  1. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Managed to move along a few chapters today. Found one annoying thing though. How do you manually restart a chapter in the middle of a game? There used to be a Suspend option that saves your progress temporarily and gives you the option to exit the game. In Normal mode, it's replaced with Battle Save, which is basically the same, but the save is permanent. However, Im not given the option to return to the title screen. So I either reset the game or let the main characters die. Any tips?
  2. Has Nintendo really lost it?

I wonder if Nintendo is leaving the gap open for third parties to fill they obviously left open. Last year, we all focused on SMG and MP3. This year they only got Wii Music and AC. Will you be starting to look at what EA, Ubisoft, Activisions etc. has to offer? I, for one, may be more likely to purchase COD5 now...
  3. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

I finally decided to buy this game. I've been waiting to play for it since last year. Bought it together with Smash. Im knew it would be great and yup, I was instantly hooked again. Brought over the stats from GC's Path of Radiance. So far, only done the first few chapters. As far as i know, this game consists of four main sections, each divided in around 10 chapters. So.. it should last you for a while
  4. Colour me interested in this title. It seems to be using an enhanced version of the RE4 engine. Im fine with that. That engine was great. Still to this day, Im amazed how good RE4 looked like. The controls sounds very much like the Wii version of that game too, so that sounds good. The character models look really good in some (seem like cinematics), while the in-game ones are rather low quality. I hope they really put a lot of effort in this game. We need more devs to push the envelop.
  5. Wii MotionPlus- 1:1 add on

Wow. Like... WOW! I thought this was fake, I was waiting for the Microsoft press con to start, then saw this news headlining all over the place. So indeed, a new peripheral then. I guess we'll see the new games for this peripheral tomorrow. Awesome! Questions are arising though. How can they have this in as many home as quickly as possible. The balance board is doing fine so far, since Wii Fit is the second Wii Sports. Lots and lots of people are eating it up. This peripheral sounds more suited for the core audience. Certainly intriguing!
  6. The Conduit

Video is pretty impressive. Much better than the screens released so far. I like how they go all out on this game. Controls wise, it's amazing how much effort they put into it. Even adding customizable stuff! What has me worried though, is a so-so art direction. Technically it's great, artistically, im not that wowed. I hope the storyline is good and compelling, cuz so far it sounds rather cliché. But as long as it plays good and controls well, I'm all up for this game. I want to support them!
  7. Fatal Frame 4

This game is looking so great. Highly polished, great character models, lighting. It's got it all. Having Suda51 and Nintendo in the mix certainly spices things up. Hopefully Nintendo will put major focus on this title at E3. It deserves the attention.
  8. Castlevania Judgement

Tbh, i starting to quite like the idea of a Castlevania fighting game. They have so much legacy to pull from, it's gotta a be fan's dream. Truth be told, I would have liked a 2D or 3D adventure title. But i'll definitely eat this up. Good or bad. What worries me most though, is the fact it's motion controlled. It's a lot of waving and waggling. It's like buttong mashing again, but worse. Shake nunchuk to dodge? That's not gonna work 4 of 10 times. It'll only frustrate the experience. I bet Konami is gonna show it off at E3, show we'll have a better look at it then. Can't wait to see how it pans out.
  9. Castlevania Judgement

What a surprising act. Totally unexpected. Im trying to keep an open mind to it, as it's definitely a new direction for the series. I do have my doubts for it though. Motion controls for a fighting game? No fun and highly inaccurate. What's up with IGA telling us he wants to make good use of the Wii controls, but doesnt want you to constantly make a whipping motions because that's too tiring? Isnt making this into a fighting totally gonna tire our arms? I have a feeling this is an outsourced project. It looks interesting for sure, we'll have to see how it plays, but i dont have high hopes for it.
  10. Top Spin Tennis

hm... sounds good then... NOT! I cant believe how developers just cant nail the Wii controls.
  11. Top Spin Tennis

I want to know how well this one plays. If it's as playable as Wii Tennis and being able to control the character (which it does) and has good animation, I'm up for this one. I haven't seen many reviews pop up yet. Anyone played it yet?
  12. Ubisofts: Sports Party [Here We Go Again!]

Whoa! Someone make this crap end! Someone go kill Ubisoft, they've really gone from most cheered dev (pre-Wii launch) to the deep deep bottom. I wonder if they'll have ANY 'core' titles in development?
  13. The Conduit

It sure looks promising. Some screens look really good, like the one you're viewing from above down to an alley. Some are kinda meh. Im sure they'll iron it out as they've still got plenty of time. I think this game lack really good art direction though. It's so.. bland and generic. We'll see how this pans out. Definitely paying attention to this one.
  14. Street Fighter IV

Even if SFIV would be possible on Wii, controls are still the main problem. SFIV with motion controls would be horrible. The Nunchuk + Wiimote doesnt has enough buttons to work around it. Of course, there's also CC and GC controller. I think CC controller would be best. But honestly, how many Wii owners have one? I'm betting of 10% or less. Those with GC controllers are probably the ones with CC controllers as well. But say, CC+GC controller owners amount to 20% of the total Wii users. That's still a very low amount of users. So no wonder they're focusing on Arcade, 360, PS3 and PC first.
  15. Castlevania Wii Rumour Resurfaces

