  1. Mario blows up city!

to the American goverment! theyve succesfully created a nation of paranoid drones! its amazing that such a large percentage of the general public panic at anything that doesnt fit into their word of advertising, tv and ready meals 2 stories like this in a week, i thought we were supposed to believe that America was over all of this 9/11 stuff and was looking for revenge What next? Banning Christmas decorations?
  2. BBC's UK Vote: Nintendo, Microsoft or Sony?

revo is on top because the only people dumb enough to vote on a poll from a year ago and then read into your own votes as being the views of the general public are you guys...
  3. The third Revolution secret!

the 3rd secret is... REVOLUTION WILL BE '4D'!
  4. I think the worst thing about the elections is this stupid "im going to vote for <instert name here> because they'll win anyway" mentality. I know a lot of people who wanted to vote Lib Dem / Green etc who voted Labour/Conservative instead because "nobody else stands a chance" or "i think <insert name here> will win, so i'll vote for him"! No way should the population vote on every law, it would be removing power from parlement and handing it to the press!
  5. Laptops ...

nice laptop, i cant really recommend Acer though. The screen has snapped off my acer laptop, just through regular use for the 6 months since i bought it! And they wont collect it from uni halls so ive got to wait 2 weeks to send it off (i go home then). They may be cheap, high spec laptops, but they've not figured out how to reinforce a case properly yet
  6. BBC's UK Vote: Nintendo, Microsoft or Sony?

strange, that screenshot to me doesnt look as nice as the UE3 screenshots anyone else wonder if Sony realise that their driving the console market towards the PC (which for them could be very dangerous)?
  7. PS3 to Stream/download PS1/2 games?

interesting read, maybe they should just sack their legal department! after reading that i cant see any use for them
  8. MS Office 2007 UI Pictures! (56k uh-ohs)

i doubt it will cripple the small business, that UI looks very simple and isnt that far from the current one, just prettier. any fool could figure out how to use this with 1/2 hour of messing about surely? plus, people dont have to swap to 2k7 do they, im sure that they can (and will) continue to use 2k3 for years yet
  9. Rate Your Dinner!

argh! making me hungry! doing an all nighter on uni work and run out of food, coffee and pro plus i had Chicken Burger + Chips from Nosh Da' (uni fast food place), wasnt too bad for a change but overpriced (£6.50 for that + popcorn + drink! thank god im catered!) as usual so 5/10

On a more serious note: IS PAUL MCCARTNEY DEAD? In 1969 Russell Gibb, a radio Disc Jockey in Detroit, announced that Paul McCartney was dead. His proof: evidence strewn throughout the Beatles' songs, movies, and album artwork. Newspaper and television reporters picked up the story and the news quickly spread across America. The story states that Paul McCartney was involved in a car accident. Apparently "he hadn't noticed that the lights had changed." The accident occurred at 5 a.m. on a Wednesday morning. Cause of death was massive head trauma. So severe were his wounds that dental records were useless for identifying the body. No accident report was made public due to pending investigation of the occupant. Beatles' insiders learned it was Paul, but kept silent. Understanding the ramifications of such news, the remaining Beatles hatched a cover-up. A Paul McCartney look alike contest was held. William Campbell won first place, but the results were never announced. Campbell's prize was to be made a clone of Paul for photos, videos, movies, etc. Plastic surgery was used to smooth out the minor differences. They failed to fix a scar on Campbell's upper lip - this is how you can tell authentic McCartney photos from the Campbell ones. THE CLUES, DAMMIT, THE CLUES... The album covers... The bloody meat and assorted baby doll parts represent the horrible nature of the car accident. Notice the set of teeth of Paul's right arm. They signify that Paul's teeth were knocked out in the car crash. This rendered dental records unavailable as a means for identifying the body. George is holding the head of a baby doll next to Paul's head, to signify that Paul was decapitated in the accident. Paul is sitting inside the trunk. The trunk represents a coffin. This is one of the first photographs showing a scar on Paul's upper lip. A sign that this is the imposter William Campbell sitting in for photograph sessions. The people are looking at what appears to be a freshly dug grave. The yellow flowers (directly below the flowers that spell Beatles) are in the shape of a bass guitar. Paul was the bass player for The Beatles. There are three sticks on the yellow flowers that represent the strings of the bass. There are only THREE sticks to represent the THREE remaining Beatles. Also, notice that the yellow flowers spell out 'PAUL?'; questioning Paul's existance. The doll on the right of the cover (in the white, black, and red stripes) has a small white car, with a blood red interior, on her lap. This is a model of the car that Paul died in. Direcly below the doll's left foot is a white vase with yellow flowers in it. If you look closely it resembles a car plummeting over a cliff with flames coming out of the back end. Below the 'T' in Beatles is a statue of the Hindu God Shiva 'The Destroyer.' Its hand points directly to Paul. Notice The Beatles standing behind the drum in the center of the photo. They are standing sideways except for Paul who is facing directly forward. John, Ringo, and George look *three dimensional* while Paul looks like one of the cardboard cutouts. Paul is the only one holding a black instrument. Black is associated with death. This may seem insignificant now, but it turns up a few more times. This is the first occasion where we see an open palm above Paul McCartney's head. There are many different theories as to what this signifies. It is generally taken to mean either that the person under the open palm will soon die or has recently passed away. As you will see, this turns up quite a few times. Take a small mirror, or the bottom of a CD will work, and place it perpendicular to the center of the drum, so that you split 'LONELY HEARTS' in half. Now read the combined writing on the drum and the mirror. It says 1 ONE 1 X HE | DIE. '1 ONE 1' equals three, another reference to three Beatles. The 'X' crosses out Paul because he is no longer alive. And the arrow between 'He' and 'Die' points directly to Paul. On the back cover... Paul is facing backwards, to signify that the man in the photograph is an imposter. Paul, George, and John were all about the same height, but in this photo Paul appears higher than the other two. This represents that he is *rising up,* ascending if you will. The words "Without You" are coming out the side of Paul's head, from the song title "Within You, Without you." George's thumb is pointing to the lyrics "Wednesday morning at 5 o'clock," the time of Paul's death. In the procession across the street, John represents the Preacher (or God), Ringo represents a Pall Bearer (or undertaker), Paul is the Deceased, and George is the Grave Digger. Paul's eyes are closed and he is in his barefeet, both representative of a corpse. Paul is out of step with the other Beatles - his right foot is forward, the others are leading with their left foot. Paul is smoking with his right hand. Paul played the bass as a lefty. This shows that an imposter was brought in for the photograph. An ambulance, or a morgue wagon, is parked on the right side of the street. The car in the background appears to be headed directly at Paul. The VW bug that is parked on the left side of the street has a liscense plate that says '28IF'. Paul would have been 28 when this album was released, IF he would have lived. Well, there you have most of it folks... is Paul McCartney dead?
  11. Conspiracy Theories - post your favourite!

