  1. While I like some of those ideas definately, I'm still thinking that not everyone has their Wii connected to the internet, and therfore the weather forcasts in real life mixing with the game wouldn't be available to anyone. Plus if you were playing during a hot summer you might not get to be able to play in the rain for several days lol, changing weather definately. But I'm not sure about the mirroring the real life part. Maybe just having every in game day being a different/random weather could spice up the gameplay quite a lot so it's rarely the same conditions two days in a row.

And I think that pointing throwing and moving of the Pikmin should be done by the remote while Olimar/Louies actions should be done with the buttons/nunchuck. Lengthwise Pikmin 2 had a good length if you wanted to get all the treasure. And I think the return of caves could be a good thing as well, although I'd personally not want to see the return of only being able to get certain colours of Pikmin underground in flowers.

But Pikmin 3 is the game I'm hoping will be announced at E3, I really enjoyed the other 2 and Pikmin 2 is VERY good, I'd seriously recommend picking it up anyone that can.

I'm not sure that throwing Pikmin with the remote would work that well. I mean if you throw you're no longer pointing at the screen so how would that work? Also there were times in the other games when you had to hammer the button to throw as fast as you can which again might not work that well with the remote.

Also the pointer might be weird as you wouldn't be able to throw a Pikmin over the whole screen so how would that work?

I'll be interested to see how they do it.

  2. I'm well peeved. Bought an iphone 3 weeks ago! They lowered the price KNOWING they were going to release a better and an even cheaper model a month later. Feel well conned and really disappointed as I didnt think Apple were that type of company, poor niave me.

Im sure there's a 30 day refund policy though, if so then I may cancel and start all over again! If I can.

The pay as you go will still be exclusive to o2 though. You can actually do what you are saying now. Buy the phone from carphonewarehouse for £99 and just don't register it, unlock the phone at any stall or market phone place and voila, unlocked iphone for just £99 :)

You should be able to return it but I think you have to pay a restocking fee.

Welcome to the world of technology. Did you not read all the stories about the new one being released? They've been about for ages.

Arrived in the post today from Amazon. Think I'll have to listen a few times before I can really comment on how good I think it is. It's not as catchy as Costello Music but there are some great songs on it so far. Will have to listen to the second half of it more as they may grow on me.

  4. This new iPhone offer MMS? I was quite suprised to hear the current doesn't.

Anywho. Looks shiny. I kinda want one, but I don't really need one for at least another year and hopefully by then they'll be better and cheaper...hopefully.

Not to my knowledge. It's a shame because it's not exactly a hard feature to implement. From the original iPhone the cons for me would be lack of 3G, cost, lack of 3rd party apps, lack of proper Bluetooth, lack of MMS, and no video recording capabilities. Now the biggest issues have been resolved and yet the simpler ones haven't. I don't quite understand it. I mean they don't really matter to me but I know people that use these features all the time.

  5. I was also surprised by no 32GB iphone, maybe in a couple of months when prices and sizes shrink a bit more. Impressed overall.

Yeah, and with the iPod Touch being available in 32GB it is a bit strange. Perhaps they did it to make it the low price they have done.

  6. Well new iPhone looks nice, although I don't quite understand having a plastic back to it. 3G speeds will obviously be nice, although I don't use Edge enough to warrant upgrading my current iPhone. GPS is also a nice feature but I have a Sat Nav so again not something I would particularly use.

Very impressed with the price though. I think it's definitely a more attractive package now to the mainstream.

Can't see myself using the MobileMe stuff. It would be nice but I still don't like the idea of paying £60-70 a year for that kind of stuff. I'm not renewing .Mac as I can quite easily live without it.

Some of the new apps look useful, Monkey Ball looked good! Like the look of an Ebay application, that'll be useful as well.

Disappointed to see no added Bluetooth functionality, no MMS, and no video recording. Maybe that'll be added by a 3rd party application. Still, nothing major in my opinion, but would have certainly made the 'cons' column of the iPhone even shorter.

Also, no 32GB iPhone? Overall, a good showing really although nothing too surprising, I more than likely will wait until the end of my current contract to upgrade.

  7. Microsoft using Blu-Ray is much more interesting than Apple finally upgrading to what has been standard for quite a few years.

I'm not bothered about the 3G use, it's software related stuff I'm after. I still fail to see how this upstages, or is even related to what Apple will be doing the same day.

Who really cares if they can play Blu Rays on an Xbox?

