  1. @Ganepark32 I hope you don't get it or if you do get it mild, but even then a friend of mine got it with very mild symptoms and he was on his arse for a few days, so please be careful and keep well

Lockdown is driving me slowly mad, it doesn't help that prior to lockdown i was of work with a broken elbow for 6 weeks, couldn't drive couldn't go out then i get to go back to work for a total of 3 1/2 days before this hit, so i'm really loosing track of days and weeks.

And i could honestly murder my partner, shes working from home, shes the loudest person ever on the phone, its like dom jolly is downstairs doing an episode of trigger happy TV. And somehow i've become her IT specialist, but one she thinks is wrong - "Chris this isn't working" "okay so you do this to fi..." "NO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND", when the reality is she doesn't understand how she's just done something wrong and refuses to listen to how to do it correctly and fix it. I pity her team because i'm one more row whilst i fix her mess from doing a patio and she can supervise from under it

  2. I was knocked off my bike at the start of February, broke my elbow, sever concision and the end result was 6 weeks off work.

I was back at work for all of 4 days before we had to go home and stay home, so whilst the rest of the UK moans about a week at home, i'm on week 7 or is it 8 now? Wilson what is it? he thinks i've gone mad and shouldn't talk to a football

  3. How the hell do they not have every season of the Spiderman Cartoon available from the get go? only season one? come on!  I want to see that cool episode where Cap fights Red Skull into that temporal vortex

I don't think many lessons have been learnt from the Brexit vote and the country still seems to be reeling from that. All of the major issues like healthcare, education, climate change, policing have all been pushed to the side and Brexit has dominated this discussion. The day after the referendum, I said that we would pay the price of that decision for years to come and I have seen absolutely nothing to make me believe that I was wrong.

I'm disappointed in the UK and with the choice that they have made, especially when I think that there is plenty of evidence out there to see the damage that austerity has done to this country. NHS, education and policing cuts have been devastating. Yet, somehow, the Conservatives still got in. Unfortunately, the media have thrown enough labels at Corbyn (communist, Marxist, anti-royal, anti-military, pro-IRA, pro-Palestine) that they have stuck. A bit anecdotal, but when I was discussing the election yesterday with Conservative voters, they immediately dismissed Labour because of Corbyn. That is, unfortunately, a major issue.

The UK media sucks, the voting/election system sucks (we need PR), the choice of parties sucks and yesterday's result sucks. Politics is now just about throwing slogans around and using them again and again until the public think of nothing else. "Get Brexit Done", for example. Well, what many fail to reflect on is that Johnson's bill passed its second reading in Parliament, but the MPs rejected the absurd timetable that Johnson was trying to impose. E.g. he wanted to get his deal through within days, without it being held up to the scrutiny required and deserved. It's fucking unreal. This is a man who has decided to avoid as much of the leaders' debates as possible, too. He has ducked and dived his way through this process and has been let completely off the hook. I am amazed at the hold that this man has over the British public.

I agree with this but also a lot of what Jonathan Pie's latest video said, people have spent the years since brexit saying anyone who voted leave was an idiot and uneducated whilst completely ignoring the fact they can, will and have then rise up and vote against you in protest.

So i guess i'm now in the same stage i was a week after Trump won, hoping it won't be as bad as i fear.........Lets hope this time luck goes the way i want and i'm proved wrong for once because i really really REALLY want to be wrong on all this and it won't be as bad, brexit will be good and i won't be bankrupt and destitute by the next election

  5. Common theory on why it is not releasing here is because of the current distribution rights with Sky, who have their dedicated disney channels and star wars channels. Its theorised that like Disney's contract was with netflix MCU shows, that the contract with Sky will have non compete clauses saying Disney cannot launch a rival service which cannabises Sky's audience. The contract is known to expire next year

I see due to the flop of Season 8 of GOT and Gemini Man, suddenly the D& D produced star wars films aren't happening. Officially they say its to not wear themselves thin between it and the Netflix deal, but that seems a bit of a convenient excuse when the popular thoughts by commentators and speculators alike was they rushed GOT to concentrate on Star Wars - either Disney didn't want the risk given their recent success OR D&D are getting more money from Netflix and are just seeking those dollars

Yeah, Eagle's Tower is my favourite Link's Awakening Dungeon.

The complexity is welcome to me at that point. That said, the improved map screen in the Switch version was very welcome in planning my route. I used the pins to mark where the Red/Blue crystals were, as well as any parts that might have been blocked due to those.

@Aneres11, for the 8th dungeon, I recommend using those pins to mark which staircases connect to each other. There's a lot of them and it can be easy to get lost there.

Pins?........you can put pins on the map?

 why did i miss that

  7. You have some good points there @Ronnie, Season 2 started off great until they made Burnham the Angel, I was routing for it to be Iconians, hell as cliche' as her mother was, that would also be preferable, but shoehorning Burnham into everything is getting old, it makes it seem like the Burnham show with a guest cast, only the rest of the cast is much more likeable and interesting.

