  1. Sony Vs Nintendo

It's cool :P I understand what you say, it's obvious that the GC controller offers easier accuracy I'm not saying you're wrong about that, but once used to the Wii Wheel I don't have any accuracy problems. I turn, jump, drift, do tricks, when I want, how I want, where I want. I don't doubt that metagamers (do those exist in MK?) prefer the stick. I understand where you're coming from, but since I can do whatever I do with the GC controller with the Wii Wheel I don't find that happens to me. Which reminds me I havent played MK in ages -.- True, I don't even have that and with all the games, consoles, peripherals, comics, manga, collectibles, I have lots of space problems xD
  2. Sony Vs Nintendo

He might copy paste a lot, but the things he pastes are very useful for these discussions, although I know most people don't like using facts in their arguments. lol, just lol Well, considering only a fraction of Wii owners have the BB and it's expensive, it's understandable. Not to mention it's not the kind of thing that's easily applied to every game. Sorry didn't see this one :P Space Harrier had sprites and fake 3D, basically it was just perspective.
  3. Fable 2

It's not in me to be evil in games either, even if these concepts of good and evil are very archaic. But after having a black son (white wife) that's also retarded (he's always paralized and stuck in a door), I feel like killing them. And the developers and Q&A testers, which were no doubt monkeys.
  4. Sony Vs Nintendo

You're in luck :P etc... (yes I like pics it makes a thread prettier :P ) Honestly Wii Fit alone already justified the price, although I've been slacking off lately, I certainly noticed that "playing" it made a difference. But let's try to keep this about ingenuity and innovation cause it's kind of veering off (I know, I'm guilty too)
  5. Pokemon Transport and Vehicles

    Time Paradox. I thought this thread was about Pokémon finally being real and I could fly on top of a Charizard ;_;
  6. What Would You Call Your Spawnlings?

Yeah, I'm like that too. Some people get all shocked, but at the moment I can't see myself wanting kids in the future. Maybe I'll change my mind, but right now that's what I think.
  7. N-Europe Forum Awards 2008 Edition!

We're more atuned with each other than the world will ever know.
  8. What Would You Call Your Spawnlings?

Holy shit, Charizard is an awesome name. João is a much better name. Even if you don't know how to pronounce it,
  9. Sony Vs Nintendo

I always found that a big piece of bull, I don't see why the Wii Wheel would automatically be worse than a normal pad, it works perfectly after you get used to it, I can control everything with the precision I want and I've beaten may people who use the GC controller. Of course this wouldn't apply to a driving sim, but in that case, steering wheel is the only correct answer anyway. And for example in DBZ BT3, the wii controls are less effective, but much much more interesting in fun, I'll take them everyday over classic controls. For Guilty Gear, Naruto and Brawl, classic controls any day. True. This is more the case for PS3 I think, even if I don't buy the exaggerations Sony make about the hardware, developing for both consoles doesn't let hardware to be used efficiently. I also think a 2 console market would be the ideal.
  10. PlayStation 3 Console Discussion

That was on purpose, they had to remove it because people are prudes. Pff Ahah really? Sweet
  11. Sony Vs Nintendo

Will do, it's off topic too, so doesn't matter.
  12. Ugh damned patent hunters...
  13. Sony Vs Nintendo

Yeah I totally said that. 100% Platforming games didn't exist before Donkey Kong. Period. Frogs had a frog doing a jump animation, but you just chose the direction and Space Panic had you climbing ladders. I dunno about you, but a platform game to me is where you can press a button/whatever to jump in a desired direction and avoid gaps/obstacles. This is going into semantics, but what does it matter if a genre was created if it had nothing that could class it as a part of the genre today? Ignoring that in the 70s 80s they probably didn't think about genres, creation isn't a one time thing and labels hardly matter, what's important is what's inside and the features. If a company created the features that really made a difference in the early stages, they're no doubt one of the creators of the genre. I'm not talking about who created labels, I'm talking about who created the content and what we actually play. It's not like I'm saying they invented the concept of jumping or adventuring. And when I talk about adventure I talk about action-adventure. And why should I care if ipods are now must have or well known, they didn't innovate or come up with anything feature wise, they simply marketed it well. Completly different things.
  14. Anime and manga discussion

Superior correction. Although I have no idea if the story is the same since I just saw the first ep of ergo proxy.
  15. What Would You Call Your Spawnlings?

Damnit I love that Pokémon artist, so awesome.
  16. Sony Vs Nintendo

It was the first console game with 3D acceleration, so at least in consoles, yes.
  17. Sony Vs Nintendo

So they needed them to have success, they didn't need to inovate. Different things. Except Nintendo created most of what makes those genres what they are, meaning they pretty much had the biggest role in creating them, while apple just became standard in a commercial way, they didn't exactly innovate a lot feature wise. Donkey Kong was the first real platform game, it was the first game where you could control your character's jumps and make him jump over gaps, so even without going in too deep, they did in both theory and practice create platform games.
  18. Sony Vs Nintendo

No they didn't. Nintendo have innovated on software and/or hardware in a regular basis and they're always rolling around in money. They definitely didn't have too. Mario and Zelda for examplecompletely changed gaming in so many ways I won't even bother listing them, this wasn't simply making something great, they pretty much created everything that's standard today, even if the genres already existed, by themselves they are nothing without the gameplay features. In fact Donkey Kong was the first game where the player could control the jump of a character (in a platformer game, there were other genres where you could jump O suppose), thus it's the first true platformer. Also, about avatars and miis, this is pretty interesting: I wouldn't say Miis have stagnated, pretty much the opposite, in Mario Kart, Wii Fit and specially Wii Music, Miis and in the upcoming We Sky showed their use. But I agree let's not go into who invented the wheel, it's pretty useless. I don't care too much about who copies who, I do get annoyed (more like amused) when fans/haters shrug something off and make fun of it only to welcome its copies with open arms on other consoles. And what really really takes the cherry is when companies *coughcoughsonycoughcough* completly scoff and make fun of what other companies do, but when they realise they're taking a beating they copy them and say they came up with it and it was all according to the keikaku (note: "keikaku" means "plan" in japanese). Which is why I watch the massive damage E3 conference remixes on youtube when I wanna laugh. Still, hardly matters, what matters is that the user can benefict from it. It's easy to say that with hindsight, not when things don't exist. Not only are ideas hard to come up with, they're nothing without successful implementation. Also one thing is analog stick (as in joystick) another is a thumb analog stick.
  19. What Would You Call Your Spawnlings?

    Son Goku obviously.