  8. Rumor: Microsoft to "Upstage" Apple WWDC With Xbox 360 Blu-Ray Announcement

Microsoft's on-again, off-again relationship with an Xbox 360 Blu-Ray drive looks set to be on again this Monday. As you all know by now, Monday marks the beginning of Apple's annual WWDC, and a little bird told us something is going to be announced by Steve Jobs there during his keynote. Microsoft doesn't care; a tipster told CrunchGear it's going to "upstage" Jobs, Apple and the entire known tech-using world by announcing an Xbox 360 with Blu-Ray drive one hour before the beginning of the conference.

    Wrote the tipster:

I‘ve got a close friend who works at Microsoft, previously with the HD-DVD division and now in the E&D division (Xbox, zune). I’m told MS will upstage Apple with a Monday 9am PDT announcement (1 hour before WWDC) via press release that the Xbox 360 will get Blu-Ray before Christmas. Price was “under the current Eliteâ€, but i could get any more details

    http://gizmodo.com/5014340/rumor-mic...y-announcement

How does that upstage anything to do with the iPhone? I don't really think anyone will be talking all that much about another Blu Ray drive really.

  9. Perhaps you're just taking such a negative approach that you can't possibly enjoy it? Have you tried just driving around for a bit? Ignore the missions, grab a fast car and evade the police for a bit? Get a helicopter? An NRG 900 motorbike? The multiplayer is great fun too.

Also if you're getting killed during the missions make friends with Jacob, then you can buy body armour from him, most on-foot missions have body armour and health hidden around (which respawns in time). Take cover a lot and use the right stick to aim for the head, pull the trigger for a moment and release, so you only fire one or two bullets (like you would in counter strike or rainbow six) so that the accuracy stays on. I often just use the pistol and kill people in one shot.

Seriously you'll have to approach the game more optimistically, remember it's a sandbox-type title and just try to have fun. Otherwise yep, you're probably right- this isn't for you- you should sell it now while you can still get a decent price for it.

Possibly. My main concern with it is, what exactly is there to do in the game? There's not exactly a great deal, with Roman asking you to go drink with him, which is fun the first time as you see the effect, after that it's just like everything else.

Crackdown was a laugh because I played it co-op and got achievements messing around. There doesn't seem to be any of that in this game. I'm just going to leave it for a couple of months I think, maybe go back to it eventually.

  10. I'm really starting to hate it. I just can't see why this game is getting 10's every where. I might even just sell it.

I'm finding every mission to be utterly boring and when I die more than once in a mission it becomes even more tedious. I've never understood the facination with GTA and now I've actually played one I understand it even less.

  11. The other character is Sherry from RE2.

The same clip was at the very end of the previous trailer and the creators have confirmed her as being in the game.

Seing as 'Umbrella' have her and she's suspended in water, it's a fair assumption to say she been/being studied/experimented on.

If you go to the very first page and post in this thread she's shown there.

This game is looking ridiculously good. I can't be bothered to go back and play through the first 3 chapters again in Resi 4 so not sure whether this will be worth a purchase for me. Look really excellent though.

  12. Apparently Take Two are turning BioShock into a trilogy (plus film and probably more stuff).

They'll have to do something really special to win me over...BioShock is the type of game that should be left as just one standalone game.

I sort of agree. I want more Bioshock but I kinda think it should be left.

  13. Well, it doesn't work at all with 40 GB ps3, works completly (via emotion engine/hardware) in 20 gb and 60 gb ntsc ps3 (there aren't 20 GB PAL PS3s anyway), it works partially in the 60 gb PAL and 80 gb ps3 , because it's emulated via software (like 360).

Which means all currently sold PS3s wont play PS2 games, and the one I own doesn't either.

    *bring conversation back to Xbox*

  14. So are you saying it's now possible to copy the 'backwards compatibility data' (or hack it) onto a standard 40Gb?

(I know this is a 360 thread btw people)

Yeah, because it certainly isn't working for me. Would be good if it was as it would mean I could play Okami without having to keep the PS2 out.

Not sure you understand what you're saying, but I don't think so it's not very feasible

You've confused me :wtf: Are you saying PS3 backwards compatibility works or not?

  15. I'm getting really pissed off with the 360's lack of backward compatibility with some game. I want to buy MGS Sons of Liberty, Chronicles of Riddick and Brothers in Arms RTH30/EIB, but I can't play them... :nono:

You should try owning a PS3. I want to play Shadow of the Colossus without having a PS2 hooked up.