I've been thinking about this rumored game today. Assuming a Wii Castlevania exits and will be announced, I'd think (or rather, would love) it would be like this: In the DS game Order of Ecclesia, we get to play as the female character Shanoa. She's a member of the cult group. And since the Belmonts are gone, the cult group takes the role to take down Dracula. As we all know, Richter Belmont isnt the last Belmont, as there's Julius Belmont in the Sorrow games. Perhaps the Wii version has story that takes place prior to the story in the DS game. It focuses on what happened to the Belmonts. Where are they and why havent they showed up in the chaos that Dracula has caused? Say if the end of the DS game has Shanoa defeat Dracula, but not completely, because she doesnt have enough power to do that. That's where the two storylines come together. The Belmont and Shanoa meet each other and you can unlock an extended game in which you play as the Belmont in the DS game to thwart Drac. On the Wii game, you unlock Shanoa as a extra playable character. It's kind of like the Zelda Oracle games. They are separate and full blown games, but you can extend the story in the other if you connect a completed game. Wishful thinking on my part? Perhaps, but I'd sure like it.
  16. Resident Evil 0 Wiimake

Sadly, it's the former. It's basically the same game as it was on the GC. Apparently there's some Wii-controls involved, but nothing is know about that. So I doubt it's anything major. Capcom is just giving this game another chance. When the game released in on the GC, it was already outdated. I agree with Retro_Link that Capcom may be in a dilemma. They have their best team on RE5 already, but Wii has proven it can host RE game fine and sell exceptionally well. They won't have the resources to think up a new storyline. Remaking RE2 and/or 3 would make sense most, but... the environment dont lend well for RE4-style gameplay.
  17. Well, 'samey' goes for Cube too back in the days. I mean, SMS was a lot like SM64. Wind Waker was a lot like OOT, bar the art direction. Wave Race, 1080 and Mario Kart were a lot like their predecessor as well with added gimmick. And Melee was a souped-up Smash Brothers (though a VERY good one). The only truly original efforts were Pikmin and Metroid Prime. Nostalgia can skew your (and mine) opinion. Im hopeful that we're still to see the best of Wii. Recent third party announcements seem promising, let's see how that pans out.
  18. Fatal Frame 4

I so wanna play this game. Im really liking the details in the game so far. I wonder how far I can progress in this game without crapping the pants :P
  19. Castlevania Wii Rumour Resurfaces

Let's not jump the gun just yet. A comicbook (or something in that vein) saying a Wii-version is due later this year? Who says they know something the rest of the industry doesnt? It could very well be some uninformed person that picked up the rumors from the internet and took that as fact. I'm not saying it's not coming, but i'd hardly take that as a fact. Now, if Famitsu, IGN, EGM, the like were mentioning it, I'd believe it. And btw, i saw that scan. Nowhere did i see it mentioning a Wii title coming. It's saying: "Cross-promoted with the 2008 video game releases." Sure, apparently there's more than one game. But for Wii? I can only hope.
  20. Hm, funny. I just had a similar thought just recently. I got both consoles on launch day and enjoyed both of them immensely. In hindsight, the Cube had some truly fine gems. Not just first party games, but also third party. I think the Wii is lacking a bit in that respect. But then again, when I had the Cube and was comparing it to the N64-era, I was finding the previous console better. So I guess im the type of person that starts to appreciate the console more afterwards. I bet 5 years from now, when we're playing the next console, I'll be thinking: I had immense fun with WiiSports, Galaxy etc. Hopefully, we've yet to see the best of Wii's lifecycle.
  21. Tenchu: Shadow Assassins

Wow, where did this come from? First Rune Factory, now this? Cool Didnt the DS version suck quite a lot? Are these game supposed to be fun anyway? I'll keep an eye on it. At least it's no casual, mini-game type of game.
  22. Rune Factory Frontier

How unexpected! I havent played Rune Factory yet, but I was always intrigued by the premise. Harvest Moon + Battles? Yeah, count me in.
  23. Top Spin Tennis

As long as this game has good controls, it's a must-buy for me. Wii Tennis is still one of the most played game. The only thing I want it being able to control where I go and have an expanded game + options for me. Having licensed characters doesnt hurt either. Im awaiting more review scores till I decide on this.
  24. Street Fighter IV

Yeah! Gimme that game. Im only mildly excited by SF4. It seems too much like a remake of SF2, but with polygons. In fact, Im more excited about SSF2T:HDR (phew). I can imagine they're doing a sprite-based version of the game for DS, PSP and maybe even Wii. I sure wouldn't mind. Cos if they haven't planned it yet, it'll mean we wont get it within a year. By that time, the game is pretty old, no one will care. A sprite-based game a la SFIII? Count me in
  25. Player's Choice/Budeget range for Wii?

Dont think it'll happen anytime soon. There aren't a whole lot of games Nintendo can add to their range. WiiSports? Pack-in game. Zelda: TP? Still selling decently. MP3? Galaxy? Still too new. MP8? Perhaps. But not till MP9 is released. ExciteTruck? Would be a good choice. But i dont think it sold well enough to make it as a Player's Choice. Some third party games usually join this range as well. But the best-selling ones were either not full price titles (RE4:Wii, Carnival Games) or still selling well (RRR, REUC) or they didn't do too well (Elebits). Then, some games are discounted already by the publisher (Red Steel, Sonic, Nights). I'm quite happy with price most games sell. I remember the Cube days where all games were 60 euro. Nowadays, first party games usually sell for 45 euro. Some good third party games sell for 55. I can live with that. Just don't go compare it with US or JP prices.
