The only reason why Animal Crossing NH is there is because my brother has been playing it on my account. Bit disappointing that they're not providing more detailed playtime/mode usage breakdowns this year, but hey ho! Your Gaming Diary Writeups for the likes of Octopath Traveller and The Stanley Parable UD are forthcoming, don't worry, I haven't forgotten! (Just been stupid busy!)
-
I really hope that they've polished them up since their original PC/Mobile releases... because they're pretty rough as they are. I wouldn't say that any of them (aside from FF3) particuarily represent the best versions of their respective titles within the series as they are.

Glad to hear that you’re heading in the right direction No rush, post on here when you feel like it. We’ll always be glad to see you around and wishing the best for you when you’re not

Nintendo Direct: The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2nd trailer - 29th November
Dcubed replied to Ike's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah, we probably should roll it all into one thread. Can be hard to track down all the discourse surrounding the movie; and given that it has “direct” (huh huh) ramifications on Nintendo as a company and the Mario series in general? Probably should also stay on the gaming side. -
Great to finally see From Soft get out of the Soulsbourne mines and remember that they used to make other kinds of games

BLUE SHELLS ONLY, FINAL DESTINATION!!!
-
Presumably this is really for Switch 2, rather than the current model… … unless Nintendo really ARE gonna wait until 2033 to release a successor (don’t give them any ideas!!)
-
Win-win for Microsoft here. They’re not directly competing with Nintendo anyway and consider them partners where appropriate. Cunning move.
-
A smartphone port already exists (Japan-only), so that’s not it. A Switch version is, by far, the most likely thing on the cards.
-
That's also going to be the case. As the publisher, It'll be up to Nintendo to publicly relay whatever Game Freak has to say. It's Nintendo's policy to not disclose precise details about patch notes & bug fixes; so they won't discuss exact fixes they've made unless they're very specific, like a crash bug or music fix (Otherwise, the best you'll get is "Changes have been made for a more pleasant experience"). But I guarantee you that this is going to be the very first thing that Game Freak will work to fix, because it is legitimately game breaking.

Probably will be button controls in Docked mode, touch screen controls in Handheld mode.

Hey, thanks for letting my buds jump in. Was a last-minute unplanned thing. Sorry about all the disconnection issues tonight!

Mine arrived about 5-7 days after my pre-order was processed. So I'd imagine that you won't be waiting long

Yes, absolutely. This annual death march is utterly killing the quality of each series entry, and it’s only getting worse with each subsequent release. I think this really has to be a tipping point for the series, Game Freak are now visibly buckling under the weight of the annual release schedule. Merch and anime be damned, the mainline games are the core product that everything else is built around, and they simply need to give Game Freak more time inbetween releases. The old yearly schedule that worked so well throughout the GB-DS era simply doesn’t work in the era of HD console development anymore.
-
You won’t really see the ramifications of the shoddy state of this release on launch weekend (obviously launch day buyers who pre-ordered wouldn’t have been aware of how unfinished the game actually was, before they bought it). You’ll only really see it manifest with future releases and S/V’s sales legs/WOM down the line…

Finally! Some proper gameplay footage! And it looks… pretty superb The Emblem Rings system looks like a neat twist on the Pair-Up mechanic and the previous equipable skills of past games. Lots of strategic options and unique combinations, I like the look of it! (Celica looks busted with her essentially granting you Warp lol; and as @Glen-i can attest to, it’s only fitting that Celica grants Warp, considering how utterly broken it is in Shadows of Valentia ). I like the focus on terrain effects that they’ve got going here. Something quite different for the series, and something that the series hasn’t really explored too much before Everything I’ve seen so far about this game looks great! And the release is very well timed too, since I’m just coming to the end of my playthrough of Shadows of Valentia (write-up to come in the Gaming Diary thread, but short spoilers? It’s awesome!) Really looking forward to FE Engage now

I think the most shocking thing is how much of a technical downgrade S/V is from PL: Arceus. That game runs like a dream in comparison to S/V! But yeah, every complaint made in the DF video is spot ok. This is the roughest and most unpolished/unfinished game that Nintendo or TPC have ever published (and that includes BDSP).

FUCK YEAH!!! TGM!! First time that any TGM arcade game has ever gotten a home release! You guys are not ready…

Oh wow! They made Boo Lake into an underwater track! Hell of a glow up!

Here's a fun bug you might want to try out for yourself! Wonder how many controllers you can stack this with... Either way, speedrunners gonna LOVE this!

The former.

N-E Online Mario Parties (Week 27 - Waluigi's Island - MP3)
Dcubed replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm not even going to lie, my behaviour was utterly woeful. There was no need for me to purposely throw Running of the Bulb... twice. Nah, who am I kidding, it was totally justified Anyway! Here's some lowlights highlights for your amusement... That was great fun. I love how ridiculously unfair Mario Party 1 can be. An appropriate summary of this week -
Yeah, this game is fucking raw. It clearly needed more time in the oven. Something really needs to give. TPC have to reneg on their annual schedule and give Game Freak more time to work on each new game; because this is just not acceptable. And this isn't the first time this has happened now... BDSP (granted, different developer; but still) was a complete trashfire on launch day; a game that came out without a fucking title screen in place! And now the ridiculous schedule is impacting on the mainline series proper in a truly obvious way. I don't care if the anime has to be pushed back a year or two as a result, the quality just isn't there; and they can't afford to have this dragging down the mainline series (which is the core product that the entire brand is built around). TPC NEED to give up on the annual schedule.

Thanks guys. Things have been very challenging these past months, but we're making progress; slowly but surely. Hopefully she'll be able to get on well with Pokemon S/V, she's been really looking forward to it
