  1. Disappointed that they didn't show the eShop or any voice chat support, but the rest looks really good. Also seems that you can add friends to your friend's list from directly inside the Miiverse. Nice NSMBU looks like HOT SEX Edit: The Iwata Asks is up for Miiverse! (Japanese only ATM)
  2. OMG, the video chat music is so cuuuuttteeee!
  3. LOOOOOOLLL @ The music for the Premium Set unboxing WII U ACTIVITY LOG!
  4. I'm surprised that there isn't much going on in the background. Are they not doing any plane switching this time round I wonder? You wouldn't believe it if I told you, but supposedly Matt Bozon (Shantae's Director who created the character) supposedly never played those games until after he made the original! http://www.1up.com/features/shantae I know! It's crazy to think that he hadn't played them, especially when the Shantae and Monster World 4 are so similar at a conceptual level!
  5. What fruit will Iwata be holding this time? (I bet on Coconut!) Iwata better also turn into a Wii U Porn Curtain this time or this whole thing is a bust!
  6. Nintendo Power posted part of the article on their site (PICTURES!!!) Once again, 2013 is the real 2012. GIMME!
  7. More details via GoNintendo from the Nintendo Power article... I love the idea of each item serving two purposes. Comes across as a bit Zeldaish
  8. Well that wasn't really an announcement. They've made Shantae demos on every single Nintendo console released since the GBC (including the famous Shantae Advance demo, a 3D platformer for the GCN and a Wii demo of some sort). That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if it did eventually get a HD version for Wii U like what Mighty Switch Force is getting (but given that the DSi game made such a big deal about plane switching - I'd assume that the 3DS sequel would follow suit, making it the ideal platform for such a game anyway) Either way, can't wait! (Funnily enough, I was just thinking about them the other day and that they seemed like they were due for an announcement )
  9. Well, that was a bit quicker than the last wait between sequels! (The cliffhanger ending of Risky's Revenge did kind of make it obvious that a sequel was in the works mind you :p ) Plane switching in S3D (ALA Mutant Mudds) please!
  10. Heh I didn't even know that they had a maintenance page for all their services (even shows service problems per game too - guess those Pokemon Black/White server problems explain why Game Sync wasn't working for me earlier today!)
  11. Yep. You can trade them locally or online with other players too
  12. Not all of them are paid DLC, some of them are free. Also you can download other custom lessons, that people made themselves, for free too.
  13. It's a good haul this week http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/11/nintendo_download_8th_november_2012_europe Will be buying Pokedex 3D Pro and Rising Board 3D If you can't remember what Rising Board is, it's that Pop Island spinoff game where you endlessly surf for as long as you can.
  14. I like the new design. Much easier to navigate now (ignoring the fact that search is broken at the moment and that many games are missing) and looks nicer to boot. Stars Catalogue is still down for another 2 weeks though. Also, I approve of the 404 error message page http://www.nintendo.co.uk/404
  15. Pikmin 3 to contain a Lego block treasure confirmed!!!
  16. Another great and really varied list of 10 games And a sad reminder that I've yet to play Shattered Memories (Been meaning to pick it up for ages!)
  17. GBA AND GCN GAMES ON 3DS/WII U ESHOP TO BE ANNOUNCED DURING NINTENDO DIRECT TOMORROW! BERIEVE!!! I don't believe
  18. True this. I am actually really looking forward to that I'm the kind of guy who hates making levels in Little Big Planet because it's so excessively complicated - but I could easily see myself making some killer customised Coin Battle levels (I can't wait to make a level with a single coin that everyone has to fight over for ) Simple, yet powerful enough to enable lots of creativity without too much work. That's the ticket
  19. It's not that it would suck, it's just that development time is finite and that they need to prioritise perfecting the craft of their own levels over making a level editor for the average person to use. Nintendo aren't exactly opposed to offering up level editors for players (F-zero X Expansion Kit, Excitebike, Wario Ware DIY, Mario VS DK 2-4, New Art Academy, Picross DS and Picross 3D are all fine examples), it's just that it needs to fit the game that they're making. If the entire game isn't based around user generated content (ALA Wario Ware DIY, Mario Paint, Wii Music or the F-Zero X Expansion Kit), then the process needs to be simplified, restrictive and yet intuitive enough for the average person to create quality content (Picross, New Art Academy's lesson creator and even NSMBU's Coin Battle user placable coins are a good example of this) Otherwise it becomes too complex for the average person (and wouldn't result in quality user generated content) and just takes away from valuable development time that could be better spent elsewhere.
  20. The people who made NSMB2 were not amateurs, they've worked on plenty of other Nintendo titles and are a clear cut above other developers (let alone the general public!) Fanmade levels are nowhere near as good as Nintendo's own ones; and that's not even taking into account the 4/5 player element. Designing levels to work just as well in 1 player as they do with 4/5 players is bloody hard; NSMB Wii was the first of its kind and it's a tremendous accomplishment from a purely level design perspective (and really, the Mario series is all about level design at its fundamental core). Level design is an art, not a science. It's something that can only really be crafted to the quality that Nintendo deliver by a select few and most community made levels would be utter shite (giving a false impression of the rest of the game) Why waste time developing something that will only lower the overall quality of the game? It's not like the game is lacking content and variety as it is I suppose in that respect, you could say that the customisable coin placement in Coin Battle mode is a nice compromise solution. Gives players a taste of what designing levels is like, adds endless amounts of variety in that mode and doesn't tarnish the game as a whole
  21. Given the plethora of different modes on offer, I can believe this. I get the feeling that this game is gonna have a LOT of longevity I will profess though that I am a bit disappointed that it seems like it wont be as hard as NSMB Wii. Granted, it's the hardest game in the series and represents The Lost Levels if you were to chart the NSMB series against the SMB series timeline (SMB/NSMB, SMBLL/NSMBWii, SMB3/NSMB2, SMW/NSMBU), but I was still hoping for that kind of level of raw challenge. Oh well, I guess that's what the in-game challenges are for!
  22. Oh boy! All those memories of Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2's minigames suddenly come flooding back to me Can't wait! (BTW, I still play those minigames with my friends occasionally)
  23. Well it may still happen. There are probably a good few people that gave up their slots in order to get that bundle, so it may still be possible that you'll get it on launch day!
  24. Edit: Oh wait, I forgot, you switched your pre-order didn't you? I guess that does corrobate what the guy told me then Damn, sorry man Well either way, I've cancelled the new one and am gonna wait to see what they say regarding stock levels later on this week before switching.
  25. Looks like you may be right... I just got a reply from Shopto (from that ticket I sent on Saturday...) Well that's clear at least. I wonder if this "launch window rollout" is a standard thing that Nintendo are doing across all retailers? (would explain why the information is coming from Nintendo directly...)
