  1. which is why we shouldn't be getting new generations into the habit of eating junk food at such a young age. thing is aswell, some kids will come from families that feed them junk for breakfast and supper, so it helps them by having at least one meal of decent food a day. it would be ridiculous to claim that this move is anything but a positive thing.

i absolutely agree there, but some schools just dont have the facilities to make healthy food there on that day, and they have to be all cooked somwhere and shipped off and reheated...urgh lol

  2. I agree with that in some ways, but obesity is just bad. aye nowt wrong with having "meat on ur bones" as u put it, but when it affects your health its not good. eating a fry every day will head you in the right direction for a heart attack when you're 30/40

  3. I had two sausages, a dollop of smash and an array of vegetables for my lunch today, a meal that was interpreted as the 'healthy option' by the kitchen staff. I would argue that every element of my meal consisted merely of reconstituted chips fashioned in such a way that their origins would remained undiscovered.

thats very true...the healthy option in my school always meant soggy veg etc etc. the unhealthy food smelt and looked so much more better!

  4. Yep, let's use the actions of a few men as an excuse to mock the entire French population. This is both logical and rational, and will solve all our problems!

    Exactly... well said mate.

things like this go on in other coutries. and this isnt the fault of all french.

im beginning to wonder why all these threads are being un-intentionally changed to flame wars :(

  5. After seeing that i kind of feel grateful for where i went to school. we had awesome food, curries, pizza baguette things (heaven!), roast dinners, chips salad puds etc. our prices were..average, probably cost about 3-3.50 a day for lunch.

  6. Personally I don't really care what is on offer to eat. I'd prefer if they made it illegal for canteen food to be ridicuosly overpriced. At my school, its 60p for a packet of crisps, 80p for a fizzy drink (can) or £1.50 for a bottle, 65p for a Twix and well I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

thats a joke!!! :o 80p for a can!? and ur lunch would add up to 4/5 quid a day you think? how can families afford that. 3 kids. £5 a day per child...o.O

  7. Sky remote, folder full of bank statements, lots of pens, ipod, a cd stack thing (25 high) headphones for the pc, obvious stuff like cpu, monitor keyboard mouse etc. plus a box full of games, cd wallet, cables, old cd player, and a couple of usb storage devices. i hoarde too much. :)

  8. Does this affect what kids bring in for packed lunch, surely they arent gunna search their lunch!?! i mean im all for healthy eating etc etc but you cant force kids to eat food they don't like. It would be better only lettin the kids have a choice of one item of junk food for lunch.

When i was at high school they stopped selling ALL junk food (3+ years ago) and the kids just went down the street at lunch (which was banned) and bought chippy, sweets crisps etc.

edit: i think having a choice of junk food or health food one day a week would be a good idea, and serve healthy food the rest of the week. There's nothin wrong with eating junk food the odd time!

  9. the IRA side of things has quietened down a lot these past few years but it wil never go away completely and also with so many other republican and loyalist groups who are up to no good all the time (ie PIRA, RIRA etc) the trouble will probably never go away fully.

    totally agree

While theres people that believe the other side is evil in this country there never will be peace. The children will believe whatever mummy and daddy says is true. then the hate gets passed down generations.
