Can't say that I expected Evening Star's first game to be a 3D platformer, but I am definitely in for this!

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince (1st December 2023)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well now! Isn't that nice? -
New DLC? No! New Amiibo!
-
So... uhh... this is awkward...

That was... pretty dang good! Actual new games! And they look batshit insane! Just how I like my Nintendo!

Can't say that I had Super Princess Peach 2 on my bingo card, but there ya go! I'm guessing that the game has something to do with her losing her crown? I mean, it's not like you're looking at a Mario series adjecent game for an epic plot or anything, but that's basically all we have to go off of here lol. That was such a short snippet of footage that I'm not sure why they even bothered to show it here?

Oh yeah! This exists... I honestly forgot all about it, when was it announced agai... (goes to check)... bloody hell! 2019!?
-
Sweet! Will be buying it in that case! Nice that it includes other ancilliary stuff like the MGS Database and the Graphic Novel. Gives me hope that MGS4 will be coming in Vol 2 alongside MG Acid 1 & 2 and Ghost Babel

Star Ocean: The Second Story R (2nd November 2023)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Honestly shocked that they aren't just doing a port of the PSP remake. Really? You're gonna remake it from scratch again? Sure! I'll take it! -
FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!
-
No release date? Disappointed... Surely it can't be far off now though? It's gotta be coming out in the next month or two, you really can't give us a release date?

Super Mario RPG (for Switch! - 17th November 2023)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well that explains why we never got SMRPG on the SNES NSO service... Absolutely love that they've kept everything looking off model like in the original. Was worried that they'd sanitise the look and make everything appear on-brand in-line with modern Super Mario, so I'm pleasantly surprised that everything still looks super stubby & squishy Now I'm just wondering who's making it... I really hope the old Alphadream staff have gotten back together and have joined Nintendo for this... I want to see them carry on making Mario RPG titles... I miss Alphadream so bad... -
It's NSMB... but on DRUUUUUUUUUGGGGGSSSS!!! An accurate depiction of the development process behind this game

Well that aged like horseshit

Baten Kaitos I&II HD Remaster (14th September 2023)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm guessing that the reason why the game only includes the Japanese dub is because Nintendo owns the rights to the English dub and Namco aren't willing to pay for whatever Nintendo is asking (Nintendo funded the English localisation for both games back in the day). -
First trailer... This looks much more similar to the first game than I was expecting. It's not really like Jackbox at all, like the rumours were suggesting.

Wow! You made out like a bandit on that deal! Congrats!

Very interesting... We officially have our first announced game for Switch 2! So much for me buying this on discount now lol!

I’m ready for the flood of GCN/Wii remasters and Wii U ports! Let’s go!

Japanese Download Cards have been spotted, and there's some interesting tidbits that have been gleamed from them... But what's more interesting than that info is a little Unreal Engine logo... Looks like the game is running on UE4! To me? That means that there's a very good chance that the bulk of the programming work is being outsourced to an external studio; since Nintendo EPD have their own in-house tech that they exclusively use. So the question then is, who is co-developing Pikmin 4? My money is on Good Feel. They've been suspiciously quiet ever since they released Yoshi's Crafted World (UE4), with only Monkey Barrels (UE4) in 2019 to show for their work since then. Always possible that it could also be Eighting, who worked on Pikmin 3 Deluxe, but I think it's more likely to be Good Feel.

Baten Kaitos I&II HD Remaster (14th September 2023)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Man, not having the English dub is such a bummer, because the remaster looks great otherwise. Always has to be some sort of monkey's paw with Bamco and re-releases... -
Cool bit of DS related hardware that you probably haven't seen before...

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yup, even the vocal track in the opening sequence was removed! NOE cheaped out on the cartridge capacity and decided to cut some content (including part of the ending sequence) to fit the other languages onto a 16MB cart. Play the US version instead. -
How predictable… Atlus avoiding a Switch release again… Did Nintendo kick their dog or something?
