  1. Thats a bit of a bastard isn't it? I don't think I will ever be able to do it. Might as well have a go though. I'm so adicted to it. I love the fact that it's so challenging, yet if you can't do it, you know that it's all your own fault for not being good enough. That's what annoys me about a lot of games, you can't pass because something in the game is holding you back (controls, camera etc.)

  2. I was definitely thinking about telling the angencies, the trouble is, my parents are not very understanding people. They tell me I have to have a job, and if they knew I'd turned down 2 jobs this week they'd have gone mental at me. I can understand that they need money and it's not like I'm against paying board, they want £30 a week but I can only afford £15 at the moment. I really don't think I can tell them.

  3. What should I do about my parents though? Should I just not tell them about anything? Should I tell the agencies I'm not interested in production work?

What kinda career do you want ?

Does an office Junior appeal to you at all ? Could be a good way to get a stable job and regular income. Is there many office type job opportunities in Tamworth ?

You'll probably start at the bottom of the pay scale but if you asert yourself could work your way up. You shoudnt have a problem getting a job in an office with your grades but thats if you fancy doing the mundane office stuff such as typing letters, photocopying, telephones etc.

I think perhaps you should do some shop work whilst you sort out what career path you want to take...i.e go to college and learn something new etc etc.

Shop work should be very easy to find and are always good as a temporary job to get a bit of income whilst doing courses or looking for another full time job.

Office junior is something that does interest me. Even mundane stuff like typing letters, I wouldn't mind in the slightest, I like doing things like that on computer, sad as I am, Obviously I would like to work my way up. If I go to college, I'd like to do night courses rather than full time study.

Oh, and apparently, job opportunities are a bit low at the moment. I sent out about 15 letters to shops recently and got nothing but a couple of 'we've got no vancancies' replies. I'm going to a connexions office tomorrow, so I might look for Office junior positions.

  4. I have C's in English, Maths, and Science at GCSE level, I have a D in A2 ICT. And obviously I have a fork lift license. My only experience is 2 shite jobs in production and my day last week packing bits of wood.

I want to do more courses in IT and Computer courses. Thats my main interest. I'm not looking for a massive ammount of money, all I want is a job where I can work in a quiet environment with a few people, and a job where I don't get so stressed I wish I wasn't alive.

  5. I need some advice on my current situation.

Last December I left a really shit production job at a factory that was paying minimum wage. I literally couldn't stand it anymore, and I thought I'd easily get a job elsewhere so I left. I've been unemployed ever since.

So I recently did a fork lift truck course and passed, and I really thought I'd have a job easy, but so far I've not found a single vacancy. I decided I'd go to a couple of agencies to help me get a job driving a fork lift truck.

Trouble is, all they've given me so far are shitty packing, and production jobs. I did one day last week and the whole day I just wanted to die, I actually stood there and wondered why I'm even bothering to live.

My parents are having a go at me to get a job (I do want one, I'm not really lazy) and they say I can't turn down anything, but when the agencies call and offer me work I'm making excuses saying I can't do it. My parents don't know.

I can't go on like this. What do you think I should do? Should I leave the agencies? I've been applying for office jobs and any fork lift drivers jobs that come available but there aren't really any at the moment. This is making me really miserable, and I'm already on tablets for depression. Like I said I'm not lazy, if a job came available in an office, or driving a fork lift I'd snap it up in a second.

    Help.

  6. Is anyone like me where you hear from someone that a particular game is good which makes you want to complete it, but it just seems like a chore, rather than being fun?

I'm like that with loads and loads of games. Metroid Prime and Resident Evil are the worst ones. I'm not a big fan of sitting there all tense for long periods of time when I'm meant to be having a laugh playing a game. That's why enjoy Super Monkey Ball, Zelda, Shenmue etc.

I find so many games really boring but because someone has said it's a great game I think, ahhh I should get into this.

  7. Shenmue II

This is actually my favourite ever moment probably.

    GIF_shenmue_rooftop_fight2.gif

After AGES of working your way up to the top of the Yellowhead bldg with Ren(and meeting Joy on the way), you finally get to the roof. You see Yuandu Zhu and Zong being held captured by Dou Noi, who you then fight for the HARDEST fight of the game. It takes a while to beat him and then you finally do and you get superb satisfaction.

Ryo then looks up to the Helicopter to see Lan Di( ) staring directly into his eyes, to which they both stare with wonder and hatred. What makes this so special is the fact that you haven't seen Lan Di since the very start of Shenmue, and after hours and hours (probably over 100) of journeying in Shenmue I and II you finally see him, it made me go all cold inside!

