  1. I didn't say that you said that Retro can't do FPS', but yeah, I agree with you on the diversity issue. I think Retro should selectively expand their personnel with ex members of Rare, Free Radical, Bunjie and various other studios, it would make them in some ways a "superstudio" and allow them to experiment with other types of games. The only thing Retro have yet to prove is that they can come up with an original concept for a game, and follow it through to make a great game. However to beak them into the market, they should go for a genre that is popular, and usually unavailable on Nintendo consoles, such as FPS's or Beat em ups, and this would cement them as one of the all time great Nintendo second parties, even though they're already the best in my eyes.

  2. I wouldn't classify any of the Prime games (bar hunters) as a FPS. When designing them Retro have to work like adventure game designers. I think them doing a conventional FPS would be a mistake though, someone else can do that as Retro are more valuable elsewhere.

Here we go...Look im not going into whether its a FPS or a FPA, but the fact of the matter is that it's in First Person Perspective, and you shoot stuff. Reason enough for me to call it an FPS. What I was getting at was the fact that they handled the mechanics of it so well, with the jumping, the speed and the locations, it wouldn't be hard for them to add dual analog control and a few semi auto rifles now would it? That's one of the reasons I don't really love Prime Hunters as much as I thought I would, because the beam weapons do not suit a traditional FPS, and no, Retro probably isn't more valuable elsewhere, they're one of the only studios I see as being able to advance the FPS genre, recently, there's only been Halo and Far Cry that have blown me away, and I think that Retro have the capacity to do much better than those two games.

  3. Something on one of those tape-based players. I remember taking all the keys out of the keyboard and rearranged them alphabetically.

My dad and I spent a long time putting them back in right. He never loved me again.

Haha, thats the funniest thing I've heard all day, perhaps because it's only 7:50, or perhaps it's because I did exactly the same thing with our first computer back in 95, man it majorly pissed everyone off, lol I felt like such a jackass afterwards :heh:

  4. I thought Nightfire was great, my sister loved it aswell, I think I played Multiplayer on that more than on Timesplitters (though I liked TS better). Nightfire had those awesome guided missiles, and those Remote Helicopters and Tanks that were hella fun. It wasn't that bad of a game either, it got 6/10 in Edge who're famous for their stingy scoring, and about 8.5 in IGN. So quit yer bitching! :heh:

  5. We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was before. Better... stronger... faster...

There's plenty of stuff to fixate Y.Link with, you just gotta look at the options.

Lol where is that from? Is it the six million dollar man?...last I recall I heard Ted's band from Scrubs singing that...sure is funny tho lol.

I see your point about not replacing young link, but what I think would be awesome is fully customisable characters, where you can choose their Ratio of strength to agility and costumes, maybe even being able to create your own moves, that would really be ideal...

  6. Given that FPS' seem to be their forte, I think they should go for a traditional style FPS, because that was the one thing that frustrated me about GC, that there were no great single player FPS' and, so I think they should go for one in the vein of Quake or Unreal Tournament, with Online Multiplayer, that would be a killer app for sure and a perfect use of the new controller. Either that or an epic third person action game such as Prince Of Persia, God of war or Shinobi (infact any game with ninjas should be awesome) I dono, those are the two types of games I see them being really good at.

  7. From his ass, evidently. We have NO idea how big the game is going to be or how both games will be scaled.

:heh: That wuz funny...but I think that there is truth to it, If GTA 4 is the size of past GTA games they won't fit onto just one DVD, and they would need to have a system similar to the PS Final Fantasy games where you switch CD's. But it sure as hell doesn't matter to me, I hated every GTA I ever played, so I won't be getting it, regardless of whether they manage to cram it onto a DVD.

I don't need 10 reasons not to buy a PS3. I have one good reason.

    I don't want one.

Precisely, seems like everywhere you look people are desperately trying to sell you on their opinion, I don't know why so many people have turned on Sony this generation, perhaps they see Sony's monopoly on videogames as unhealthy for the market, or perhaps they realise just how unfounded the hype for the PS2 and now the PS3 really is, but the fact of the matter is that most people aren't stupid, and they don't need to be fed mostly bullshit reasons such as on that site, they can see clearly what jackasses Sony are making of themselves plus, and most importantly, when they get one look at the price point and see that they're paying for functions that they don't even need, they will realise that they don't want to buy into the hype this time, especially when there's the 360 sitting across the store which plays mostly the same games with the (by now) ridiculously well selling Halo series for $250 less, or that new quirky Nintendo console thats going for a quarter of the price.

  8. - Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The glitch ruined it. Is there someone who didn't get it?

Yah, I didn't get any glitches in any of the POP games. In sands of time once though, I was playing and the screen froze and went all distorted and fuzzy with loads of purple. But thats all, it only happened once. The only other game I've ever encountered a glitch in was Ikaruga...which deleted my memory card, the bastard.

  9. Meh, you're a lightweight, the Golden Sun games were both easy...*goes and completes it...again*

They were bastards! Some of the quests were so stupid, and obscure. It was easy in terms of how much skill it required, but some of the things you were required to do and find were just insane.

Anyone beat Omega Weapon in ff8? Yep, I'm a heavyweight.

Pfft, Omega and Ultima weapons were the piss. I didn't like 8 as much as 7, the weapons weren't particularly memorable...

  10. Seriously, growing your hair is not a good idea. I have hair up to my chest, I haven't had it cut for 2 years, or trimmed, It falls in my face, and you can't take a shower in the mornings because long hair is a bitch to dry. I sooo badly want to get it cut but here's the kicker, I can't. I've become too attatched to it, and it's become wildly unmanageable. You also start to develop a phobia towards barbers, because of the idea that they might mess it up, plus I have nasty wavy hair, so I have to spend yonks straightening it. Still, there's always the plus side: I don't look out of place at Megadeth gigs.

Only go for long hair if you want to achieve the following:

    The incomparable Dave Mustaine...

Not if you want to look like this:

    The everyday emo fag

Oh also. Today is 6/6/06, the International day of Slayer, (otherwise known as punch emo fags in the face day).
