  1. Ring Fit Adventure

Thought this deserved its own thread. I can update when they show it off properly next week. Switch Fit seems to be the obvious theory doing the rounds but it looks a lot more gamey than that guess we'll find out on the 12th I like them doing a tease like this, gets a bit of buzz going before the proper reveal. EDIT: Reveal Trailer:
  2. They love to troll us with that Isabelle in Smash bait and switch (*click*)
  3. Indie Games

Every day there seems to be a new indie game announced for the Switch so I figured this would be a good place to group some of the "smaller" titles together (though obv feel free to start standalone threads should you so choose). Thought I'd start off with this game just announced coming to Switch in Spring: TumbleSeed Looks great!
  4. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Just put in a couple hours... Great so far. The presentation is top notch, very cinematic, the intro was really well done. Nice that the game gets you into the gameplay quickly. Once it opens up, the opening area is pretty daunting, tempting to just go in any direction and explore. Ultrahand takes a bit of getting used to, the rotation especially.
  5. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Collector's Edition is expensive but in person it's really high quality. The way everything is packaged and displayed is lovely. Pins and the metallic poster are great and the art book is much bigger than I was expecting. Seeing it in person I'd have said £110 is about right. Plus the Nintendo Store throw in a couple of extras for free on top of that anyway.
  6. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Collector's Edition from the Nintendo store comes with a couple of extra bits so the box is enormous! I appreciate the packaging art though...
  7. Nice preview here from IGN, who saw gameplay It's weird, the Ubi conference made it seem like this game was a couple of years away from release, but no, it's out in 8 months lol (Also on PS4/Xbox One/PC)
  8. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

I realise the every branch on a tree on a sky island doesn't load when you're on the surface, but the game is more technically demanding. That's fact.
  9. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

I know first party publishers have things a little easier because they can QA and typically release games whenever they want, but this quote from IGN: is remarkable, especially given the game is such a complex sandbox. Absolutely insane. Quite a contrast to other big releases this gen. Best developers on the planet.
  10. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Breath of the Wild had one overworld. Tears has floating sky islands everywhere and build-anything construction kits. You're being disingenuous. It's a much more technically demanding game.
  11. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Reviews are coming in. Metacritic is currently broken, but it was at 97 last I checked. Same as BOTW. Masterpiece confirmed. Edit: couple more
  12. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

*puts lucky bastard @Julius on ignore out of spite*
  13. The Star Wars Thread

Star Wars Visions Volume 2... much, much, better than Volume 1 imo. I watched all the Shorts over the past few days and really loved the majority of them, which I don't think I could say about any in the first season. Beautiful visuals and good story-telling. A couple in particular were just stunning to look at. Only negative is that, once again, each Short tends to retread the same ground. Eight of the nine shorts in Volume 1 were Jedi v Sith stories, and whilst it's definitely not as samey as that this time around, it's similar. Hoping volume 3 keeps the focus on telling stories from around the world. Been great to see various cultures interpretation on Star Wars themes. Please, no more Jedi/Sith though...
  14. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Thanks, for some reason I read it as they're waiting for stock to fulfil my order
  15. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Speaking of the Nintendo Store, does anyone else have Status: Awaiting Shipment for the Special Edition? That doesn't sound promising lol
  16. Hollow Knight: Silksong

Team Cherry are geniuses. All done by a team of 3 people. Personally, this got me more excited than anything in the Nintendo Direct. The animation and movement looks fantastic. Seems to only be for Switch and PC for now but I imagine other consoles will follow like before.
  17. Hollow Knight: Silksong

It's not releasing in the next month and a half?? I am shocked.
  18. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Shrines have been in 1 game. And they weren't in any of the footage shown so far.
  19. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Oh good. Now I know that shrines are still a thing, even though Nintendo have made no reference whatsoever to them. WTF?? It was all going great until this page.
  20. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Tomorrow at 1pm from what I've read.
  21. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Two days until a guaranteed masterpiece. I haven't been this excited for a game since... well, BOTW.
