  1. Awesome, you enjoying it??

    Here are my tips:

You have to do them all! Which quests haven't you done? Tell me the descriptions Gaspar gives you and I'll tell you how to do them, they are seriously important, not only for levelling up, but also because you get specific ulitmate weapons for your characters, such as the fully powered Masamune (from the Northern Ruins), The Prism Dress...or less effective Prism Helms from the Rainbow shell etc...

For your party I reccomend Crono, Marle and Lucca, but it really doesn't matter, you can have whoever you want. Checking my New Game + File, Crono, Marle and Lucca Have equipped:

    Crono;

    Shiva Edge

    Vigil Hat

    Nova Armour

    Gold Stud

They all have their good qualities, but especially the Gold Stud, which reduces the MP usage by 75% which is useful, because you're going to be using Crono's techs...a lot.

    Lucca has:

    Wondershot

    Vigil Hat

    Zodiac Cape

    Sun Shades

A lot of these are brilliant, and you can only get em by doing the quests Gaspar sends you on.

    Marle:

    Valkyrie

    Vigil Hat

    Prism Dress

    Gold Erng

The gold erng is important here, because it ups her HP by 50% and this is important, because you're going to be using her Cure and Life 2 techs a lot.

There are 3 stages to lavos,

1st stage he is just the outer shell which looks like this:

    Lavos_shell.jpg

2nd Stage, he looks more like a cross between cell (from dragonball z) and the mammon machine:

    lavos_owned.jpg

3rd Stage is the true Lavos:

    Lavos_Core.jpg

The first two require little tactics, I always just use a full out offensive, what tactics you will need to use are obvious from the game.

The third one however can be a tricky little bastard. The part you need to kill is not the central part (the part which does most of the damage) but the part on the right which has 30 000 hp (I know this because I had the sight scope equipped at the time) the centre one has 10 000 hp, and the left one has only 1 500 hp. Once you kill the one on the right, all three will die.

Now heres the tricky part. You need to kill the Centre part first, and it counterattacks with some seriously powerful magic/physical moves. Once he's down, the Rightmost bit will turn its defence off now watch out for this, because this is the focal point of the entire battle, once it does this, go all out, and attack with Luccas Mega Bomb, and Crono and Marle's double tech Ice Sword 2. It will take a long time, and you can't afford to be laid back for it....you have to go all out.

Also, what level are your characters?

    Chrono Trigger Forever!

  2. Aight, the Unholy Alliance tour 2006 has just been announced...It'll take place during November this year!!

I just got my standing tickets for it at MEN Arena on 3rd November. In case you don't know what I'm talking aboot, it's

    Slayer headlining

    Children of Bodom

    In Flames

    Lamb of God

    and Thine Eyes Bleed

    in support

This promisies to be the best gig of all time, 4 of my all time favourite bands playing on the same bill, on the same night...promises to be brutal

Also, Slayer's new album is out soon, should be interesting to hear to see if they can match the quality of their classics (Reign in Blood, South of Heaven and Seasons in the abyss) seeing as the last classic album they produced was 91's "Seasons..."

So who here is planning on going?

    Keep the metal alive!!

  3. Speaking of Ikaruga... Am I the only one who regretted buying Ikaruga? It looks cool and all but it's TOO FREAKIN' HARD! For crying out loud, if I buy a game, I'd expect to at least have some fun with it, not want to smash the controller after 2 minutes playing it!

Am I really such a terrible player or is it "normal" to suck at Ikaruga?

No you aren't a terrible player. You are an average player, Ikaruga was a game that appealed to me because it reminded me of the good old days of shooters on the Snes and Megadrive. It took a lot of mastering, and I mean a lot, but it was never unfair, ever and thats what set it apart from any other hardcore shooter I've ever played, when you died, you felt you deserved it and didn't feel the need to hurl the controller at the wall. The day I finished level 5, I felt like a champion, and there's no feeling to compare. Sad? Perhaps, but I live with it. Gets my vote for best shooter of all time alongside R-type 2 and Fantasy Zone.

sonic rush(its really typical hedgehog bollox)

wave race blue storm(ride waves yeah yeah with annoying controller and hard to remember tricks)

    pikmin(uugh dont get me started)

I thought Sonic Rush was the best sonic I've ever played. Wave Race Blue Storm was one of the only racers I've ever been able to tolerate....wierd...

  4. My chemistry teacher last year had a huge wart/mole (canay tell the difference) on his left cheek...anyway, when the time came to do "moles," he announced "now were going to move onto moles" the entire classroom just went completely silent, although you could more than hear the silent laughter...kids can be mean...

On topic: ouch, that sounds painful, but I suppose you'll be happy when its gone...no pain, no gain.

  5. Also who wants stale crap like FF X erm no thanks unless the new FF the series died on the PS a while back. ToS was way better than any FF on the PS.

