  1. I'm in way too deep with Wii U to sell it on. I still have about 10 games in my backlog to finish.

Plus, yeah, due to the low sales it's going to be a nightmare to find in future and I've made the mistake of selling systems and games to fund new ones before.

Still trying to rebuild my N64 and GameCube collection.

  2. Having never seen any Studio Ghibli movies, I'm digging into those at the moment!

    Spirited Away

I can't really fault this movie in any way, everything about it is utterly beautiful. Loved the way Yubaba runs around.

    My Neighbour Totoro

This might be the greatest animated movie of all time. The two sisters are absolutely adorable and Totoro himself is pretty much completely insane.

  3. I'll 'HEY SIRI' if I need a cooking timer, that's about it really.

I once had a very friendly homeless man give me a full demonstration of voice recognition on his Android smartphone outside Euston station. He was very polite and respectful to Google, ensuring he offered thanks for every piece of information provided. This remains one of my more surreal recent memories.

  4. Need to pop by my local Smyths, who I have an online reserve and collect pre-order with, to see if I'll be allocated a launch unit. Would much prefer to drop at 9am on launch day rather than sit around waiting for the online delivery.

Went for grey, I'll grab an extra set of colourful Joycon when more flavours are available - probably around when Arms hits.

The Joycons also have + and - identifiers on them to help differentiate each unit.

  5. I'm just happy I can own a complete copy of Mario Kart 8. With everything compiled on the Switch cart, all the content will be accessible forever unlike the Wii U version which will eventually go offline and prevent people obtaining the DLC packs.

  6. What were the glaring oversights?

It's very possible I myself have overlooked or missed something, but...

I think it was pretty absurd that two people switching bodies and leaving regular digital phone diary entries for each other failed to realise their lives were taking place three years apart.

Not to mention the numerous cues to show the time difference that they'd have encountered each and every time they switched. They both have calendars in their bedrooms, they're attending school and part time jobs, television broadcasts, the array of advertisements that would have been dotted around Tokyo.

At the moment I'm chalking the fact neither noticed up to Shinto spirit hijinks, but for something so meticulously crafted I couldn't help but feel like this part kinda lets down what is otherwise an incredible film.

  7. RED

Random dumb popcorn flick Netflix watch, enjoyed it way more than I thought I would.

    Your Name

Beautiful visuals, memorable soundtrack and a truly engaging story if you can ignore some glaring oversights.

    Godzilla Resurgence

Great depiction of the big guy, really interesting perspective on the Japanese government response. Satomi Ishihara.

  8. Really feels like specifically announcing there would be more games than demonstrated would have been in their favour. Nintendo continue to make baffling decisions.

Still, if these extra games are as fun as the ones we've seen so far, 1, 2, Switch will probably end up as a decent, albeit expensive, little launch title.

  9. After playing today, it's more likely for me. The hardware is amazing and I can swallow the higher-than-expected price point a little easier now. Zelda feels fantastic on it, 1,2 Switch is really fun (and joining my collection on day one if I can find it at a decent price) and Arms, Splatoon 2, Snipperclips and Mario Kart are all looking truly solid for the next few months as well. Consider me slightly less bummed out after my hands on.

  10. I had an amazing time with this today. It's so satisfying to play and has real potential to be another massive Nintendo IP like Splatoon if they can add enough content to justify a full retail game.

Everyone else playing seemed to be having a blast too. Arms had the most booths at the London event and it was easy to see why.

Also interested in the depth that would be offered using non motion controls.

  11. I prefer the online system of the Wii U as it has no additional cost, but I'm hoping it'll be a bit easier to stomach the new Switch proposal when more details are known and certain concerns are addressed or clarified.

If Nintendo want to charge anything close to other systems for their online service, they had better provide an online service worthy of that fee. Otherwise it's just an unnecessary entry barrier for a system seemingly plagued with issues before it has even released.

  12. So motion controls can be switched (ooh-hoo) off and some players are reporting a decent amount of depth and strategy to this. I guess the key word for Arms is potential.

Hope Nintendo can work some more interesting ideas into this to justify that price tag.
