointer controls and then the map on the gamepad. It was really fun. They're quick to mention what's new but this is one of those occasions when we've lost stuff too.
  22. Yeah all fine now. They fixed it within 48 hours. So it was a good CS experience.
  23. Just an update on this in case anybody else is getting Error 9101. You have to contact Pokemon Support to get it fixed. I asked them if it was anything I'd done on my end and if there were steps to avoid it in the future and they said no.
  24. Digital for both Sword and Shield. Both installed and fully up to date. Pokemon Shield has the DLC. Yep I have an active Switch Online subscription. It's very strange and it seems like this 9101 error only started this week. It's only just starting to pop up on the internet.
  25. Pokemon Home is still dead for me. Deleted and reinstalled the app on Switch, it didn’t fix it.
