  1. Quoted for truth. Zelda can work with voices just as about every other game can. You only need to listen to Xenoblade and Kid Icarus for some fantastic voice acting in Nintendo games.
  2. Mario Wii U Appearing At E3 This Year

That's a fallacy prevailing since last E3 among certain folks. Tell me, what audience was the Wii U's reveal video targeted at? It certainly wasn't the type of people screaming for console manufacturers to sell them 800$ PCs at a loss. Considering this is what self entitled "(hard) core gamers" have seemingly come to.
  3. Mario Wii U Appearing At E3 This Year

Going by a sales ratio of about 4:1, you could say that, yes. I don't get the hate and cynicism either. Not at this point at least. If this turns out to be no more than the demo we saw last E3 with added levels, than sure, that's cause for disappointment. On the other hand though, there is no reason, why they couldn't turn a NSMB game into something more grand than the previous games, that stuck a bit too close to the roots. Given that the multiplayer was what I would consider the main feature of NSMBW, I'm very intrigued to see what they can do with the tablet and up to four Wiimote players.
  4. Mario Wii U Appearing At E3 This Year

The lazy route it is then. Still, I hope they do something more interesting than what they showed at E3. Some form of asynchronous multiplayer etc.. NSMBW was brilliant in multiplayer and the levels were ok, but somehow it lacked the constant surprises that Galaxy threw at you. Just adding Miis would be extremely lazy. I don't particularly like the style of the levels either and hope they put some more work into it. Even NSMBW was bland at best.
  5. Mario Wii U Appearing At E3 This Year

Cynical comments get poorer with every unnecessary exclamation and punctuation mark you use. :p (Edit: That actually applies to anything) And yes, it is news and mildly surprising ones at that. The "NSMB Wii" demo was clearly labeled as such and not supposed to be turned into a full game according to Nintendo. I guess this might still happen, if they're about to take the lazy route. We also know that Nintendo wants to release a 2D Mario game for the 3DS, possibly even this year. That's two actual Mario games in the pipeline we might see at E3.
  6. [Spoiler-Free] Zelda: Skyward Sword

Considering the trailer showed Link riding through empty planes and running through a couple of trees - not at all satisfying. The visuals just don't play into it. We've had boring and empty three times over now with three different styles. Wind Waker's Ocean, Twilight Princess' whole world and Skyward Sword's clouds. And you're being delusional, if you think Twilight Princess didn't live up to that trailer technically. Minus the parts that were obviously cut, Twilight Princess was exactly what that trailer showed. Especially Link's character model was the same. If you think otherwise, you need to look more closely. Thing is, at the Gamecube's and Wii's low resolution, it's technically impossible to show all the detail of the character models, unless the camera is that close. Which almost never happens outside of cutscenes.
  7. Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two (Nov 23rd)

I already wasn't a fan of the movement physics in the first game. It's hard to describe, but I think they felt indirect and lacked "personality". For me that was a result of the floatyness of mickeys movements. If this footage is anything to go by, it's the same here. It didn't help that the game tried to be a Jump'n'Run half of the time. Aiming with the paint was another thing that felt off, as hitting something depended on Mickey's line of sight, but the camera was all over the place. I'd be surprised though, if they didn't support the pointer again. I can't see why they would support Move otherwise. Maybe they have just included a Classic Controller option and the player in this footage is using it?
  8. Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two (Nov 23rd)

Some 10 minutes of Wii footage: Found it on Rock Paper Shotgun of all places. Edit: Ok, I'm confused. Where's the pointer? o.O I believe the camera looks improved, but the player messes up quiet a bit at the end of the video. It looks as if they're controlling the paint by turning the player...
  9. Kid Icarus Uprising

And they spoil the story for you.
  10. Wii General Discussion

It's also very easy to avoid having to, as you can just point to a comfortable center position before you change weapons/start aiming/enter first person view. The only case where that is impossible, is changing the dowsing targets in first person mode... Good luck with the WM+!
  11. Wii General Discussion

@Jamba Have a look at Sméagol's post above. His issues sound quiet similar to what you're experiencing. Edit: New NoE trailer for (mostly) old games, still neat.
  12. Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance

Numerous special editions with all kinds of printings on it suggest otherwise. And I'd like to see the person, who turns their 3DS by 180° when they close it and put it down on a surface in front of them.
  13. Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance

Why? For the benefit of people watching you play? It's the right way round, as that's they way you're likely to look at it, when you see it as the system's owner.
  14. Rumor: THQ Bankrupt/Looking For Buyers

Can we interpret "refocused" as "canceled, but we're trying to save some investment by using already produced assets for another game"? Source
  15. Kid Icarus Uprising

There is a connection to be made in that picture:
  16. Darksiders II

I'd really like to know, if they're implementing the "handheld style" usage of the padlet. Switching equipment on the fly sounds like a nice gimmick, but seeing as it's a multiplatform title and this functionality is "tacked on", I would be disappointed if they didn't offer the option to play the game using only the padlet.
  17. Plus, fluctuating costs for harddrives in such sad events as floods in Thailand won't affect the cost for the system's components. That may be cold speculation, but it might also be a consideration for Nintendo.
  18. Why? Support for USB hard drives has been confirmed last E3. I can totally see Nintendo delegating the cost of providing the harddrive itself to the consumers.
  19. Only with Wiimote(+) support. Depending on when the game will be released, I'd even think a WiiU-port might be likely. I've gotten extremely skeptical about these rumored game lists. Where are they supposed to come from? A source close to Nintendo? How is that source supposed to gain access to huge lists of games in development by various developers? Whenever a game list appeared that turned out to be a legit rumor, it seems to me that it only consisted of a handful of games at most. Not to mention that this is a 1 year old niche site that seems unlikely to have reliable contacts in or close to the industry who might actually be privy to such information.
  20. Kid Icarus Uprising

For embedding the video I mean.
  21. Kid Icarus Uprising

@bryanee Use spoiler tags! Another video posted on neogaf and another spoiler:
  22. Kid Icarus Uprising

Anybody interested in some music samples?
  23. Xenoblade Chronicles Official Thread

From what I hear, we're talking about an 10 hour run-along-corridors start vs. a 30 hours of do-as-you-wish start. After the High Enthia capital, you'll start approaching the story's core. As of now, you'll be thinking the story is about taking revenge on robots who killed Shulk's (wannabe girl)friend.
  24. Xenoblade Chronicles Official Thread

You stopped before the game had even started.
