It's funny how much of an effect it's had on the rest of the league They Pens were absolutely hopeless last night, Malkin seems to enjoy taking games off nowadays. He's payed exactly the same as Sid but just doesn't produce it often enough. When he's on his game there isn't a better player in the league but he's just not consistent enough. A couple of years back when Sid missed a third of the season injured, Geno stepped it up and became a superstar, really need to see that again. Hope Sid is back soon, the Pens seem unable to function properly without him.
  2. The UK isn't a country. It's a country of countries.
  3. If you do a lot of texting, get a Blackberry. They're hands down the best for that, I can compose entire novels in minutes on the keypad. Unfortunately they still have a stigma of being only for business; which is bollocks. I owned an iPhone for over a year too and it's only better since, the App store is excellent but i'm personally not a massive touch screen fan. My contract is up in the summer, so for me it will probably be between the next Blackberry entry in the Bold line or the newest incarnation of the iPhone.
  4. Having thought about it, and looked through iTunes, i'm surprised at how many of my favourite songs are the first track of the album. Randomly going by the last 3 albums played on iTunes:
  5. You're dead inside
  6. Don't know if it's just luck but i've never had that problem at the cinema. I've heard the off phone going off but never anything as bad as that.
  7. Have to applaud the effort gone into making the thread. That's all though.
  8. I'm pretty sure Nickelback aren't unheard. In fact some would say they've heard too often. Their pretty generic really.
  9. I'd be surprised if HMV up here closed, it's always busy and it's really the only place to buy DVDs on the high street. Many people are obviously still oblivious to this whole online shopping thing.
  10. It's been a good run kids.

I've been looking forward to this for a while. Glau and Lyons are pretty great actors but the whole Vinny Jones as the evil badass looks a bit cheesy on the outside but It might work out alright. I hope it does ok, I need a new superhero drama to replace Smallville next year. The theme tune sounds awesome, especially as it seems to be a dying art these days. I don't give a fuck about an extra 27 seconds of screen time, I want my title music, not some amateurish title card.
  12. iPod Touch 64GB. Otterbox Defender case for iPod Touch. This case is immense. I use an Otterbox on my Blackberry as well and they're hands down the best cases available. It also helped that they gave me it for nothing! plus free shipping from Colorado.
  13. Happy Birthday dear boy!
  14. I lulz at people in thread actually writing off the film because of his fucking hair. Hah..
  15. I've been completely the opposite. Not saying I was glad to o back to work (duh) but I was glad to get moving with the next year and achieve the things I've set out too do. Quite surprising for me really as I used to love the festive time and dread when it finished, also because i'm normally pessimistic but meh, times change.
  16. I can barely remember what I have and haven't seen this year, but i'll give it a go. She's Out Of My League Loved this film for a couple of reasons. First off it's the classic looser kid get's the stunningly beautiful girl. Secondly, it's set in Pittsburgh and makes extensive use of shots at Mellon Arena, even showing off a Penguins game. Although the story isn't anything new, it's done in a way that didn't feel cliched or like it had be done before. Alice Eve is seriously stunning, words can't describe just how amazing she looks. They're quite a few LUL moments and the supporting cast doesn't disappoint either. Robin Hood For a fairly famous legend, Robin Hood has been very poorly recreated on screen. The last film was far too full of cheese and of course an American Robin Hood. I'm not a massive Russell Crowe fan but I when I heard about his casting, I was totally in favour of it. I thought his gruff, dour demeanour would lend itself very well to a serious telling of this story. I was a bit disappointed to hear that Sienna Miller was no longer playing Marion. Let's face it, she is only there for some eye candy. Cate Blanchett did a great job and I suppose her and Crowe do make a more believable couple. I thought the film was well done, i was a bit unsure at the start with the whole impostor storyline but it worked well in the end and the final battle scene was something to behold. Kick-Ass Absolutely adore this film, definitely my favourite of the year. I loved the humour in it and had to stop for a second when Hit Girl utters an obscenity i've never once heard from a girl her age before in a motion picture. It didn't take itself too seriously at points but wasn't afraid to pull at the heart strings when needed. The casting is fucking awesome and there isn't one weak point in it. Saw 3D I think the storyline worked really well and wrapped up loose plots i'd been wondering about from previous films. The whole 3D thing was a bit gimmicky in my view and was only used because they didn't want to call it Saw 7. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 As most have said, definitely the right idea to split up the book into two parts. This film was a vast departure from any other with all the kids being away from Hogwarts and a lot of time just spent with Harry and Hermione. The film does suffer from the fact that it's part 1 and all the good shit was always going to be left for the second part. There isn't too much action in it which allows us to see the actors getting too show a little more than they've probably done in the past. It did it's job well and has me dying to see the final instalment.

  18. Yass, great start to 2011. It wasn't the best game but at least Samaras isn't completely useless. On another not, Delighted that we've signed Freddie but i'm not sure how I feel about him wearing No 7. They'll only ever be on Swedish No 7 for me.

Haha yeah. Only one year has teams outside the Eastern conference featured in the Winter Classic and those two teams both play in pretty cold climates (Chicago vs Detroit, 2009). The NHL seem to realise there's more to this than just a game outside, it's all about the rivalries of the two teams and the passion that hatred generates. The Pens vs Caps for the Winter Classic was well speculated before it was announced and judging by the success, I think the NHL will continue in that vain. It's not really going to be fair if it's continually Eastern conference sides but geographically they offer the best conditions to play in. Obviously they could do East vs West, but they're aren't too many bitter rivalries between two sides that rarely play each other. The one that springs too mind would be Pens vs Red Wings. A much I personally would love that, I can't see it as both sides have already played in them. The Canadian teams would probably be the best idea for the West but there's already one happening in February, called the Heritage. Whatever happens, I can't wait until they announce who'll be in the next one.
  20. Towards the end of last year I started loosing weight and getting fit, lost just over 2 stone before taking a short break over the festive period. It restarts tomorrow and i'm looking forward to getting down to where I want to be and just having the willpower to keep it going. I've a North American holiday planned for November, still need to work out exactly where I'm going though. I might try and fit in a smaller break during the summer or possible April/May time. I've got a few gigs so far, Angels & Airwaves in February and The Script in March. I've got the chance to go to TITP, so might do that. That's all I've actually got planned, the rest i'll just roll with.

Disappointed the Pens didn't win but it was an awesome spectacle to watch. Wonder whose turn it will be next year.

That looked seriously painful the wack he took, looks like he'll be out a while too. Ben Lovejoy took a similar hit under the eye a couple of weeks back against the Panthers and it looked similarly nasty. I think i'll fill in the final hour before the Winter Classic with some Rangers vs Lightning.