Now thats just a load of crap. No matter how much you tout it as your "opinion," this is one case where opinions can clearly be wrong. ToS is not better than any main series FF, other than perhaps X or V. ToS was indeed a great game, but it wasn't a classic, some parts were just downright boring, the story was poor (to say the least) when compared to any Playstation final fantasy, the music wasn't interesting enough (even 8 years down the line, every time I pick up my guitar I find myself playing the FF7 boss theme yet I can't even remember a single piece of music from ToS), everything about the PS FF's was classic and ToS is just not in the same league. It did not inspire the same strong feelings of involvement or liking or absolute infatuation with the game (unless you're a simpleton)...I suggest you go and play 7, 8 and 9 again and because I can't really believe that anyone who's actually played them properly can still prefer ToS...

Turn-based fighting is never a fun thing. It is a test of endurance. So far everyone has endured turn-based fighting and therefore it remains. When are people finally going to realise it's just about the worst thing you can do to yourself that doesn't involve bleach and the consumption of said bleach?

I disagree strongly, turn based battles can be incredibly tedious if done wrong, but there are games which they are perfectly suited for, such as Chrono Trigger (specifically) and the Final Fantasy series, it brings a sense of strategy into the game...I agree random battles are very annoying, but the same can't be said of TBB's, without which, games like Advance Wars and Fire emblem would not work. I liked ToS' battle system, but for one based on action, it was ridiculously simple, everytime I went into a battle I found my self hammering A...ocassionally the B button...maybe the C stick to add a little variety...there were no huge summons to make it worthwhile...All in all, it could have been better.

Anyway, In my opinion the cube was a resounding success, it had the best games out of all 3 consoles, and even from a purely fiscal perspective, it managed to earn Nintendo a fair bit of dough.

  6. I have an outline of the gates of Valhalla on my back that me and my mate both went and got done on my 17th, I'm too chicken to go and get it finished...don't even ask if it hurt (like a motherfucker)

Anyway, There was a convention where the organisers were giving away $1000 to anyone who went and got a scrubs tattoo...and I was seriously considering getting one done, but I didn't want to fork out £400 to get to LA to collect my prize.

maybe j.e.n.o.v.a along one of my fingers

and a tiny tiny sun on my finger tip, but that isnt nerdy at all..

I would so love that....or I could get a SOLDIER or Avalanche tattoo :heh: would be cool...

  7. I used Maxi when I first got the game as I enjoyed the speed of the character.

Hells yeah! The first time I saw someone play soul calibur in the arcades, one of the people playing was using Maxi, and I remember thinking "Woah, look at that guy move!!!" All of his moves just looked so flashy and amazing, and that's primarily the reason I went straight out and bought my Dreamcast. He is without a doubt the coolest character in the game. As to whose the best, that's debatable, I don't really think there's a "best" character, most of them seem to be pretty well balanced...

  8. Just completed PoP: Warrior Within...the last boss is a BITCH! I think the combat this time around was a lot more fun and much more tolerable than in Sands of Time - there's no blocked hallways filled with legions of undead that take at least half an hour to kill, all exactly in the same way, but to counteract this, the platforming sections were less innovative, or complex in comparison. Overall though, it's one of my favourite games.

  9. Naaah, In my opinion SC2 was better, SC1 was mindblowing at the time because it was so new and fresh...

So anyway, yeah SC1 and 2 are widely regarded by a lot of gamers (including me) as the best fighters ever...

    My favourites are

    Maxi with Fatibal

    SC3MaxiProfile.jpg

Nightmare with Soul Calibur or Soul Edge (Growth):

    1124838577.jpg

I absolutely pwn with those two

Other characters I love to use are Ivy and Cervantes.

I think the reason why SC1 was such a success was because it was so fluid, and fast in comparison to other fighters at the time (and still) and the fact that a newbie coul pick up the game and pose a serious threat to a veteran, that and the quest mode was the best single player in any fighter ever.

  10. I really hope Excite Truck is online, that game looks absolutely amazing. Other than that, I'm hoping for a Tales MMORPG and just rpg's in general, some good Online FPS' some good online Beat Em Ups everything else looks awesome so those are the only things I really want developers to go for.

  11. Ha, it's funny how I'm bitching aboot the weather now, expecially when in winter I couldn't wait for summer to come. Still, the weather's gone out of control, it was snowing here in mid April

Also, does anyone know when Brazil's first match is? I don't have one of those timetable thingies...

  12. Manchester eh? what part?

As for the weather, I'm freaking loving it. Just thing how shit winter is and then love the summer!

Well...Heaton Norris in Stockport, I'm not sure whether that's classified as being in Manchester...?

Also, yeah, the weather can be nice, I love the spring months, It's not too hot it's not too cold, but it's always sunny...but today's just been unbearable...I suppose it'd be great if I was walking around in a banana hammock...

Edit: Haha, yeah, the match was great! Becksy scoring in 3 minutes and I was like, this ones in the bag, but Sven decided to be a jackass and take Owen out, wtf was that about? Crouch was a bit of a joke aswell tbh...

  13. Holy crap, for 30 degrees it's way too hot out here in Manchester, of course that could be because of Britain's distinct lack of an ozone layer, but you never know.

How has it been where you are?

Was so tired this noon that I went to sleep only to wake up in a pool of my own sweat 50 minutes later....

    Also, on a side note: 1-0 Woot!!!!!111!!!one.