Case in point Pike, the Pike centric episodes, all scenes with Pike in charge and Burnham sidelined were spectacular and felt right, but then it shifted back to Burnham. I get she is the star of the show, but that needn't be at the expensive of good or logical story, they have include her, have her reactions, have her POV of events, but the shoehorning? it seems so forced.

And I agree on the emotional stuff to an extent, not the specific examples overly; Ariam however is perfect, she wasn't even a side character, she was an extra and then suddenly she was the focus, now whilst Trek has done this before, this was jarring as we were expected to care. To me it felt like they were doing a Tasha and it was not earned, Tasha had a story, Arium was part of the set.

Tyler/Burnham and Saru/Burnham i am more forgiving of, they were intended to develop her and them, give connections, so i can see the logic and to a degree got it. However for me, Burnham was the prop in character development for Tyler and then Saru, which i get the impression was not the writers intention, who wanted it the otherway round.

Right now, if Burnham was killed off, i wouldn't overly care as the rest of the cast carry the show and its a shame to the actress who does her best with the shonky writing.

I sounds like i hate Disco and i don't i love it, but it feels rushed and like the quality of the writing has suffered because of it when it could be great - Perhaps now its beyond Trek and not shackled to cannon it might work better

  8. I love Discovery BUT even i have to say my least favorite character is Burnham, I didn't like Stammets either for the first season. Conversely i loved Tilly, but on the second season she grated me with how overly cheery and optimistic she was. Frankly i think the issue is the script writers have fallen into the trap of the later series of most sit-coms - exaggerate the characters 'defining' traits, but only of the characters they don't seem to know what exactly to do with!

With Burham, she was raised like a Vulcan but struggles with emotion, so lets make her cold 90% of the time and then suddenly emotional for the other 10%.

Stammets - make him an abnoxious jerk,

Tilly fans loved her optimism and how she wasn't 'perfect', possibly slightly nuts, so lets REALLY play on those in season 2

But it isn't all bad, the characters who they fleshed out (mainly, because they have tried with Burnham) i tended to love, Saru is awsome, complex, growing, questions himself but not to the extreme and over the course of the two seasons became captain material. Tyler, damn he had a crazy arch and one hell of a backstory making him very interesting, same with Giorgio, hell i'm even intrigued with the Doctor and how his rebirth will play out.

Its not that the show isn't star trek and its not that the Orville is, its just that one has much better character development over the other and Star Trek typically had good character development for the entire cast.

On Picard its interesting watching the 'fans' who shit on Discovery for being not star trek, fawn over picard which seems like Disco with Picard fronting it, its blatantly obvious its a mix of casting and nostalgia churning up the hate for the vocal ass hats that is.

  9. I mean i bought it and instantly hated the changes! mainly because i wanted to do the first forge and now the forges are on a rotating playlist with Izanami this week, which i've never done so that was fun. Honestly though so far it seems great and i'm going to have to abuse the loot chest tonight to power level, and maybe just maybe i might be able to solo the misison for outbreak prime finally (since it seems i can kill things quick but also die quick)

What are peoples interest levels like for Shadowkeep?

I've noticed that a lot of those who picked up the game again a few months ago seem to have already dropped it! Is anyone planning on going in for the expansion?

If enough people here get it, I’ll get it too, it was fun raiding Friday with everyone

  11. Am i playing the same game as you lot? or have i just been lucky so far?

I played it for a few hours last night and didn't notice any performance issues, its been absolutely brilliant so far. My only gripe is perhaps now seeing it in person i'm not so keen on the doll like designs of characters, or rather link - as pedantic as this is having solid brown dots for eyes makes him souless and its not like every character has been this way, when a crocodile man has whites of his eyes it makes it a bit jarring.

    But its a minor gripe

  12. I do wonder how the brexiteers will spin the Yellowhammer report as 'project fear' when its a report produced by their darling savior  good o'le Boris and it paints a very bleak picture thats in some ways worse than all the information previously dismissed as 'project fear'

Honestly its an utter shit show and i cannot believe how badly its going, it needs the government deposing and article 50 rescinding until actual plans are developed and not just "Have some faith in great britain" or "we can be great like before Europe"

So, lots of use are playing again (or never stopped playing) so thought it would be fun to get some Raids going. I was thinking go back to the start and do Leviathan and then work our way through all the Raids in order. Who's in and when would you be able to play?

The fact i've only just seen this depresses me as i realise just how long its been since i've had time to be on here and/or Destiny

DO NOT ever buy a house thats a fixerupper! 2 years and i'm a week away from no more DIY! I might be back on some time next week and then i plan on abusing destiny, i've missed the solstice armour and haven't got my outbreak prime (and many many other exotics), and still haven't finished a single raid, only the one that had an encounter with witch and you had to stand on certain platforms as its first boss, then had another you had to kill fast for its second

So i'd be up for anything

  14. I don't thin Portman will be a replacement, i cannot see it, she's hardly reliable for the franchise so they won't pin all hopes on her from a purely business standpoint

I can see it being a case of them both being Thor for a time

  15. Saw Brightburn at the weekend, late night showing at a cinema

I'd give it 6/10, the premise is interesting, but the execution and some plot points were just awful

    Spoiler

So the general premise is like a 'What if' Superman was sent to invade and was found as a child and raised as a human

one of the plot points when he 'awakens' to his powers is that the kid becomes distant and unemotional but i don't know if it was just the kid was a terribly wooden actor.