    i heard one that states
  12. Vista Thread

i dont get why theres no Media Player and yet IE7 is included, all lack of WMP will do is confuse the average user! tbh MSoft will probably get round the problem by including it in an update or something anyway Wont be buying Vista anyway, its going to use 10GB of HDD space!!!
  13. Reading Festival 2006

i was at the nme tour last night, monkeys need a slap. theyve gotten to the point where im supprised that their over inflated egos managed to fit into the venue. the other 3 bands were VERY good though, WAS being possibly the best band ive ever seen live! anyhow, back onto topic. i'll be going to leeds i think, will probably be a bit of and indie/emo fest but hopefully the friday will have a few great rock acts (current speculation coming up with everything from alice cooper to guns 'n roses, and red hot chilli peppers to smashing pumpkins). I'll look forward to seeing muse there and i would like to see most of the indie/emo acts that will probably play aswell but im hoping that Arctic Monkeys dont play tbh, they apparantly refused 4th on the main stage claiming they wanted to headline it (placing them above the rumoured franz ferdinand and kaiser chiefs)
  14. Games you wanna see

a jedi knight game, it just has to be done! and it MUST be bundled with a crappy, cheap plastic lightsabre shell lol. it could even have a darth maul lightsabre style shell for the special edition :p
  15. What is this..?

This topic is irrelevant anyway, THIS ISNT THE FINAL DESIGN OF THE CONSOLE. If there is a big new feature to come then its unlikely there will be any hint of it on these images, Nintendo will have made these designs for the Revolution that had been announced as of E3 2005 The 3rd feature wont be anything with lasers, 1. Because its far too expensive and 2. Because of the potential health risks involved
  16. he's right. retro games arent fun, but that includes these crappy arcade "classics" that microsoft are getting. the only generation of games that ive found to age well was the SNES/Mega Drive era, i admit still enjoying the odd game on those
  17. HEY HEY IE Beta 2

might give opera a try, using FF at the moment. i never realised how used to FF i'd gotten until i had to use IE a few weeks back, i'd completely forgotten how to do all but the most basic tasks. so far i think: FF > IE > Netscape (Netscape is the most god awful browser ive ever used)
  18. Universities Universities...

try going on this website: http://www.newstudent.org every university has its own forum on there and a lot of people use it so you can get a good idea of the sort of people who will be starting at that uni this year.
  19. Famitsu next gen survey

Whats the prize? The title of "Overpriced, Badly Stocked, Spare Part"?
  20. ´Cisco´ interested in buying Nintendo?

Oh they do... Cisco are a BIG company, worth nearly $100 Billion! Dont believe me? Then check it yourself... Cant seem to find a value on Nintendo, which seems a bit odd but around the $30-40 Billion mark would probably about right so it wouldnt be that unlikely a buyout at all
  21. "A Quiet Revolution?"

my guess will be the PSP vs DS all over again, Revo launches, PS3 Launches, Nintendo ship 4 times as many units as Sony, Revo sells half of its shipped units, PS3 sells out, average consumer assumes PS3 has sold better because its not available anywhere, PS3 comes back in stock, Revo sales slow right down because the "more popular" console that "has" sold way more units is now back in stock, Revo gets moved to back of shop. During all this the Xbox 360 is selling very few units because its been out a year already and is the "mid-range" model (be honest, how often does a mid-range model of anything sell the best? most people will decide an extra £50 or so is worth it to get a PS3) and the Xbox moves back beside the Revo. Ultimate result: Sony own 70% of the shelve space in every games shop
  22. 3DMark06

cba with 06, only just got 05 and it runs really badly (1005 ). im away to put some more ram in but my laptop needs repairing first, its an acer so i should get it back from repair in time for 3DMark07 (if im lucky)
  23. i'll give you the name of my councellor
  24. Revolution jokes, parodies and gifs.

that pic is very trance indusing... i now have a new wallpaper
  25. "Hollywood" Graphics Chip Info!

the thing i always find wierd is that everyone compares specs assuming that they can be directly compared with n00bish PC knowledge. i dont know a great deal myself but what i do know is that if all we've heard is true then comparing the revos spec on paper would be like comparing the on paper specs of a PowerMac and a Dell XPS (bad example maybe?) Artificial Stupidity is what games companies are tying to pass off as intelligence these days, im still waiting for a game with intelligent enemies/allies! No chance of that, it would mean replacing the processor + graphics card and adding extra ram and a hard drive (i.e. you'd basically have created a new console) P.S. I'll stop spamming this thread now
