  2. The start of my complete playthrough of Paper Mario: The Origami King.  Won't be putting these every day, but about 2-3 a week.

[Lee Plays] Paper Mario: The Origami King (Part 1)

Old Nintendo Gamer starts the adventure of a lifetime. Does he fold over and die, or triumphantly stick-out. Find out in Part 1.

  3. I have, there's basically two versions of the motion controls.  Pointer, just tries to duplicate the Wii Mote pointer, but in my eyes is a bit of a disaster, the amount of recalibration required is crazy.  Every 5 seconds you're pressing the R button to recalibrate.  However, and fortunately, the stick control to line up the majority of the direction, and the gyro used as a fine tuning pointer, works much better.

Part 1 is us playing with the gyro as a pointer.

And Part 2 we changed to the stick, and fine tuning gyro.

  4. Last episode of The Messenger has rolled.  Great game, with hugely frustrating sections, made worse by an imprecise double jump mechanic that often felt random.

[Lee Plays] The Messenger (Part 36)

Old Nintendo Gamer plays the Music Box for its last time, and watches the credits roll. It’s all over!

  6. Tried the demo of Cake Bash that popped up on the eShop, my son is quiet in this video, as he says he was really concentrating, as usual I'm blabbing away far too much.

[Together] Cake Bash Demo (First Look)

Old Nintendo Gamer & Son give all the modes and fun mini-games a run through in this first look at what the Cake Bash demo’s got baking in the oven.

  7. I got given an Indie developer code for the soon to be released Shmubedi Boo.  At first glance it looks a little un-interesting, but it controls well, and gets very difficult, very quickly.  Here's my first look, and over the next few days I'll have a few other videos with my son, too.  2-player is more competitive.

[Lee Plays] Shmubedi Boo (First Look)

Old Nintendo Gamer takes a very quick look at the upcoming eShop title Shmubedi Boo. A quirky 2D platformer that tasks you to collect many apples.

Finally, just want to clear something up: the 50th episode PodPals will allow Mario Spinoffs as well, right? You mentioned platformers, but anything from Mario's history (Mario Kart, Paper Mario, etc.) works as well, right?

We were initially going to concentrate on Platformers, but you can talk about any game that has featured Mario, and we'll include your thoughts.

  10. We are going old-school and traversing the attractions of NintendoLand, starting in Samus' Arena.  This game still looks and more importantly plays amazingly.  Reworked Switch Port, please.

[Let’s Play: Together] NintendoLand: Metroid Blast (Part 1)

Old Nintendo Gamer & Son take it to the Geemers as they blast through the first 10 missions of Metroid Blast (missions 1-10).

  11. It's been a while again since I last posted, and my The Messenger playthrough is up to Part 25 today, and our Borderlands co-op playthrough is up to Part 20.

As for what else I've been up to, how about tackling the longest ever track in a trials game, hypnotically mesmerising.

[Lee Plays] Trials Rising (Part 1) Gigatrack

Old Nintendo Gamer tackles Trials Rising's longest and biggest track, and the biggest that has ever appeared in the franchise's history. Can he even make it through to the end?

      transition tune (Hide contents)

Hmm, I wonder... could it possibly be that the transition tunes are all from Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate by any chance?

Great Podcast Extras section at the end there too.

I think that calls for a shameless plug of Old Nintendo Gamer and Son because it's a great channel you've built up there @Londragon :peace:

    Shameless,

    Spoiler

Well done, Sam.  And, unlucky Jonnas, right series, but wrong game.  Nice try.