And i don't think the film was ambitious enough or brave enough - during the early phases before he got his powers, the made a point to show the kid was a loner and bullied by kids at school, once he had his powers they continued and you'd think given he was killing people who he had a vuage reason to dislike, that he'd kill the bullies? well they shied away from harming kids for the most part, the only exception was (wierdly given he ignored bullies in the same damn scene) when a girl he liked was (rightly) creeped out by him after he kept poping into her room on a night, let him fall during a trust fall exercise. When the teacher forces her to help him up he tightens his grip and their is the briefest of flashes of him crushing her hand before it jump cuts away. It seemed an odd choice in retrospect given bullies whom you'd think he'd kill he didn't

It just had a weak plot in places, with typical horror movie tropes/mistakes - Parents don't want him to know about his origins, but keep the space pod under the barn next to the house. When the mom finds him in a trance writhing at the locked cellar of the barn? she pretends it never happened. only mentioning it after he has broken the girls hand.

The dad then finally after 10 years of raising the kid starts to think hey that alien we found that looked like a newborn baby, maybe we should have been more careful etc and maybe we have a problem.

They find 'porn' under his bed in one scene and flick through it with a laugh, before finding it eventually switches to gore and human anatomy photos (from autopsies? although later in the movie it could have been from one of his victims) but despite it being mentioned to the aunt/school guidance Councillor its dismissed as a weird fetish..........a Gore porn fetish in a 10 year old? Christ that is not normal in anyone let alone A FREAKING ALIEN YOU FOUND IN THE WOODS

They have a weird country trip where specifically so the dad can give him the most uncomfortable film dialogue i've ever witnessed where he tells him its okay to touch himself and give in to his urges and the kid then reacts by 'can i do it now'

The kid breaks down the door to the chicken coop and rips apart a dozen chickens (off screen) and the dad thinks its him, since he found him in a trance by the coop earlier - the mom? Nope a wolf obviously broke clean through the pad lock and then flung the door across the coop and how could the dad think this, even if the kid had form for being wierd in a trance and suddenly violent.

The kid begins killing and tags the crime scenes with his intials, because you know calling card?

After the dad finally twigs the kid might have killed his uncle and tells the wife, they row and throw away that the comment that in the 10 years of having the alien kid, he's never been ill, never broke a bone, never even cut himself, something that perhaps should have come up earlier since they at this point make it a plot point, when the kid finds the pod and cuts himself on it.

Despite knowing the kid cannot be harmed the final act of the film begins and the Dad Old Yella style takes the kid hunting and tries to shoot him, despite only just before discussing and having it confirmed the only thing that harmed the kid was his alien pod.

The kid eventually kills the Dad then goes home to kill the mom and the stupidity continues.

The kid plays with the mom and she calls the cops before his (inconsistently used) powers cut off the call.

The Sheriff and a deputy are dispatched to the house and are promptly butchered.

The mom makes it to the barn and breaks off a piece of the pod to kill the kid. Calls him over, plays the sop story and goes for a hug and despite knowing with no effort this metal will cut the kid like butter, RAISES HER ARM OVER HEAD TO STAB HIM......Christ! and obviously he catches this and flies her about a mile up and drops her to her death.

A Plane is flying towards him as he does this and it jump cuts to their house only with a crashed plane on it and a newscaster voice over about how a plane crashed killing everyone in the area but the kid - no mention that 30 min before this the Mom called the cops and the town Sheriff and deputy go missing, it would be quite easy to see the discrepancy in times here but who the hell knows.

He's covered up his murder spree so he can continue to kill in secret? nope, news footage with a flying figure over disasters in the town, footage of him flying through an office destroying it, hovering over a field with his initials burn into it! completely invalidating the cover up.

I mean if you don't think about the plot it was enjoyable enough but you can pick it apart

Were there any solid rumours about the lite version? It could be that the rumour was that there was a new model coming, which now has been confirmed...

if you go on ERA there was a 139 page thread (thankfully the OP was updated a few times) that collated most rumours, after the WSJ article came out some third party case makers new products leaked that were cases for a smaller switch (obviously the switch lite) there were also rumours of new more powerful chipsets being made for nintendo further cementing the pro version rumours.

Now with the official announcement effectively confirming the WSJ article in part it makes sense that an updated Switch is coming. Given the holidays and not wanting to canibalise sales for the Lite and pokemon i think speculation of March would be a good time for a pro version to replace the original switch.
