  1. General Retro Discussion

No clip have found ten years worth of lost video game footage such as the video above. The video below goes into detail, but the gust of it is they found all these tapes are they’re going to upload them to YouTube and internet archive to preserve them.
  2. Pikmin 4

Yea, I really didn’t like the constant stopping and starting to tell you basic things. I don’t see the point in making a player go through several lines of text, then giving the player control to then almost immediately taking control away again to give you even more lines of text to read through. Especially when most of the information the characters give you is pretty obvious stuff. I think most players could probably work these things out for themselves just by playing the game. I feel that it doesn’t leave a good impression to anyone new to the series who was trying out the demo. All that said, I think this might be the best pikmin game they’ve ever made lol. The demo is pretty long if you do everything and I was having a blast all the way through, I love everything they’ve done (apart from what I mentioned above) and to me it feels like the perfect sequel that takes the best parts from all the previous games and adds some decent new features. I’ve always a fan of the series and I had intended to buy this at some point but not at launch because I played through pikmin 3 deluxe a month ago as it felt it’s too soon to play through another pikmin game but I’ve walked away from the demo preordering it.
  3. General Switch Discussion

It’s not been confirmed by the devs yet but I believe it’s teasing that a ghost from the 80s Real Ghostbusters cartoon called SamHain is headed to the game:
  4. Pikmin 4

There is now a demo for Pikmin 4 on the eshop
  5. I still remember back when Super Mario RPG was announced for the SNES, Nintendo magazine had an issue with a huge preview of it that I just kept reading and re-reading through because I couldn't wait to play it I had never played an RPG before and it seemed like it would be easier to get into the the established RPG's at the time, plus it looked great. I hadn't been that hyped for a game since Donkey Kong Country ...And then a few months later I read on Teletext/Digitiser that the game won't be coming to the UK! I was devastated but then I figured I would import a copy of the game from America, since I had one of those converters that let me play American and Japanese games on my Snes, something like this: ...But then I found out that Nintendo and Square had made it so the cartridge would not work on the current converters that were out at the time lol. By the time a new converter came out that could run it, I was already looking forward to the Nintendo 64 and it was getting harder to import snes games from America, they where only really importing PS1 and Sega Satrun games so it wasn't an option anymore. I did end up importing an American SNES off of ebay in 2004 along with a copy of the game and finally playing it after all that time and then buying the game again on the Wii virtual console. It's a great game, and I am looking forward to the remake. I really like how they've translated the look of the old game into these new 3D models.
  6. I’ve long wanted them to re-release Pikmin 1 and 2, so I’m very happy that’s exactly what they’re doing. I only played through Pikmin 3 Deluxe last month so I’ll probably pick these up later in the year. btw, Nintendo Japan added a bunch of Pikmin items to their store today. I especially like this pikmin shaped ice cube maker lol https://topics.nintendo.co.jp/article/b587ff4f-57ad-41c1-bf1a-2f350ea68649
  7. The Super Mario Bros. Movie (April 7th UK)

Nintendo have uploaded a short video of Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri thanking people for watching the movie:
  8. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Yeah I did, but I don't know why. I was enjoying the game a lot, exploring the map, activating all the towers and finding shrines as well as completing some the main story objective stuff etc And then... I just stopped sometime last week or so and have not felt like going back at all. According to my switch profile, I've played a good 75 hours of it so far, so maybe I just burnt myself out on it or something. I am sure I'll go back to it at some point though.
  9. General Switch Discussion

Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed is headed to the Switch: There's no release date yet, just a vague "end of the year" but I'm very happy to hear this news. The Youutbe description mentions how it runs on switch:
  10. TMNT: Shredder's Revenge (Switch, PS4, Xbox, PC)

    DLC announced:
  11. I only recently found out they added voices to the boss and some other characters in Mario Advance/SMB2 which is surreal. The games are up now on NSO btw.
  12. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Same issue for me, i upgraded my Armour by one star and I have 11 harts but some enemies are still instantly killing me or knocking me down to one or two harts from one attack. The main thing that is on my side is that i learned attaching the stuff that enemies drop to weapons make them much stronger and also increase the durability, so I can kill them pretty quickly as long as I avoid any hits from them. On the flip side of that though, I've found every dungeon boss I've done so far, relativity easy and defeated them on my first attempt.
  13. Mortal Kombat 1 (19th September 2023)

I know what you mean. Back in the 90's I took Mortal Kombat's violence the same way as seeing the Itchy and Scratch cartoon in the Simpsons. It was so cartoony it felt so ridiculous and funny. The series has gotten so realistic, that anytime I see clips of it, it feels a little off-putting.
  14. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

I was avoiding a lot of battles for most of my playtime so far because I seem to be dying very easily. I only realised today that if you fuse the stuff that Bokoblin’s and other enemies drop onto your weapons, it makes them much stronger. I’m having a much better time battling enemies with those upgraded weapons now. For example, all before I was fusing rocks and stuff to my swords, which makes them stronger but only by a little bit. Adding a Lizalfos horn will add 8+ damage for comparison.
  15. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

A nice little recap video by Nintendo of the events of BotW
  16. The Super Mario Bros. Movie (April 7th UK)

As expected, the movie has now made a Billion dollars: https://variety.com/2023/film/box-office/super-mario-bros-movie-hits-one-billion-global-1235598692/amp/
  17. Star Trek Masturbatathon

Even Red Letter Media seemed to love the third season of Picard. This is very impressive. It reminds me of a fan project a few years ago where a group of people recreated the Enterprise D for VR. They did amazing work but sadly CBS shut them down with a cease and desist order and they had to close the project down: They moved to recreating the ship ship from a the Orville which they got to release on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1096200/The_Orville__Interactive_Fan_Experience/
  18. Star Trek Masturbatathon

The final episode of Picard was tremendous and It felt like a natural continuation and conclusion to the original TNG crew and movies. I just loved every single minute of it and teared up so many times and laughed a few times too. The ending made me so happy as well, I have not enjoyed anything related to Star trek like that in a very long time.
  19. Tetris 99 -- Available Today

Another Maximus cup/ Grand Prix announced for Tetris 99:
  20. Star Trek Masturbatathon

IGN made a pretty good video as to why they think Season 3 of Picard is so much better then season 1 and 2. I agree with a lot of what they say here and was making similar points to my friends while the first two seasons where airing:
  21. Star Trek Masturbatathon

I have no idea how this show will end but I am so much more invested in it then the first two seasons, which I thought where terrible. It's not just the nostalgia of this season that has be interested though, i am actually enjoying the story and want to find out what happens next.