Suppose i've said a bit much lol :awesome: Well I'm a bit of a Shenmue lover.

I think thats mine too. I also love the end to the 1st one, it was really emotional, which is strange because games don't ever make me like that. I also love the start to Shenmue II the music as you're on the boat was amazing, cus you're thinking, at last the I get to find out the next part of the story.

I suppose seeing Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast the 1st time was pretty amazing. Also finishing expert mode on Monkey Ball, cus I was so determined to do it.

  8. I used to have FFVIII on PSone but my save was deleted when I was on the second disc and I never bothered with it afterwards. I always wanted to get FFVII and FFIX aswell but When you're 12 it's hard to get the cash. Doubt I'll ever play them now. Unless I ever get a PS2, which is unlikely due to my bitterness at the death of the Dreamcast. Would buy a PSone but meh dunno.

  9. Can't wait till the summer, when my exams are over.

First thing I'm going to do is head on down to Gamestation, buy a Dreamcast, then role on up to eBay and buy Shenmue I and II.

I still can't beleive I sold back my original Dreamcast with Shenmue, and Virtua Tennis. :(

I did the same thing mate. Didn't have Virtua Tennis, but did have Soul Calibur : ( Might have to have another play through Shenmue II. My Dreamcast has been sitting gathering dust for a while.

  10. I find it quite off putting during quieter points in games and especially in films. The Dreamcast and PS2 had a similar problem, they aren't as bad as the XBox 360 but I still notice it at times.

I'll probably buy one anyway, but I was wondering if there have been any rumblings of an update with the PS3 on the way.

Worse than the jet engine that was Dreamcast? *I Love Dreamcast*

  11. That is one of my most precious gaming memories. The fact that they just spung it on us with the epic music from Conan and then reaction of the crowd when they see Link it all brought tears to my eyes. Then there was the crazy Yank shouting " YOU DA MAN!!" when Shigsy came out.

Haha, yeah and him shouting "Oh my God! Oooh shit!" during the Zelda trailer.

  12. I keep trying to play Resident Evil. I really hate it, yet I really want to love it. I just get nowhere with the puzzles and stuff, wandering around not knowing what to do, and it's not exactly a game where you want to wander around for too long. Trying it with a walkthrough, which is pointless really since it completely ruins the atmosphere. I love Resi 4 though, just got stuck on 3-1 and have only recently rebought it.

Also with Viewtiful Joe, does anyone else find it really repetitive? I do like it, but i can't play it for too long as I get really bored, of just going along, dodge attack, slow down, then attack 3-4 enemies, time after time.

I've finished my other 5 Gamecube games :-( Need to play Grandia II on Dreamcast though. And Ocarina of Time.

  13. WiiConnect24 sounds sweet, all we need now is them to sort out the online service for setting up games and it'll be awesome.

Yeah, this sounds great, I'm just so annoyed if they use seperate friends codes for each game. For me, if they just had a friend code for each Wii, then, when you type it in you get them come up on your contact list managed in the Wii home menu. Then you can send them messages etc. from there and that list is then used in all of your online games. Simple, practical, and most of all could still be for free (It's similar to MSN is it not?)

What do you guys reckon? Good idea?

  14. This is probably the only time i will ever get the same game twice, seriously.

I'm actually considering getting Gamecube and Wii versions of it. I'd never do that with any other game. Think I may play OOT over the next couple of months since I'm running short of games to play now. Getting really excited now.

Well it's really getting on my nerves.

To be fair to the guy, when I came to look at the image yesterday it was just a red X.

  15. Fish I think I love you and your dad. I was beginning to think I was the only person who thought the HD 'revolution' is completely pointless. It's not like I'm squinting at the TV currently trying to make out what the colourful shapes could be. For me the lack of HD in the Wii is excellent as I don't particularly want to have to pay more for something I don't have and am not interested in. However the whole online thing is a bit bad on Nintendo's part.

It's not pointless, the picture quality is great. But at the current price of everything it's probably not worth it just yet.

  16. Did anyone ever complete pikmin 2? Some of those later underground caves (in the Wistful wild level) were insanely hard. I remember losing 70 pikmin in 1 cave and only came out with half the treasure.

I finished the debt, but the last couple of caves are insane. I stormed through it until I tried the last couple of caves and the difficulty shoots up suddenly. Once I got the debt paid off I couldn't be bothered to carry on. Having played both I now actually think the original is a better game. Pikmin 2 has many plus points over the first but i think that the first was a nicer game to play.
