PlayStation Showcase (Wednesday 24th May @ 21:00 BST)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Other Consoles
Makes sense that Sony’s first party lineup would be thin on the ground this year. Most of their internal studios have only just put out a major title within the last couple of years, so of course they aren’t gonna be ready to show anything yet. Nintendo is going to have a very similar problem over the next year or so as well. Outside of EPD Tokyo and Retro Studios, everyone else is kind of spent, so they won’t be ready to put out big titles for a while now. -
Why do I get the feeling that these versions will be based on the vanilla releases and not the upgraded Integral/Substance/Subsistence versions? Really hoping I’m wrong here… These games really need a good re-release.

I laughed. -
Honestly surprised that it wasn't outright cancelled. Very interested to see how this turns out, given that Platinum worked on it at one point.

It's coming out November 2023. There, I spoilt it for you I mean... it's Sony's one big first party 2023 game, when else is it gonna come out?

Looking real fun!

So... Sony made a Wii U Gamepad, huh? -
What an absolute bastard

Fantastic news! Coming out June 1st 2023! Just TGM 3 left to go after this one!

I was going to before, but now that I've got a MiSTer and an Analogue Pocket? There isn't much point in getting one for me anymore. I'm sure it'll be a decent piece of kit though. Analogue products always end up being quality... when they eventually get shipped a few years down the line.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Hey look! 3 brand new multiplayer GBA games for NE nights to sink into! -
I know this was leaked ages ago, but it’s still genuinely surprising that they’re actually going ahead with a native Switch port this late into the console’s life. Fair play to them.

So this is their Not E3 show? I expect big things here then I suspect that Spidey 2 will be their big gun here (probably will announce a November 2023 release date here), but I’m not sure if much else is going to be due in terms of big 1st party productions outside of TLOU Factions; since most of their studios have already put out releases throughout 2021-2022. I guess Team Asobu could have something to show, as well as Bluepoint (Bloodborne remake?). And their newly acquired studios could have some early announcement trailers for games due to arrive in 2024. But otherwise? I can’t imagine that much else will be ready for release within the next 12 months. Still, anything could come from 3rd parties; and there’s always a chance that Sony have been splashing the cash on exclusives… Speaking of which, KH4 and FF7 Rebirth ought to be ready for a first showing by now surely? -
I always liked DKCR's concept art that you can unlock in the game... Of course, Metroid Prime 1-3's concept art is legendary, but I'll let somebody else post that...

Tales of Symphonia Remastered (Switch, PS4, Xbox - 2023)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Good news. Honestly thought that Namco weren't gonna bother and would just take the money & run. I mean... it's still gonna be a shit version, but at least it's less shit now. -
Technically not video game music but whatevs!

I can assure you that they are spoiler free this time

Yo yo yo! @Glen-i can't make it this week, so the fate of the world now rests on @BowserBasher's shoulders for Player's Choice tonight. No pressure now!

You know that the game doesn't load the entire world in one go right? It having a larger map doesn't really increase processing load in of itself. It might require a bit more RAM, but Switch has more than 3x the amount of usable RAM as the Wii U does anyway, so not exactly pushing the boat out there.

Basically there are almost no improvements over the original BOTW, but it also has basically the same level of image quality and performance. Kinda sad that there have been basically no notable technological improvements for Switch since it launched 6.5 years ago. It ended up getting maxed out by a Wii U port from day 1. The days of developers squeezing more juice out of hardware over time as they learn the ins & outs of the hardware are long gone it seems

Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp (21st April 2023)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Just got up to Sensei's first chapter... Dang! That is some sexy sax! Love the little hint of the original GBA tune in his co-power varient too! So good! I also appreciate the Benny Hillification of Colin's co-power music too. It's an audible middle finger to the other player and I love it! -
Regarding the latest ATD…

Release date news!!! At last!!! ... ... ... ... and it's not good news!

I hear that the game still stars Link, features a 3rd person camera and involves you running around with sticks that still break if you look at them funny as well
