  1. The Ultimate Wii FPS Aiming!!1

I'd prefer the crosshair being locked to the centre of the screen personally. Devs should be keeping the tried and tested PC control method, its proven to be very accurate... These 'Bounding Box' control methods are complicated and fiddly!
  2. iTunes DRM hacked

that still works? not done it for years, figured Apple would have put an end to it by now...
  3. MS Windows Vista Box Shot

Home Premium is the best one for most people to use, Ultimate is more loaded that XP Pro (so if you had Pro and didnt use its extra features you definately dont need Ultimate) I wouldnt recommend buying XP for the upgrade coupon though, you can only install Vista once with those (so if all goes wrong you have to fork out £200+ for a new copy)
  4. Long Answer Its all down to Sony and Philips being money grabbing f****** In 1995 the 'DVD Forum' was created, it was a partnership between Hitachi, Matsushita, Mitsubishi, Pioneer, Philips, Sony, Thomson, Time Warner, Toshiba and JVC. The Forum was created to oversee the sharing of ideas and innovations relating to the DVD format. This led to the creation of the DVD-R format in 1997 by Pioneer. All was well and the DVD Forum set about making DVD the standard. 5 years down the line Sony and Philips reveal that they've been going behind the backs of the other Forum members to create a competing format, DVD+R. This understandably annoyed the other members because they shared the technology that led to the creation of both formats. The resulting fall out led to a reduction of influence in the Forum for both Sony and Philips and the DVD Forum backing HD-DVD for the next generation instead of Blu Ray. Short Answer In short, the 2 formats are basically the same. DVD-R is more compatable, has been around longer and has the backing of the DVD Forum. DVD+R was a money spinning venture done by Sony and Philips. It isnt compatable with older players and doesnt have the backing of the DVD Forum.
  5. NoScript I wouldnt browse the net without it, most of the security problems caused by the internet are down to Javascript!
  6. Wii Tv...again

Tie first one definately. The quality of any HD-TV thats under £300 is likely to be a bit dubious.
  7. Casino Royale 16/17th Nov

It was that.. The series died after Goldeneye, shame really because that is easily in my top 5 Bond films. Not sure if it was Brosnan's or the Script Writer's fault... This one looks like it will be good though. Anyone else think Daniel Craig is the scariest looking Bond ever?
  8. Just came across this video on Google. Posting it here because it will get lost in the Wii forum at the moment http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=2964751562925463883&q=ps3+vs+wii
  9. This is the bit thats got me confused. The Symbiote bonds with Peter in the comics, looks like it bonds to one of his costumes in the film I was looking forward to seeing Spiderman 'mutate' into the black costume every time he used it too 1. Looks like they are. 2. Yup, he is.
  10. Wii Game Requests

The only reason the terrorists in Iraq cant be defeated is because they dont have uniforms, jets, tanks, bases and leaders. Those things allow an army to be defeated. Terrorist armies are quite clever really...
  11. Wii Game Requests

Steel Battalion Wii, it makes sense! Capcom wouldnt need to bundle the game with a £100 controller for a Wii version, 2 Wiimotes could do the job easily! tbh i dont even want a sequel, a port would do just fine
  12. iTunes DRM hacked

Its been around for years, and yes it is legal. Jon Lech Johansen started up his own company and is currently in the process of selling his software to iPod competitors. Apple is going nuts, but theres not a great deal they can do to stop him, theyve been trying since he first made the software in 2003! Not sure whats on that link you posted though, JLJ's software is called QTFairUse not FairGame and his company is DoubleTwist not Seidai Software.
  13. Your Wii, When, where and how?

Im still trying to decide if a want a Wii. I can either: Get a Wii Get a 360 Upgrade my laptops Graphics Card and RAM Im leaning towards laptop upgrades at the moment because of UT2007 and Medieval 2: Total War (looking forward to playing those more than any game other than SSBB)
  14. Ah, that figures. Bet they moved the devs on to World Of Warcraft, got to be a lot more profitable for them to expand that game. *prays for next-gen version*
  15. books

Ive just finished reading the Wheel Of Time series by Robert Jordan (12 books, took me about a year). Away to start Stephen King's Dark Tower series now, just waiting on the library getting a hold of Gunslinger
  16. Whatever happened to Starcraft: Ghost?
  17. Cool trailer! Didnt know the 2nd Green Goblin was in this1 I doubt Venom isnt going to appear much in this one. All you'll see is Eddie Brock getting the suit and maybe a fight between him + Spidey at the end of the film. Spidey vs Venom is for Spiderman 4 Nope. Venom is Eddie Brock, a news reporter who gets humiliated by Spiderman and vows revenge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Brock Eddie Brock, AKA Venom:
  18. Pre ordered Wii from HMV store? be AFRAID,

Nintendo havent confirmed stock allocations yet, HMV arent lying. The Preorders at Game, Gamestation etc are based on the minimum number of units those retailers will be getting from Nintendo. Nintendo will tell all the retailers how many units they will have between launch and Christmas some time within the next week, the retailers then have to figure out how many are going to each store. Once that is done and numbers have been confirmed HMV will be able to tell you if you have a succesfull preorder or not. If not, dont despair. Im 99% sure Tesco will get some stock, a company with their kind of buying power isnt going to be left out. Go down to your local store at about 11:30pm on the 7th and wait for them to put Wii on sale (might want to check afew days before that they actually will have them in).
  19. OMFG! Norwegian Wii prices.

You could always get some cheap flights across to the UK, stock up on Wii stuff then fly back a couple of hours later. Assuming you wanted the Wii + a spare controler ('mote + 'chuck) + 3 games then you'd save about £100 minus the price of the flights. Had a quick look on some Norwegian airline website and flights to London from Oslo are about €100 so you'd be saving £35/425 Kroner per person and you get a little visit to london (about 6 hours lol). Or fly to somewhere in Europe and you probably save even more
  20. GMail accounts for free.

i could do with a new email address tbh, too much spam going to my AOL account. can someone PM me an invite?
  21. Games that break your controllers!

Football games while im drunk. I lobbed an Xbox controller out a window once at a mates house after loosing a game of Pro Evo oh, wait this is the retro forum... Street Fighter 2 - i ripped the wire out of the controler after my little brother beat for the 20th time in a row via Dhalsim's flying kick move
  22. MS Windows Vista Box Shot

    looky here: http://news.com.com/FAQ+Vistas+strong,+new+antipiracy+protections/2100-1025_3-5844071.html
  23. Vista Thread

The average consumer doesnt know XP x64 exists, its just a nice little piece of software for those of us who want to use all of our computers hardware without having to upgrade to Nazi OS* Have a nice time with Vista and its DRM** and stringent EULA*** Take a look here: http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/winvista_editions_final.asp *AKA Vista **Digital Rights Management ***End User Lisence Agreement
  24. Sky HD

Loads of places have been selling them cheap, nearly bought one myself last week. Sky are giving HD subscribers Sky+ for free now too so the extra £10 a month isnt quite so bad
