Cloud saves locked behind a pay-wall... that’s so Nintendo!

Not bothering with this. Their online games aren’t good enough to keep me off my PS4 anyhow.

The Switch is just a single-player console for my commute... even though I’ve not actually brought it on my commute for a little while now.

Aren't cloud saves locked behind a paywall on PSN?

“There are currently no plans to bring classic games together under the Virtual Console banner as has been done on other Nintendo systems,” a Nintendo spokesperson told Kotaku in an e-mail late last night.

Because they're adding them on their online subscription service.

Why NES games? Just skip the nes.

No interest at all in classic nes games

    Other people do?

It takes time to convert and test the games too, don't forget that. I have no doubt we'll be seeing the other consoles added as time passes

This is what we've been asking for, a Netflix style subscription to play classic games (with added features) and now we've got it, we're still complaining because they're not dumping everything in one go with no care for quality control.

I'm not holding my breath for any new games or reveales. Anything new will be an added bonus.

In my eyes, this will be more of a promotion for Detective Pikachu and for Aces. Probably some Kirby too.

I mean that's smart, but there hasn't ever been a Direct without new games or reveals. You forget what a Direct is for

I've been wanting a Surface Pro for years and putting it off because my laptop isn't that old but now I'm noticing slowdown and got some contracting money coming my way soon (ignoring the fact a lot of that is going on dental work :/) so might get one later in the year.

    They're so pretty.

Yeah it's really cool, a lot better than I was expecting. It's heavier than an iPad which is expected but I can do what I need to without breaking my back carrying it about

Got it all set up with what I need to run the site on the go

Honestly its probably something kids will love but the more of this kind of stuff that appears the more it feels like Nintendo is drifting back towards the Wii style of gaming and that is something I really don't want.

Had a year of hardcore games, just had a direct with lots of core games.

We get one thing to build diversity.

    Yeah they're definitely going back.

    Come on.

The Direct was worldwide and since Japan already has the game it probably wasn't worth showing in this setting.

    That's my thoughts at least.

Japan only had part 1 and the initial reveal of this came from Japan with worldwide an hour later.

It wasn't in the Direct because it's 3DS and the Direct was all Switch

I completely get that. I don’t begrudge them alongside new games. But this attitude also sticks two fingers to the big Nintendo fans who even bought the disastrous wii u 🤣

This was just a Direct Mini, we had a great year last year and we only have up to May and even then not everything.

    Patience

Don’t agree. We don’t know whatbwe’ll Be playing first half of this year so was expecting some nice surprises. Whatbregail gsmes do we get? Bayonettas (ports), payday (port), Kirby (fine), donkey Kong (port), dark souls (port) TWEWY (port), Hyrule warriors (port) mario tennis (great). Feels incredibly underwhelming. For me. I’ll be buying tennis if it’s good, and maybe TWEWY.

Maybe it’s a good selection of games. But not ignore you owner lol half of them on ds/wii u. There’s nothing there. There’s no big game for the first half of the year.

So a huge disappointment. Throw in the fact we all thought we’d be playing virtual console games, never mind still not hearing about it; no updates to the os since launch, still no word on the onmine service....

    It was pretty awful really.

Do note that the Switch has outsold the Wii U and many Switch owners will not have played these games.

Yeah I was really surprised by The Orville. I made the assumption that Orville would just be a bunch of dick and fart jokes on a space ship but it turns out its a decent show. It even feels like TNG at times.

Yeah same. I'm really enjoying it. It's tackling issues but it's more light hearted. It's enjoyable for sure
