I rarely post, but loving this game a bit too much I guess. I'm halfway into my third playthrough. Just trying to fill up any sidequests and other optional stuff I missed on the previous two runs.

There are rumours going round that rare is working on this. Anyone as giddy about this as I am? Anyone know something more? I'm curious, and I hope it's close to the way the first killer instinct played because Gold sucked imo.

Hmmm... You forgot to include the "consumer retardness factor". Seriously, M$ hopes to sell around 3 million consoles in the first 90 days. They haven't lowered that statement yet and why should they? People are dumb enough. If they want one they will get one, no matter what. We are guilty of this as well, we only lucked out for choosing nintendo. I have yet to have a nintendo console fail on me (except that gameboy I dropped in the bathtub).

Paper Mario 2, it was memorable.

Tales of Phantasia hands down. Forgot about that oe. Hell, that game alone is worth getting a gba micro for. And that's exactly what I'm planning to do.

My favorite snes rpg's: - Secret of mana 1 & 2 - Secret of evermore - Zelda - Super Mario RPG - Terranigma - FF VI (III in U.S.) - Chrono Trigger My favorite RPG, allthough not very retro IMO would be FFVII. I wouldn't mind buying a remake of the game.

They wouldn't be able to release any snes developped game for the xbox 360, or developpers would have to convert the games to use the xbox platform. What nintendo is offering with the Rev is quite different as they have some sort snes emulator software onit, where microsoft would never get the lisence to use the snes coding on their xbox 360 thus forcing developpers to do more work to their games. I'm pretty shure post of them will get a rev release (on the downloadable service) as it's the easiest thing to do for them. I could be completely wrong though.

Well, apparently FIFA '06 plays more like PES. There are lots of similarities in game-mechanics and you can even set the controller buttons to "PES-setup" if you want. (Don't worry, it's not a shameless rip-off). I like it a lot, but haven't really been playing it that much. They finally got the AI right, it's actually hard to score a goal (unless you're playing on wussy difficulty). I'm not saying it's better or worse than PES, it's just pretty different from '05, and I think some PES-fans would be pleasantly surprised when they would try the newest fifa. I might buy it eventually, but for now I'll stick to playing against the shop-owner during lunch breaks.

You could always dye it. I'm thinking of dying it either black or hot pink. It's fairly easy to do and cheap, but you need the right tools to open up the snes. Basically you bathe the snes in a mix of water and rit dye. I haven't dyed snes's before, but this method works very well on all kinds of plastic (except delrin/celcon, damnit!). You can up the intensity of the color by bathing it longer in the dye or by adding some acetone to the mix. When you ad acetone be very carefull, as acetone actually hurts plastic. A too high dosage of acetone will screw whatever it was you were dying, as the plastic will not be firm anymore and bend in every possible way.

Last couple of days I've been addicted to Comix Zone and Sonic Spinball. These were among my favourit Megadrive games of all times. Also, been pkaying Alex kid in wonderland. It's been ages since I have played it. (rock, paper, scissors anyone?)

been playing killer instinct with a couple of buddies lately. Still unbeatable.

I'm heavily into emulation, but I don't download games I could buy on ebay (they're dirt cheap anyway). What I do look for are fan-translated Japanese games for the snes that are acually good. There are a lot of shitty games among them, but some are gems and sometimes better than most games coming out nowadays. Focus: post your recommendations for jap games here, add a small description of what they are. I'm currently into: - Front Mission Gun Hazard: Platform/shooter with rpg elements in it. Very good story and actually great to play. It's completely different than normal FM games and in my opinion it's better. -Tales fof Phantasia: RPG, picture yourself playing Tales of symphonia with a different story and different characters. It's one of the best looking games on the snes and the battle mechanism is 'absolutely fabulous'.

Yeah, star ocean is great, but so is treasure Island, the graphics on treasure Island are comparable to super mario RPG on the snes. They're that good. It's a totally different game though.

I don't really watch anime's, I have some on VHS I bought but apart from that I couldn't really be bothere with the whole thing. I prefer reading manga's though, because not every good manga get's an animated series. Some good ones I started collecting: - Lyn3 I haven't gotten far enough to tell something about the story but it seems very promising and the artwork is stunning. - Exaxxion (or gun/cannon god exaxxion I believe) An alien race has made contact with us humans, and under the pretence of living together in harmony and sharing technology they live among us. On the tenth aniversary of their arrival they claim the earth as theirs and thus rule our planet. One man, a scientist who discovered alien technology that was burried somewhere on earth is standing up to them with technology at least as advanced as theirs. I really love this one, the artwork is amazing, as is the story (allthough it's a bit cliché). It's from the same guy that did gunsmith cats. I could go on, but these are the ones I enjoy the most for now.
