Actually, that's a lot bigger than I expected. The Animal Crossing games are always really small. AC Wii was only about 320MB, Wild World was 64MB IIRC and the GCN/N64 game was only 32MB!
-
That's a great selection! I would've probably have gone with those as well, especially Krookodile... So much goddamn swag! (and Sandile is super cute to boot! ) Gen 5 has one of the best selections of new Pokemon for sure. Probably my favourite all new cast since R/B!
-
Dahym! 6!? I haven't even done that many runs of Gen 3 or 4! How much harder is Challenge Mode than the regular one? I'm planning on making it my second run through - then maybe my 3rd one will be done as part of that Whole Series Nuzlocke challenge I'm planning on doing at some point (one Pokemon for each game that I transfer from game to game upon completion - hoping end up with a final, battle hardened team of 6 survivors!)
-
Damn, they waited till this morning to pack up and ship my game. Wont get it till tomorrow (I'm not really upset though, considering that I'm still getting it a day before the release day )
-
This one. Speaks for itself...

Ooh! Now this IS interesting! Seems that AKB48+Me is going to include a digital copy inside the retail box! (so you get two copies of the game when you buy it at retail!) http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/32058 It's an industry first! I hope this becomes a standard, because I've been wanting to see something like this for ages (like how some Blurays come with a digital copy as well)

Ditto. Eagerly awaiting the postie tomorrow

Hydroventure is freakin brilliant. One of Wii Ware's very best games. It has a Mario 64 style structure, as opposed to a level based design, with a nice metroidvania style of exploration (where you need to gain new abilities, skills to access areas you couldn't access before). You also have the ability to switch forms from water to gas to ice and the motion controls work superbly. There's a sequel coming out on the 3DS eShop in December (the big new gimmick being full 360 degree motion controls, as opposed to the limited movement of the Wii Ware game)
-
Another new game for the Wii U eShop. This time it's a Wii U edition of Puddle (previously released on XBLA and PSN) http://gamersxtreme.org/2012/10/08/puddle-coming-to-the-wii-u-details-and-screenshots-included/ Wii U version includes optional motion controls for the puddle, off TV play support and re-worked levels from the original release. It also runs at full 1080p 60FPS (as opposed to the 720p resolution of the PS360 versions) Looks pretty good (even though it's a blatant clone of Hydroventure)

What launch games will you be picking?

I'm still not 100% decided (at least as far as retail goes) I'm definitely getting NSMBU and NintendoLand on day 1 and I'm strongly considering ZombiU, but there are a few others I'm on the fence on (namely, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed and, if a miracle happens and it truly has been fixed, Ninja Gaiden 3 RE) As far as downloads go (assuming they all make it in time for day 1): Toki Tori 2, Nano Assault Neo and Little Inferno. -
So Pokemon is PETA's newest target... http://features.peta.org/pokemon-black-and-white-parody/ Oh how ironic that they should choose to support Team Plasma. The entire point of B&W's story was to tackle the morality behind the concept of Pokemon capture and raising - and they actually came up with a damn good explanation for the morality behind the concept. I guess this game is how N and Team Plasma saw the world of Pokemon (also lowering defence causes Thundershock to do more damage. Nice to know that they haven't actually played any of the Pokemon games )
-
Well it's not like this sort of responsibility waiving problem is limited to downloadable games... But yeah, people should be looking to get a refund if they've already bought one of the affected games.

