  1. Playable Characters

Like a certain kind of aura? But yes, this is an interesting (and entertaining) way of looking at people.
  2. I hate phone sales people

    You forgot three letters.
  3. I hate phone sales people

Haha, great! Next time they call and ask whether I have a computer before starting their Windows spiel, I'm going to say "What? What's a computer? ::shrug:"!
  4. I hate phone sales people

Yeah, I've been going through the same thing. At one point they phoned me at least twice a week. Do you have caller ID? Just don't answer when you see it's them, hopefully they'll take you off the list.
  5. I hate phone sales people

Sounds like a scammer in a call centre if they mention a company you've never heard of. I keep getting calls from some call centre telling me that there's an urgent problem with Windows and I need to give them details so they can fix my computer (with magic?). ...who says I'm using Windows?
  6. DEATH NOTE Mafia

The automerge whose name is written in this note shall die.
  7. Things Which Are Difficult To Explain

What if it leads someone to take a stand against terrorist attacks as a result of reading your comic? It could also inspire non-violent readers in a different way, or provide them much-needed entertainment without being a bad influence (e.g. people who enjoy gory films don't necessarily start torturing people). I'm not trying to tell you want to do or change your mind, I understand that you'll only feel comfortable with it if you decide it on your own. Just attempting to put a positive spin on it
  8. Best and worst online communities?

This is pretty much the only forum I actually post on, being the only place I've encountered so far with a collection of intelligent, talented and opinionated people (and mafia games). Others I just use to occasionally and shamelessly steal music/ISOs from Music forums seem to be overrun with teenage girls and their fantasies with the band members. I dunno, ONTD has its charm...and the trolling, gif spams and crazy comments are part of it
  9. Boy, 13, faces life in prison without parole.

Solution: change the gun laws. Who the hell designs guns especially for kids?? But I want to know more about the kid, i.e. whether he has mental health issues. Doesn't seem like the full story's been told. The fiancee could have been an evil person who abused him until he snapped and shot her, or something like that (but I don't know, obviously).
  10. Things Which Are Difficult To Explain

You should go for it. If you find a language that you're really motivated to learn and take an intensive course, you can learn much faster than sitting in school learning generic tourist phrases as a bored teenager. The real challenge seems to be maintaining languages learned What's the criteria for being considered fluent in a programming language?
  11. Fictional Bands/Artists

I wish Sex Bob-Omb were a real band. As well as the Katayanagi twins.
  12. DEATH NOTE Mafia

Ok, good point. I suppose he could have been doing anything, which includes protecting the house(?)/something good.
  13. DEATH NOTE Mafia

Sorry, went to bed early last night... Looks like Smeagol's been derped...the dark-haired man is the most suspicious to me right now. Anyone have info about him? If the SFU have things like cameras and surveillance technology, why is this dude just standing on the roof? Maybe he was trying to break in/steal something/attack someone? I'm assuming he wasn't trying to kill, since the person with the Death Note could just stay at home and write in it peacefully...
  14. DEATH NOTE Mafia

The "SFU building"? Or someone's house?
  15. DEATH NOTE Mafia

Nope, my hair is not dark, we're two separate people. I "entered", while the dark-haired man was "on the roof".
  16. Things Which Are Difficult To Explain

Maybe because half of my hair was blonde. I dyed it again though, should post a new pic soon. (Me.)
  17. Things Which Are Difficult To Explain

Being the only Asian kid in pre, primary and secondary school, I was plagued with "where are you from?". My mum told me to say that I was born here, then when I started college I started saying that I'm Irish (I have both Irish and Chinese passports...). Except I blatantly don't look Irish and don't have Irish blood, so people end up not believing me. Especially drunks and strangers. It doesn't help that I don't have an Irish accent..apparently I sound Canadian yet look Japanese, which further fuels disbelief. I swear I'm not trying to trick everyone Or that you're allergic to alcohol?
  18. Black Swan

I understand where you're coming from, as a big music and not-as-big-but-still movie fan. But on the other hand I don't have a job yet (student) and can't afford to buy anything other than stuff I REALLY REALLY like or go to the cinema often. I have however paid for music before on Bandcamp. If everyone used something like that for both music AND movies, I would totally pay for my downloads because it's so convenient, and I know that the money goes directly to the artist. Is the iTunes store the same? I don't know, never used it, don't have any Apple products... When I get a proper job, I definitely intend to go to the cinema more. And I'll make sure to download - er, watch your future movie
  19. Lethal Weapon Reboot

Without Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, it's not Lethal Weapon. Just make a completely new action movie instead of a reboot!!
  20. Black Swan

I like the third one! I should really start looking at alternative posters for movies, since I end up preferring them to the original main character photoshop-o-rama etc. more often than not. Foreign versions sometimes look nicer as well. Well, it's not like I was going to go to the cinema with my friend, since she's halfway across the world. She just wanted to know what I think of it, and downloading...is free :p
  21. Black Swan

That poster is so bizarro (and art deco)! I promised a friend that I would watch this, but I'm not excited enough to see it in the cinema. So I'm just going to wait and download it. It does look good, but not my type of movie.
  22. Chips/Crisps?

This also happened to my dad before. The bag of crisps looked so out of place beside the burger! Yeah, that's the packaging in the North. I was actually in the Tayto Castle (i.e. factory) in Armagh before, for school. It was fun, and we got free cRISPs!
  23. bad stuff thread.

Go to the V&A. You can kill more than a few hours, and even if you find it boring or it's not your thing, it's worth it to even quickly walk through once. Camden Market is always interesting too, you can wander around for a few hours. I hope my suggestions aren't too touristy (since I was always in London as a tourist :p), but those are some of my favourite places...
  24. Bad Haircuts

I was expecting something far more awful than those pics! If you feel really dodgy about it, how about a beanie or hat like nightwolf suggested? Otherwise if you act normal and have fun, probably no one will notice. And if they do, I doubt there's anyone who's never experienced a bad haircut before in their life
  25. Jessie J - Do It Like A Dude

She makes such ugly/mad faces. It's possible to "do things like men" while still having grace, i.e. keep it classy. As for the music, it sounds like generic ~edgy~ pop music in the vein of Lady Gaga, with a dash of grime, nothing remarkable. But that's just my opinion.
