  1. Donkey Kong Country Returns

Been playing the NTSC version with my bud. We're at World 7 now. I love it, to me it capture a lot of the essence and feel of the original DKC, but adds a bunch of cool current-gen stuff. One thing we're yet to understand though, is why Diddy has jetpacks and peanut guns while Donkey has nothing. I find it strange that Nicktendo didn't like it as it's probably the best Wii game I've picked up in a loooong time.
  2. HDTV Thread

Hey guys! I'm considering getting a Sony KDL52Z4500 as I've gotten myself the opportunity to buy one for £866. It's a 200Mhz 52" LCD Sony screen and it usually retailed for about £1841 when it was new. Anyone here have any experience with this screen or similar ones? I've tried looking up reviews and they all basically said it was too expensive, but in my situation, that's not the case =P I really don't know much about TV's, any tips would help! =D
  3. Building a new computer

Hey everyone! It's been over 5 years since I last built my computer (which crashed big time a year ago or so) and I recently started working a computer store, so I got inspired to build me a new computer. Problem is, I haven't been following hardware ever since I built my old computer. So basically, I've narrowed down some stuff I want to put in it, but I'm having trouble deciding my motherboard (mobo). So it's either between the GA-P55A-UD series (either UD4, 5 or 6) (Socket 1156). Or the GA-X58A-UD3R (Socket 1336) I was pretty set on going with the UD5, but then I realized it's only got 4 RAM slots, and to secure myself for the future I want 6. And that meant having to go with the UD6, which I think is a bit too much of a monster board with a bit too much stuff I'll never need (like two RJ45 ports, wth?!) But what I'm really wondering is, should I go with socket 1156 or 1336? I mean I just discovered the X58A-UDR3R under 10 minutes ago and it seems to be perfect for me, and it's a lot cheaper than the P55A-UD6. But I'm still uncertain if there are any pro's and con's with the different sockets that I might not be aware of. Oh and here's a quick idea of my planned setup in case anyone's wondering: Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD6 Intel Core i7-860 2860MHz LGA1156 8M or GA-X58A-UDR3R Intel Core I7-930 2800MHZ And the other stuff: Kingston HyperX 6GB DDR3 Kit Nexus RX-6300 Samsung HD103UJ And if my economy allows it, I'll throw in a Intel X25-M SSD drive. I've already got the casing from my prev. PC wich I think should be good enough for a while. And I'm hoping that the stock cooling for the i7-860 will be good enough for a while. I'll just have to live with the noise. Oh! almost forgot. When it comes to those yellow USB ports on the gigabyte mobo's, do they transfer data aswell? or are they just there to power eSATA drives or something? I'm really unsure of how eSATA actually works. And I haven't been looking into the issue of graphics cards yet. I have no idea when it comes to Radeon numbers, so comparing to GeForce is tricky to me. I'll prolly end up with the GTX275 or something around those numbers.
  4. Building a new computer

In case anyone's wondering, I ended up with this setup and I'm really happy with it: GA-X58A-UD7 Intel i7-930 Gigabyte Radeon HD5850 Kingston KHX1600C9D3K3/6GX Intel X-25 80GB SSD Western Digital WD20EADS (2TB HDD) LG GGW-H20L (Blu-Ray Read/Write HD DVD Read) Sony 24x DVD Burner Logitech G15 Logitech G5 A recomended setup! ^^,
  5. Top ten necessary sequels

HAHAHA, OMG! I only played RCT the original and a little of RCT2. I've GOT to get RCT3 now! xD
  6. Top ten necessary sequels

    1. Shenmue (if you didn't write this yourself, you haven't played Shenmue 1&2) 2. Blast Corps 3. Bully Can't think of any more right now.. I'd love a Ocarina of Time remake on a newer console.. *staing hopeful for next generation*
  7. Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver

Are most people here playing the US version or what? I just got my EUR version in the mail a few hours ago and I thought I got it early xD Oh the nostalgia this game brings. I'm two hours into it now.
  8. Building a new computer

Thanks! Hope you'll return with more info whenever you can =P I've been looking over some GPU's as I realized I actually NEED a GPU from scratch (lol @ me failing to realize the GA mobo's don't have GPU's built-in xP) I'm considering getting a Gigabyte Radeon HD4350 just to have any GPU untill I decide to get a more powerful and perhaps gaming suited GPU. And of those "real" GPU's I'm considering ASUS GF GTX275 or ASUS GF GTX285 Problem is, I really don't have ANY idea of what kind of games I'll be playing.. Or if I'll be playing games at all. PC games really lost me with BF2's release. And as you might know it's been a few years since that released =P (I mean are there even any good PC exclusive games out there any more?!) (*prepares for some kind of flaming*) Oh and a quick question that I've been pondering... How GPU dependent is video editing? Like will having a stronger GPU make any difference for rendering speed in Adobe Premiere? Thanks again
  9. Borderlands

I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to post, but me and my mate are playing right now and would love some help with the latest add-on (The Underdome) from equally leveled (lvl 50) players. Hit me up on live if you wanna join ^^ (Gamertags: Adrian DX and oddbjoernbalci)
  10. Shenmue