It's official. Rayman Legends has been delayed till Q1 2013 Ubisoft responded to 4Gamers (source is Dutch) http://u.4gamers.be/nieuws/20169/1/Bevestigd-Rayman-Legends-verschuift-naar-2013 So that's that. I suppose it's probably for the best. Going directly up against NSMB U, Rayman would've come off much worse; now it'll have a much better chance (and it'll fill the early 2013 gap in the Wii U's schedule!) Edit: We have an English statement now! http://www.videogamer.com/wiiu/rayman_legends/news/confirmed_rayman_legends_delayed_to_q1_2013.html

Oh BTW, word of warning for anyone who's looking to buy Tombi/Tomba off the EU PSN stores, they've butchered the game and converted the US version to 50hz (very badly at that!) It's even worse than the original PAL versions because the game speed and music hasn't even been corrected for the slower 50hz speed, making the gameplay much slower and the music/sound effects slowed down and off. A large chunk of the "import" titles also suffer from the same problem (though not all - The US Resident Evil games run at the proper 60hz speed at least) A video of the problem is shown here: If you're looking to buy Tombi/Tomba, get it off the US store. You'll get the proper 60hz version that way.

Series 7's existence is justified soely by this...

Oh wow! Sony are suing Kevin Butler!!! For those not in the know, the actor who plays Kevin Butler in Sony's US adverts appeared in a Bridgestone advert in the US that advertised an offer where they give away a Wii when you buy a set of tires. The actor who plays Kevin Butler (Jerry Lambert) appears in the advert, playing Mario Kart Wii... Sony are now suing Bridgestone and the advertising agency (Wildcat Creek) that made the ad. Jerry Lambert just so happens to be Wildcat Creek's president! http://dockets.justia.com/docket/california/candce/3:2012cv04753/258962/ http://docs.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/california/candce/3:2012cv04753/258962/8/ http://docs.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/california/candce/3:2012cv04753/258962/14/ Holy shit! This is just too funny! Can't wait to watch Sony getting laughed out of court (assuming that they haven't settled)

It's about the same length as Ikaruga and is structured much like an arcade game. It's pretty good, but certainly not the best of its kind. I'd say it's worth it if you appreciate a short and replayable arcade style experience.

Speak for yourself here. Where am I defending the lack of online play in SF64 3D!? If they couldn't get it done in time, they should've delayed it (it's especially egregious considering that SF Command had online play!) But historically speaking, they haven't ignored online play. They just simply add it in where it makes sense. Games like Mario Kart, Smash Bros (despite the significant challenges involved), Starfox, Advance Wars, Kid Icarus Uprising, Pokemon, Mario Tennis, Metroid Prime Hunters, Puzzle League and the like should (and do!) have online play. Games like Pikmin, NSMB and Four Swords that rely on precise timing and player co-ordination should not until we all have connections that can make those experiences work properly. Games like Wii Sports, Wario Ware, Just Dance, Pacman VS, Nintendo Land and Mario Party also shouldn't have online play because the experience simply relies on that atmosphere that you get from sitting within punching distance of the guy you just dicked over (Think how boring it would be to wait your turn in an online match of Mario Party!) The Nintendo games that are conductive to an online experience are usually actually given online play (cough, except Starfox 64 3D, cough!)

The game is coming out this year over here!

That's probably for the best I wonder how many game breaking glitches will we see in Nightsky when it comes out next week in the US...
-
Yeah that's true. MAG doesn't have to keep perfect track of all 200+ players, just the ones in your immediate view. If you tried doing that in Pikmin 3 however, you'd have Pikmin teleporting all over the place, ending up flying into water or electricity at a moment's notice - since you have to be able to see all of them at all times (they're not always gonna be split up)
-
Oh dear, looks like we're gonna have to wait even longer for Cave Story 3DS now. Looks like Curly Mode is broken... There's a glitch that makes the first area impossible to pass through. VVVVVV had a similar issue where Flip Mode was broken and they wouldn't release it in Europe until it was patched and Cave Story Wii Ware was also held back until a patch for the US version was released that fixed various issues. Trust Nicalis to fuck up once again
-
Well, looks like you're gonna be very happy then

First actual English trailer/teaser! (it's cute! )

This Wii U game is a sequel to the 3DS original. An enhanced version of the 3DS original (with a smoother framerate, enhanced online leaderboards, a new game mode and Circle Pad Pro support) is also coming to the 3DS eShop this year too, under the name Nano Assault EX. So basically... Nano Assault 1 = 3DS Nano Assault 2 = Wii U
