Put Streetpass on your mobile phone and no one will take their 3DS out with them. In what world is that an outcome Nintendo would want??

Oh right a podcast or two talk negatively about Streetpass, perfect reasoning to suggest that "barely anyone uses it". People had mobile phones a few years ago too you know. Difference is there weren't 50 millions 3DS systems out there being played on the go. You say you don't get Streetpass "other than in huge cities, and even then barely", people on this very thread are saying they get 10 easily in one trip out. I certainly do, I take my 3DS about in London but also on the train to other places in the UK and I always get lots of hits. Don't speak unless you know what you're talking about. Why is it "bizarre" to call puzzle pieces, extra in-game perks because of Streetpass hits a reward? That's what they are. Likewise play coins. Again, it isn't "nobody wants to do it", it's not a "slim chance", and there's no "may" get a reward, you will get a reward. FFS. For the millionth time, Streetpass is there as an incentive to take your 3DS out with you. Why would Nintendo care if you bring your phone out with you, but leave your 3DS tucked up at home? They want you to bring it out, show it off, spread word of mouth etc. Why would Nintendo give Streetpass hits to someone who takes their mobile phone out with them, as every single person in this country does. Why not just give them free points every day? You might as well just ditch the service.

How exactly do you know that "barely anyone uses it"? There are 50 million 3DSs out there, a PORTABLE system designed to be play games on the go. Streetpass hits is about rewarding people who take their 3DS out with them. An app on your phone (even if you have the system at home) rewards people for what, taking their phone out with them?

I got my Rosalina from a restock on the official store. Must have been soon after they went up I guess. The only one I didn't get from there is Little Mac (which I got for £26 off eBay)

Why should Nintendo reward people for taking their iPhones out and about ? As you say... Exactly. 3DS owners. Not iPhone owners.

The very simple concept that Nintendo want people to take their 3DS out with them, spread word of mouth etc, is being missed. Ignoring the fact that embedding Streetpass technology into an iPhone app is pretty much impossible in its' current state, they have pretty much no reason to do so. What message does that send? "Leave your 3DS at home, take your iPhone out and about!" They've set up the Streetpass relays for those who don't live in very busy places. For the rest of us, it works great. Maybe once their mobile presence starts up they can look into something similar, but for now I don't see a problem with the current system.

How about what gamers who've actually played the game are saying: "Splatoon: the most revolutionary, exciting shooter in years" "Nintendo reinvents the multiplayer shooter" This game needs voice chat!!

Just because it's not working that well (I think it works great personally, living in London) doesn't mean Nintendo should reward you for taking your iPhone out and about. They set up the relays because the whole point of Streetpass is to take your 3DS out with you.

It would defeat the purpose because the whole point of Streetpass is for you to take your 3DS out with you and play it on the go in public places. That's what Nintendo want, and they reward you for doing so. Leaving your 3DS at home and using your iPhone or whatever to collect hits goes against the whole concept of Streetpass.

That defeats the purpose of Streetpass. Nintendo want you to take your 3DS out with you, you get play coins for however many steps you take and hits when you pass by another system. It's a brilliant idea to be fair.

Not sure why it seems weird? The original trilogy didn't have the episode numbers in the title, and these films need to get as far away as possible from the prequels.

I'd hate to see a story trailer, to the point where I'm going to (try) and go media blackout on this film until release. Don't want to be spoiled anymore.

This film is going to make the generic samey Marvel ones look like utter shit.

Personally I couldn't care less about the Palutena amiibo but it looks so good I was half tempted to buy it anyway!
