What a goal. Get in there, Luke! He's been brilliant all season, for both United and England.

Matterface is horrific. The actual coverage is alright, but the commentary just isn't up to it. It's a shame as the Champions League matches back in the day used to be iconic. The Adrian Chiles choice was...quite something. Can imagine the BBC and SkySports lot bricking it when ITV wheeled him out.
-
Just lol at ITV thinking that they're important and showing the game, too. As if anybody is going to watch the game there instead of on the BBC. Stick with your Peak Practice, ITV.

Less than an hour to go. I went with a 2-0 Italy prediction last week and that's what my head is saying. My heart is saying that England might just do it, though.

COVID-19 (The artist formally known as Coronavirus)

The change regarding masks being optional is one that I wasn't expecting. I fully expected them to remain mandatory. For those busy places like train stations, shops, buses, etc, I will still plan to wear mine. I'm not bothered at all by wearing them and it just feels a bit reckless to ditch them completely. Even giving people the option just feels like a cop-out for shirking responsibility, as they can just blame the general public. I'm due to get my second jab later this month, but I think it would reckless for people to just think that they were completely safe even after getting the vaccine. Still feels like there's a long way to go with this yet. -
Hang on...where's Southgate's waistcoat?!

I do think Italy will properly knob us in the final. 2-0. All depends if Chiesa is fit enough for it or not, as I think he pulled up towards the end of yesterday's game. Italy's midfield vs. Rice, Mount, and Phillips. Fuck. Could get messy. Looking forward to Southgate bringing on Grealish in the last 10 seconds of the final. I bet he makes him sit at a separate table, using plastic cutlery and ordering off the kids menu.

Fucking called it, ladssss.
-
Can't believe he took him off! What is that all about? I think leaving him out from the starting 11 entirely is a massive call anyway, but to bring him on and take him off is just weird. Not sure what he's playing at.
-
Think that was a very, very generous penalty. I was certain it was going to get overturned. England have done enough to get a second goal, but you have to admit that we've been very fortunate with both goals.
-
I get the feeling that he's saving it for extra time. If he puts on another attacker in, say, midfield, there's always the possibility that Denmark can counter and nick the winner. At least with extra time you're guaranteed time.
-
Gotta bring on both/either Grealish and/or Sancho. Denmark are tiring.
-
Own Goal has had a terrific tournament. He may get top scorer.
-
My prediction before the game was 2-1 England after extra-time. I'm sticking with that.
-
Pickford should totally have had that, imo. It's right in the middle of the goal...
-
I think we'll see a similar pattern to yesterday's game. England (like Spain) will have a lot of the ball, but Denmark will hope to get something on the counter. It's all about whether we can get a goal or two in that first half.
-
I'm seeing a lot of posts online about people assuming England will just somehow breeze into the final to play against Italy. This is the same England that were underwhelming against Scotland. I don't think anything should get taken for granted. Focus on the next game first.
-
Belgium are annoying me with how often they give the ball away. Tielemans and Witsel in the middle have been quite disappointing, imo. Just giving the Italians so much space and aren't really doing anything to either defend or attack.

Red card was a clear red, all day long for me. If that guy's leg isn't broken, he is extremely lucky. It wasn't intentional, but it's an out of control lunge that was high on the opponent's leg and looked very nasty. We can't be going around saying that attempts like that are ok for the ball. It's dangerous and reckless. I'm slightly amazed at how divisive that sending off has been across social media and other forums. So many seem to think that it was a very harsh judgement.

England have had a massive leg-up with this competition in terms of their venue for matches, their little need to travel, and having their home fans so easily able to attend games. I do think other nations have a right to feel aggrieved. Belgium had their games at St Petersburg, Copenhagen, back to St Petersburg, Seville, and the next game is in Munich! In comparison, England have had four games at Wembley. Not sure how this can be justified...

The Grealish sub made a huge difference. Overall, did enough to win that game. Phew! The key to England winning anything is to play every international game at home.
-
England have been so disappointing to watch in this tournament. The quality of the football is just not great. Considering who we have in the squad, the football we are playing should be considerably better.
-
I thought England looked ok in that first half. Mildly threatening, slightly the better of the two teams, and decent-ish. Wouldn't surprise me if we manage to sneak in a goal or two in the second half.

What a game. Fucking hell. I was properly slagging off Switzerland after their penalty miss in normal time and when they conceded those goals. "Is Switzerland actually a country? It isn't Germany, it isn't France, it isn't Austria, it isn't Italy. What the fuck is it?!" "All they do is banking and chocolate." "What did the Swiss ever do for us?" The quality of football was great overall. Really exciting to watch. It was like the footballing equivalent of Rocky. Or even Rocky II. Proper good. Fuck off, France.
