  1. =Music Wars 2= Match 19

Probably the only Stereophonics song that I've ever really liked that much, even so I probably have to go with Rolling Stones as well.
  2. N-E Picture Caption Game

Zombie attempt to improve their public image with the "Love the undead (within reasonable moral grounds)" campaign.
  3. The Music Thread.

I poo'd slightly reading that line-up. If only I had the money to get my arse to the USA.
  4. Obama's Year

Bit of a generalisation, but I think it's just the general attitude of the American public (or at least media) that anything less than full on, no holds capitalism is communism and therefore evil. Also there seems to be a tremendous sense of self-entitlement; that nothing should cross personal rights, even if that means treading all over someone elses rights. I might just be Fox news that gives this impression though.
  5. Let's save Cadbury's heritage!

They didn't need to be purchased, Cadbury has been doing fine and was in no danger of going under. This was an unwelcome hostile takeover bid. Thing I hate is that this is a British company that has remained independent for over 150 years and is part of British heritage. Now it's in the hands of Americans who most likely don't give a shit about that heritage. I can't see them continuing the quaker traditions that the company have attempted to maintain to some extent. But then that's capitalism for you, sell your granny for a quick buck.
  6. Make your own David Cameron poster!

I can't be the only one who see's the similarity.
  7. The Materialism Thread (a.k.a Things I Want)

Pfft, the moon. Stop thinking so small. This is my ultimate aim: Tonight I will be doing what I do every night Pinky, planning to take over the world!
  8. N-E Picture Caption Game

Japanese surrealist porn is never really going to take off in the mass market.
  9. How was your day?

Aye, I'm listening at the mo n'all. Makes searching and applying for jobs that I will never get slightly more pleasant. Jordan was a terrorist?
  10. The Riddle Thread

More a logic puzzle here. You have three cards laid out: To the right of a king there's a queen or two queens. To the left of a queen there is a queen or two queens. To the left of a heart is a spade or two spades. To the right of a spade is a spade or two spades. What are the three cards?
  11. N-E Picture Caption Game

Alright, I'm calling time on this. Good round people, nods go to DuD and Dwarf gourami, but the winner is.... Daft for: Subtly filthy, unless it wasn't meant to be and my mind is just in the gutter.
  12. The Riddle Thread

Shit, but it's not recommended. As for the original question I would say either night or the universe given the accelerating expansion rate.
  13. How was your day?

Really? No Way, I'm sure I've always found the moon when I've looked for it. And don't mock my denseface, it's not my fault I was born like this. Well I went to work today, which was still open despite half the staff not making it in. Looks like customers didn't make it in either as the place was completely dead. So I got to go home an hour early, woop! Not sure if we'll bother opening tomorrow. Also I made a small snow rabbit and sat in an igloo during lunch.
  14. N-E Picture Caption Game

My attention has just been brough to this. Why thank ye buddy. Here's hoping this photo of Jay-Z and partner brings some good tag lines. Let's go!
  15. Your town

Well Donnington Bridge way, which is technically South Oxford but seeing as there is bugger all there and Iffley Road is five minutes away I count it as such. Hopefully I'm going to end my year in Oxford soon and head back up Midlands way. Most likely yes, it's rare I walk down Cowley Road and not smell weed from somewhere.
  16. How was your day?

Yeah booooy! After weeks of hearing the news constantly talking about snow we finally get some, about damn time. So far there is 12cm outside, expecting 30-40cm by the morning. Here's hoping work is shut due to nobody being able to reach it tomorrow. Also, a conundrum that has been bothering me today. Often you can see the moon during the day, surely this means that it is night on the opposite side of the world but there is no moon. How can this be or am I just being dense.
  17. Annoying trends.

People describing everything as random. Getting a text from someone is not sooooo random. Find some other adjectives please.
  18. Your town

My home town of Oxford is known for looking a bit like this: but I'm down with eastside Oxford, dats where my dawgs at you know what I'm saying. East Oxford looks a bit more like this: Anyway, overall it is quite good, lovely pubs but expensive drinks. Could do with a few more decent venues.
  19. N-E Picture Caption Game

"The government strongly denies lowering the education standards of nurses despite evidence suggesting otherwise"
  20. Mock The Thread

"Living with me will be a breeze....and by breeze I mean I do some horrific farts." "At last....I think we're alone now. At least there doesn't seem to be anyone around. The beating of our hearts are the only sound. So how about it?"
  21. How was your day?

Ditto. Had too many rum cocktails last night. Also it doesn't yet feel like christmas yet. I am still in bed though, so maybe I'll get up and go to the toilet and see what happens.
  22. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU, N-EUROPE!!!

I love you guys. Merry Christmas one and all.
  23. Mock The Thread

    See above.
  24. Rate the last film you saw

Paranormal Activity: Originally I was meant to see Avatar, which was all good as I had been drinking a fair bit before hand and that could only improve the whole visual effects thing. Unfortunately the cinema was closed due to a power failure, so we went two minutes round the corner to another cinema. Man this film is fantastic. I'm not usually that affected by films, but man this creeped me right the fuck out. The timing and structure of the film is impecable in building the suspense and considering there are only three actors in the whole thing it really holds the attention. There were a few moments that I thought were a bit too staged, which sort of broke the realism, but wasn't that jarring. The sound effects were superbly subtle as well adding to the general unease. Basically if you liked Blair Witch when it first came out in the cinema and like slow built psychological horror you'll love this. If you didn't like Blair Witch you suck and don't deserve this film.
