Although I don't speak much, had to mute the mic. My sister was constantly speaking in Portuguese and then my brother came up shouting [REDACTED] things. Also, this is probably her last evening on this, I can't believe that for most of the night she was doing her best to keep me in fifth. Sorry about the Toad Harbor thing, my pro controller freaked out. Loved the set up. hated the choice of some courses. A fun evening overall.

That green shell was a Hail Mary to see if I could improve some positions in that last lap. I'm sure I can relate my good positioning on some tracks to the type of items I get. I got two coins while in sixth in one of the races and ended up almost last, there was another in which I got in one lap three mushrooms three times. Could you send me the link too? I'd like to have a look at the file... maybe I can glean something from it, or give something to it. Also 60MBs isn't a bit much for an excel file?

Finally had some luck this evening, even saw a bomb-omb bounce just next to me without exploding. @Dcubed was in a bad mood, kept always choosing random.

@lostmario, something came up and I'm not sure I'll be home on time. I don't mind giving up my place if need be; otherwise keep me on the list just in case I'm home on time.

I'll be blunt, haven't touched Mario Kart since the last game of the league last year. Well, maybe a few times, since I've some cousins visiting for the last couple of weeks. But I share the feeling that MK started to feel like a chore late last year and it doesn't help how rubbish Battle Mode is in a otherwise almost perfect game (except for the item rape :P); it could've spiced things up a bit to have some sessions of it. Last night the league started badly, had two last places in quick succession during the first couple of races... but gosh I was having fun and laughing hard. Then things took a turn for the better with some gripping races. Managed to throw a red shell at RedShell for good measure and payback someone who tried to touch me with his star and missed. Looking forward for more races...

I'm pretty upset with this game. After the first season, lots of grinding and some online matches, I get the impression this game is more like Game Dev Story. You choose a couple of options, train your team, watch the cute animations for 10min and repeat. It was all very exhilarating in the beginning, but after the first season without going through, finding about special teams that give you special combos (that I grinded many hours to try and find some of) and a menu that lists those found but doesn't allow you to apply the special combos from it... There's no way I can forgive Nintendo for charging a £13 for a game that feels like a fiver. By the way, any plans to create a league?

Yes. It's very linear in the beginning but it gets better late in the game. If you like Fusion, which is also a bit linear, you'll like this one.

Although I'm not a regular member of this forum, especially since a couple of years back, some members may remember me from Modern Warfare and The Conduit online sessions. Isn't that what Jeff Gerstmann said on his hands-on of the demo (check for the Metroid: Other M hands-on on Giant Bomb, since I'm not allowed to put urls just yet)? About the game, I have my reservations though.
