  1. Firewatch

PC game, possibly coming to consoles.
  2. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Yeah but an accessory is never gonna generate as much hype as a console release! Put Wii U Pre Order up against Wii Wheel Pre Order and see how that looks.
  3. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Gaming evolves hand in hand with technology and thus 4K/HDR gaming is going nowhere. But just because we have this technology it doesn't mean you can't play a Shovel Knight on it.
  4. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

The Wii U almost ruined them as a home console manufacturer, and is quite possibly why they are having to charge for online this gen.
  5. 1-2 Switch (March 3rd 2017)

Actually that's a good point, there's no reason this couldn't have been more structured like a Wario Ware... or even Wario Ware.

Blockbuster would be 37 years old this year. What's your point? Make bad decisions and you'll go out of business. Want to remind me how Sega are doing?
  7. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

    Nintendo's Wii -> Wii U transition :p
  8. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Spend all 400 million and it wouldn't... but correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not like you sit on the board of directors at Nintendo and are qualified to talk about their finances.

What?... That profit then has to go into future development... they're not just sitting on it Scrooge McDuck style.

I don't mean to slight Nintendo's past work, but I do feel the 'value' of NES/SNES games has greatly diminished by this stage. The amount of times Nintendo have given the same games away over consoles/promotions/NES classic over the years is in itself a joke these days. If the rental games were (as in my opinion they should be to add value) N64/Gamecube/Wii games... I think this would all be a much smaller issue. Knowing that I'll be receiving NES/SNES games for an online subscription almost turns me off the service more - because it's just the same old thing, and no one wants that in any aspect of life. I think it's fair to say the value of PS+ has diminished lately... however I still think there's something to be said for still providing experiences people haven't played, even if they're not the missed PS3 blockbusters they were 6 months/a year or so ago.

Do you think Nintendo are emphasising the TV <-> Handheld function enough in their advertising running up to launch? The initial Switch reveal video seemed like it put it across well, but in the latest Superbowl ad it was barely shown - and even then I'd personally say the focus wasn't clear enough on what was actually happening - as in the shot itself should have made the Switch from Handheld to TV more evident. It didn't actually show the image moving from one device to the other, and for all intents and purposes could have been someone just picking up a game save on the home console once they'd returned home with the device. I'm very surprised there isn't one TV -> Handheld and one Handheld -> TV moment in every advert - considering the short lead up to launch. The Superbowl ad seemed ridiculously handheld focused, which is fine if that's the message Nintendo want to portray - it'll be the bigger market for them - I just wasn't aware that it was. (for reference)
  12. Indie Games

I think this is a nice idea for small Indie games that may go unnoticed. I think it's instantly apparent which Indie games should get their own thread, games like FAST (can just use the existing thread), Rime, Journey, Unfinished Swan... but it's felt a bit desperate lately starting a new thread for every new Switch Indie game - obviously due to lack of confirmed/launch titles. Threads may get a couple of posts and then they sink. If a game builds enough momentum before launch, or is well worth everyone discussing and sharing upon it's release then it can always get it's own thread at that time. I wouldn't have left a comment in the Tumbleseed thread because singularly it doesn't captivate my interest [at this stage], but I'm happy it was brought to my attention - and was going to comment as such here.
  13. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

The only factor could be if Nintendo do Zelda/Mario themed-console bundles - if you're a fan of such console designs.
  14. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

I dunno, I was just talking, but you're still doing a good job of finding things to *moan* about so I think we're set.
  15. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

I realise it's not a TV spot. There's no ad break in the world that would accommodate that. I think HD rumble is a fantastic evolution, and if anyone's aware of past comments I've always hyped it up. I can think of great ways it can be used. It's the other superfluous tech I'm thinking of.
  16. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Urgh 1,2,Switch is just embarrassing... It's a bit crazy that ad is 50% longer than the reveal video, I'd totally lost interest by 1,2,Switch. I'm kinda disappointed that I won't be jumping on the Switch bandwagon anytime soon, but I also think in 5 years time we'll be looking back at the Switch and wondering why Nintendo bothered to put so much unnecessary tech in the controllers that went completely to waste.
  17. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Honestly I think the vast majority of these controller colours look horrendous, and would look even worse attached to the Switch or the black charger. There's something about the Neon Red/Blue that works on the tablet itself mind you.
  18. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

I don't think that's even a thing. Controllers that do have analogue triggers are as light as anything - PS3 controller is ridiculously so.
  19. Tennis Thread

OK, so I've been watching quite a bit of the French Open over the last two weeks thanks to ITV4's (pretty much all day) coverage! It's been really enjoyable getting a chance to watch it properly! Rafa's incredible win over Ferrer just now has inspired me to create this thread, because I know there are people on here who enjoy Tennis; we've had the occasional Wimbledon threads on here before but them it sort of dissapears for the rest of the year. So hopefully this thread can be used to talk all Tennis. There's gonna be the other epic semi final between Federer and Djokovic in a bit, which was gonna start but then there was a rain delay. And it's Queens next week and then of course Wimbledon!
  20. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Thought Snipperclips was a launch game, so yeah much needed. Couldn't believe what a Wind Waker rip-off Oceanhorn looked - and not in a good way. Can't see anyone here buying it honestly.
  21. Resident Evil VII

I'm going to try and muster up the courage to play this sometime. I wasn't sure until I just watched the Easy Allies review. It's going to be one hell of a challenge, but it looks too good of an experience to miss. I don't know when I'll get around to buying it, but I do know this gonna be tough.
  22. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Possibly as with Titanfall, the game just wouldn't fit on the console?
  23. The Avengers (and other Marvel games)

Crystal Dynamics off of Tomb Raider and Eidos Montreal of Deus Ex........ Consider me pumped!
  24. Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

Shape of the JoyCons. A brain.
  25. Tbf didn't they say they started developing the Switch version 1 year ago. I would have thought it could have been implemented, however I'm sure the rumble in there is used sufficiently, and like I said I wasn't even expecting it. It's right that they prioritise everything else. I hope they haven't cut out to much and it's their full vision. Has there been any word on this? I haven't really been following to closely.
