It's great that they are speaking out more about the crisis in Japan. More and more game developers from Japan are focusing more on Western gamers. Trying to compete with the likes of EA, Rockstar and Ubisoft. It seems that Nintendo was able to stir things up with the DS and the Brain Age games. Other companies should try a similar approach.

Recently I read that Mikami was hanging around Kojima and Suda 51. They aren't working on a game that I know of (yet I've read that Suda 51 is considering doing a project with Kojima), but they will do a gig in a Japanese disco joint. Sort of a conference entitled "Snake vs Zombie" where Kojima and Mikami will talk about their games and how they come up with their crazy ideas. Anywhoo, if Suda 51 were to work with SEEDS in any way... I expect only good things to come out of that.

Just by reading Aonuma's comments on the NEGATIVE reaction some gamers had toward the cel-shaded Zelda, it's unlikely we will see them used more often. Unless he decides to share the engine with other R&D teams within Nintendo. Here's hoping that they use it again!

Oh, It's been a while since I played that game. Never actually found out if someone discovered a way to get to that secret book in the bottle level from Noki bay. They said that it contained secrets for use in the game. Do you know anything about that?

Shinji Mikami, one of the members of SEEDS apparently has an idea of how to make it last. He mentioned that if 1 out of 5 games becomes a hit, that 1 game can help support the other 4. That way they can keep taking chances. Capcom didn't think much of Mikami's ideas, though. And that is why he's with one foot out of the company (still has a contract with them).

The SNES controller pad was the first to have shoulder buttons. Heck, the N64 had them too.

And that's why SEEDS, Inc. was formed. The three major creators of Capcom still believe you can make artistic games (or at least games that are more than a Madden game with a different number stamped on it) and that's why with SEEDS they are saying F-U to the shareholders and Capcom execs that fear taking chances!

I just met on another board, a guy who claims that Wind Waker is the worst Zelda ever produced. And to prove his point, he's using an excerpt from an article from Spain that points out that Aonuma said that WW was taking the franchise to it's death. And that's why TP was made, to save it from that awful fate. The site is meristation.com and they seem to have published an article that reads "Wind Waker almost killed the Zelda franchise"... But didn't Aonuma actually said: So because the japanese market was weak, to make another WW game with that same celshading graphics was not in the cards. Aonuma needed to give western gamers what they wanted. A "realistic" Zelda. So was WW going to kill the franchise? I dunno... the new DS game uses similar graphics and looks pretty good.

Oh my friend, but what we CAN prove is that humans have had an effect on everything below the heavens of this puny dirt ball called Earth. The fact that entire species of animals fade away forever due to cutting down trees and draining rivers/lakes or by way of extensive hunting (for fur/eggs/horns/tusks/etc.) is proof enough that when 1 component of a food chain goes, the whole thing goes to hell. And that includes animals, plants, insects and eventually, ourselves. We like to think we are set apart from the other living organisms and that what happens to them does not warrant our attention... fools that we are. So my bet is that we play a major factor with this global warming phenomena.

Ugly or not, Super Mario Bros 3 is still considered one of the best in the series. And I rather play Castlevania III than the new ones for the DS. Because the gameplay is so much better. The new CV's play like Metroid wannabees. They're good, but I like the feel of the originals. But I guess to some, graphics are the carrot that leads them to sit in front of a tv playing a videogame for an hour or two.

Sorry about that. If you feel that TP is not your cup of tea, it's fine with me. Like I said, I have yet to meet a Zelda fan that actually loves every game from the franchise. So to read someone not liking TP or any of the other games, is not strange at all. Heck, I still find gamers who don't consider Majora's Mask part of the "main" series. But more like a spin-off that belongs with the CDi games.

I've been wondering the same thing about him. He must be writing using a very small keyboard. Or maybe he has fat fingers? Writing with a stick perhaps?

I know. But my PC monitor is smaller than the screen of my TV. So I have to play sitting very close to my PC. Not the way I used to play SNES games or even NES games at all. Thus you don't get the same retro-ish fix playing console games on the PC. The VC seems to provide that same feeling pretty well. And that's why it's such a hit for many old school gamers.