Yeah, It's kind of weird. But even with me just starting on the third disc of the first game now, I know that I'm gonna be frustrated knowing that the story is unfinished even by the end of the second game. Oh and as you probably understood, I got disc 2 working. Dunno how, but after 30 tries it just worked. But seeing how short Disc 2 was, I'm getting worried I won't get a hold of Shenmue 2 by the time I'm done with disc 3 O.o
  11. Shenmue

Hahah, I totally mistyped that thing. I meant the man who killed my father, omg xD Anyways, what? disappointed because there is no Shenmue 3? I know theres only two games out, and that the future is dark for the Shenmue franchise except from the racing game.
  12. Shenmue

AAagghhh, A couple of years ago, I bought Shenmue PAL of someone on here (edit: Eddage) and only two days ago I finally got my hands on a PAL Dreamcast to play it on (Both PAL and US Shenmue isn't compatable on JAP DC's even with Utopia... I've experienced that the hard way) Anyways, I just got to Disc 2. I saved my game (start save for disc 2) and did like the game told me to (opened tray, switched to disc 2), but when selecting Play on the DC menu, it loads to the "Produced by etc. etc. Sega" screen, and then it returns to the menu! What do do?! Disc 2 is 100% clean, not a scratch on it and Disc 1 had some scratches, but played perfectly. *needs to find his father*
  13. USB KVM-like solution?

Hi! I've recently bought a small wireless USB keyboard for use with my Wii, but I want some way to split the signal so I can use it on my PS3 and Xbox as well without having to move the dongle between the devices. So a KVM-like solution would be awesome, but I don't need the VGA/DVI output/inputs at all and I've been looking around the net alot, but I can't seem to find anything like this. So do anyone here know if such a solution exists, and if so, what's it called? Thanks in advance! ^^
  14. USB KVM-like solution?

Thanks man, but most the switches on there had VGA/DVI etc. on them. I'd like to avoid that. I think I found some on eBay that might work out. I just hope that the hotkey function will work properly. And it seems like I'm the only person on the net who has thought of using these switches for game consoles xD
  15. Fallout 3

http://kotaku.com/5360741/free-fallout-3-premium-360-theme-for-dlc-fans Apparently you're supposed to get a redeem code on your e-mail or something for it, if you've purchased all the 5 DLC add-ons before Sept. 22nd. I've bought every DLC, but I can't seem to have received the code. Anyone else got it/haven't got it yet? xP I'm starting to think it's an american-only type thing
  16. Apple says "fuck no!" to plug and play?
  17. PC Gaming Discussion

I'm gonna ask for some tech help on Paperman. Anyone remember Paperman? It was announced at TGS06 and playable at TGS07 (played it there myself). Anyways, today I got around to register an account and download it, but after running the exe and letting the game update, I press start, but then nothing happens. Anyone got any ideas as to how I could fix this? I've tried setting every language setting on my Windows XP to Japanese, but that didn't solve anything. Sorry if this should have been posted somewhere else =)
  18. Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver

Yeah, most kids who play Pokémon here in Norway are at an age where they can't read English at all, but they work it out. Same thing, different language clash =)
  19. PlayStation 3 Console Discussion

I'm sure I'd do a mistake by making a new topic about this so here goes: I borrowed a PS3 from a friend about a year back to play Initial D Extreme Stage and now I'm getting my own PS3 and I want to move my saved games, BUT the geniouses who made the game copy protected the save. So I thought I'd be a smart-ass and take the HDD out of the system, hook it up to my PC and backup the files from there. This would have worked like a charm... If it weren't for the fact that Sony decided to make their own write format for the PS3 HDD. So what I'm wondering is: Are there any tools/programs out there that can read the PS3 HDD format? If not, I guess I'm screwed =P
  20. Battlefield 1943

I just got it. But for some odd reason, the game doesn't find any fights/battles/matches (lol) for me to join. By the way, anyone who has this game, or is definately going to get it, please add me on XBL =)
  21. Fallout 3

I dunno if The Pitt is to blame, but yesterday, after installing The Pitt and walking around in some Metro Station on my way to the Lincolm Memorial. My Xbox froze, I restarted it, started playing again and it froze after a few minutes and when I then tried to restart the machine, it gave me a RRoD =( I played alot before "activating" The Pitt and it was right after the radio distress call thingy popped up that it froze. Thank god my GF has an Xbox and that we live together, instant replacement Xbox xP
  22. Fallout 3

Woah, weird bugs. I'm getting The Pit when I get home from school. Hope they'll fix those bugs very soon though. How many points was it?
  23. Resident Evil 5

We've had this discussion in RL thousands of times, but the difference is that I have actually finished RE4 now. And I still stand with the same conclusion. The end just took exactly what I said from the very beginning and did everything I think made RE4 less like a RE game and threw it right in my face. Or do any of you other guys remember that scene from Resident Evil 2 with the huge volcano room and the two giant trolls stomping you? Cuz I sure as hell don't
  24. Resident Evil 5

I got it yesterday. I think it's an awesome game, but just like RE4 I don't get that Resident Evil feeling at all. But thus far I think I like it better than Resi 4. Starting chapter 3-1 when i get home from school. Looking forward to what will happen next story-wise.
  25. Guitar Hero: World Tour

I'm gonna try making some stuff in the Music Creator.. My first project will be by Four Year Strong, but before I start that project, I'll have to borrow me an extra bass pedal xP Anyone on here playing this game on Xbox? I want the band-based achievements, but getting a band v band match going on Live seems like it should be an achievement itself O.o
