  1. Season 2 was far better than the shorter Season 1, it built upon the characters, some say this was too slow, and let you feel as part of their group. When someone was lost you personally felt it. I loved the pacing of the second season, also its continuity was fluid. It rarely jumped around, but followed a single narrative through the group's survival enhancing the feeling of isolation and loss when the shit hits the fan. The 3rd season is narratively all over the place, one episode Rick's saying something, then it's on to Woodbury, then Tyreese, Michonne, back to Rick who's now saying something different, then characters disappear for a whole episode and you don't know what's up with them. And, through all these problems this is by far the best TV I've watched since Season 2.

  2. its a completely disgusting practice that bribes and gifts can influence a metacritic rating, especially given the weight that a lot of industries and financial backing put upon them

It's called lobbying, it happens in American politics all the time, gifts for favours basically, and the Americans seem oblivious to the corruption that allowing this causes. IGN, for example, have on a number of articles and podcasts I've listened to, especially the latter, mentioned gifts from gaming companies and made fun of the 'crap' gift and then followed up by saying they'll take that into consideration when scoring their game. I'm paraphrasing, and they do say all that in a joking manner, but to think that a nice gift won't sway a final score is acting in ignorance in my mind.

  3. Finished downloading this last night, and gave the first mission a go. It was so good that I played the 1st mission twice, and managed to get the gem on my second run through. I can see that this game is going to be awesome for multiple playthrough's, due to its shorter levels based on missions.

Can't wait until tonight to give the 2nd mission a go.

  4. No mention of my specific glitch, I've installed the patch and nothing has changed, still stuck. So, I'll start again, but only after finishing Batman, NFS and MH3. Bye bye for a while ZombiU.

  5. Aaah, I spoke too soon.

So, I did all the bits in the Queen's quarter, including getting the USB with the download on it, all fine. Escaped the underground Palace section. Worked my way onto topside, just outside the Palace gates, where a audio cut scene, and then some fire bombing takes place. Made my way back to the safe house, saved and then opened the metal container to grab my loot and tried to carry on. Didn't know where the hell I was going, and after an hour decided to look at a guide which stated that upon opening the storage chest in the safe house it should have triggered a cutscene with the Prepper, and then onto a Zombie shoot-out just outside the safe house area. This did not happen, and the game is still telling me my mission objective is to 'Kill the Doc', even though I have completed all the mission objectives after that (it's not green ticked whilst all the others are). So, I decided to make my way to the Tower of London anyway, to the evacuation point, and yep, no helicopter, no nothing.

So, after all that it does seem like it's buggered and I'll have to do it all again from scratch, I just don't know what went wrong though???

  6. I read somewhere (late last night) that there was a patch that would arrive within 24 hours, meaning at the latest it should be with us by the end of the day.

I got it already, about 12 hours ago. Go get it, don't know what it does yet though.

  7. @dazzybee Haven't got the USB yet because it won't let me move on. I got the C4 and blew up the wall letting me through to the kitchen and back to the safe house, where I saved. Now though, I can only choose to go to the kitchen in the Palace and the Underground Palace section, via the shortcut (those are the only 2 places available to visit), If I go to the Palace bunker I then can't leave that place, all doors bar one is locked, and it won't let me return via the sewer shortcut. The door that is open leads to the fallen bridge, and is supposed to have a duct open, but my duct is welded shut????

Are you saying to go back to the safe house and walk all the way to the Palace again (the long way)? I will try first thing tomorrow morning, during my Wednesday morning session.

    Thanks Dazzybee.

  8. Just found a game breaking glitch. Shit had got so far.

Got into the Palace again, cleared it out, killed the 2 pad disrupter zombies. Worked on and through to the previously flame ridden doorway. Hacked the door to the kitchen area. Now, the next room is telling me there are 4 zombies inside, with the Doc. Quickly work out he is a zombie now, so chuck in flare, they congregate and wham get them all in one go with a well placed grenade. So far so good. Clear the room and rip out the Doc's eye. Continue forth into the keycoded room, collect the spoils, clear the kitchen, and return to the safehouse, and save. Wow, good going me thinks.

Return to the game after a coffee break, and it's asking me to kill the Doc???? Anyway, I go to the Palace underground and to the bridge which is now down, walkthroughs tell me that there is a duct, can't find it, can find a grated over duct??? Try to go back to the safe house, and it won't let me select any location on the map. Quickly restart from save point and go to the Palace, to 'KILL THE DOC' except he is one happy corpse, in fact I can remove his eye again, but can't kill the bugger (even though he is lying very very still, so still you'd think he was dead), tried all weapons, and my foot, bat, etc. I grenaded his peaceful dead arse and he is just a torso, no head, arms nor legs, but apparently not dead. That's one tough zombie.

    Anyone come across this problem?

Edit: Just read up on how to do this section and it does seem to be game breaking glitch. Damn

  9. I am absolutely flabbergasted at the price of Resident Evil Mercenaries. What a great way to sell more copies quickly. Take note Nintendo, it's time for a massive sale on old games. I'd buy Steel Diver, etc for around 8 quid.

  10. Andrea's OK, she's made a few shit decisions, and now it's come back to haunt her big time.

It's time for them to focus on the final war now, though, enough dicking around.

If they don't get a move on, the last episode will have to be an hour and half special, well I can wish can't I.

  11. went to buy this, this morning and Game don't have it.

Anybody know where I can pick it up for less than £45.

If your buying online then I'd recommend The Hut, I picked it up for 35 quid with their discount voucher. Currently it's retailing at 37.98 UK pounds.

  12.

Here's the full message which explains that they were waiting for the USK, the German Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body to finish their analysis of the Parental Controls...the reason it took so long was cause the USK took so long to get back to them. The restriction was prolly just Nintendo being overly cautious to avoid any possible fines while they waited for the USK to get back them

Then, why didn't Nintendo clarify this situation in full to its consumers at the time when perpetual rumours about their treatment of the aforementioned 'core gamers' was put into question?

They only needed to say, "We're on the case, but the USK are so slow...blah, blah...". This would have alleviated many a sleepless night for those so inclined.

  13. @shin_kagato It is possible to regain this weapon as when 'lost' they will respawn in the game somewhere. IIRC I think @Mokong X\-C once said that it will respawn in the area you originally got it from, but at a different location.

    Off for another go.

And, just finished that go. Got quite a lot done in a short space of time.

Refuelled the generator after boshing Vicrim's dead head in, obtained the keycard decoder upgrade for the scanner, awesome. I am now on a mission to collect all 7 Dee letters, collected the Tower of London one today and have only 2 more to go. Did pick up hell of a lot of weaponry today.

My 8th survivor is going well so far, but The Church looms in the distance

  14. The shotgun was particularly effective against the nurse 'pad disrupter'. Three close proximity shots and it was all over for her. I had previously seen the extra scare scan on a trailer, so it didn't catch me out, wish it did though, oh well!

Well, finished that nursery section, yey, but managed to lose 2 survivors in the process. One upon evacuation, the other later, outside. Anyway, managed to recover all my goods and some extra weaponry off a zombie player who I don't know. Does this game add zombies who are not on you're friend list.
