I haven’t had as much time to play this game as I would’ve liked (I’ve only just unlocked the 5th base stage here on Switch), but I have played it a fair bit on Switch now and it’s very solid. Performance is mostly a smooth 60FPS, with only really Co-op bringing about significant slowdown (and even then, it’s still far better than the old version used to be on Steam Deck; still very playable with some slowdown not really getting in the way of the fun). They did a great job with the Switch port. Speaking of co-op… it’s tons of fun! Each player gets a limitation on how many weapons/accessories that they can carry (this changes depending on how many players are playing, with 4 of each item in 2 player, 3 of each in 3 players and 2 of each in 4 player mode). What makes it really interesting however is that players cannot both pick up the same item; so if one player gets the whip? No other player can have it… this means that there’s a fair bit of strategy involved as the players need to co-ordinate with each other and plan out who gets what items to maximise your team’s effectiveness. And in a stroke of malice genius, the slot machine treasure chest randomly picks a single player to receive the spoils, so you can imagine the rage when one player scores a Fiver, while the others get nothing There’s some other fun wrinkles in play as well, but overall, Co-op here is a well thought out addition that is executed very well. Strongly recommended! You know what’s even better than that? The new version of that song that got included in the latest update…

Damn, Fresh Prince night? Bummer I’m working this Thursday

God I hate that gaudy RGB "Gamer" shite! You basically can't buy any decent PC gaming hardware these days without it being covered in tacky rainbow lights!

Oh this is badass! https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/8027/ Wario Land 4 now has native Game Boy Player rumble support! Works on real Game Boy Player hardware as well as other devices like the MiSTer and certain emulators (as well as the Analogue Pocket + DS Rumble Pak with an additional included patch). This is awesome! First time that rumble has ever been newly added into a GBA game that didn't originally have it. Hope the author of this patch now starts adding rumble to other GBA games, this is so cool!

God yes! I miss Pokémon Pinball something fierce! Have actually been playing both games quite a bit recently, especially with the cartridge rumble patch that lets you play the GBA game with rumble on the Analogue Pocket & MiSTer; has been a blast!

SAG-AFTRA to ballot on game industry strike
Dcubed replied to Ashley's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Good. The shit that the games industry are pulling (especially with ML voice synthesis) is appalling. Give ‘em hell! -

All-new PlayStation Plus: Premium / Deluxe | Extra | Essential
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Other Consoles
Bloody hell! That price hike came fast! They really couldn’t wait after the Game Pass bump huh? Who in their right mind would subscribe to Premium at this point!? If it wasn’t already a ripoff, it’s outright robbery at that price. -

Yeah, we'll probably get the Martinet video that they promised here as well. I suspect that this is also where they'll announce the online play features too. -
Looks nice, but it’s also kinda rich of them to introduce this new model after making their existing customers wait more than a year for their current pre-orders…

Switch 2 - predictions, guesstimates and other SWAGs
Dcubed replied to Ashley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
A few extra minor deets… Apparently, two demos were shown off; one first party and one third party (probably a UE5 demo). Said to be very impressive graphically. Finally, Nintendo seem to be coy about whether or not Switch 2 will have backwards compatibility or not (uh-oh…). That’s all I know. -
Switch 2 - predictions, guesstimates and other SWAGs

My Uncle At Nintendo is back… Switch 2 has apparently now been seen in person (probably shown off behind closed doors at Gamescom). Deets to come from certain reporters very soon… Looks like it’s finally happening! -

SAGAFTRA does indeed cover video game voice actors, and they did organise an industry-wide strike in 2016-2017.

First fridges, now wraps. Is Microsoft looking to open up a restaurant?

Mario is an odd thing in that Nintendo have always recorded new clips for each and every game; alongside reusing old voice clips. They could easily have gotten away with just reusing voice clips from their vault years ago and yet they keep recording new lines. I don't see them stopping any time soon. Though it is a shame that we'll never get to see Martinet do another fully voice acted Wario game again... Wario Ware Gold was so good!!
-
Nah, they'll probably just get a sound-alike in. This isn't the first time they've recast one of their characters and it won't be the last. Edit: It won't be long until we find out who's voicing Mario & Luigi...

Horrible news I swear to God, they had better not be replacing him with Chris Pratt...

Knowing Konami? I wouldn't be surprised if they cut the credits sequences out of all three games in their entierty... That's exactly the kind of thing that they'd do...- 26 replies
