  1. This game was one of the first games I bought with my own money for my own GameCube after The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker. 'T was a simpler time where I had decided to sell my PS2 and its games, and switch to Nintendo consoles and games only (the big reason at the time was because of Mario Party) Knowing very little about Nintendo's history and franchises, I picked up this game half price near the end of the Cube's lifecycle, thinking it could be interesting. I ended up diving deep into this (just like with The Windwaker), with multiple playthroughs and discovering as much secrets as I could. In a time where I didn't really go on the internet if I got stuck on a game, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door was one of the greatest adventures of my life. With each chapter having it's unique charm and theme, Bowser's silly escapades, and Peach's philosophical and futuristic storyline, I had to shed a tear seeing Nintendo bringing back one of my beloved games. I still own the original.
  2. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

It seems that my earlier assumption/speculation of the Zonai being related to the Twili could be off. It would appear to be some totally different kind of dragon people. Can't wait to learn more. Anyone else hoping they're hiding the Picori in this game? They wanted to put them in BotW, but it didn't came to be.
  3. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Maaaan, I am obsessed with what they're holding back story-wise. The similarities between story surrounding the Zonai seems to have many parallels with that of the Interlopers that become the Twili. Couple that with the following analysis of the timeline, and I'm getting my hopes up for a Midna return
  4. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

You guys seen these videos? Ever since the first trailer for TotK and learning more about Zonai iconography, I couldn't help but see the parallels between the Twili & Zonai. Also couldn't understand why Youtubers like Zeltik haven't delved into this topic yet, or maybe I missed it. Especially the sound/voices that play near the end of the last trailer when the logo is shown sounds so very much like Twili speech, and the way the Master Sword is shown in the logo also has that quintessential Twili style. I see a lot of similarities like they show in the videos, and I do wonder if we will see Midna again. Interesting to see your thoughts on this.
  5. This will be the central hub for the NE:LTG series. Time to get sticky! I will post the names of the games we discussed and their respective threads. This comes in handy when you'd like to talk about one of the games from the series but forgot about it. #01 - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54086 #02 - Super Mario Sunshine http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54119 #03 - Chrono Trigger http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54141 #04 - Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54171 #05 - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54219 #06 - Resident Evil 4 http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54256 #07 - Metroid: Other M http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54281 #08 - Red Steel http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54299 #09 - Super Mario Land: 6 Golden Coins http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54314 #10 - Wii Sports http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54345 #11 - Advance Wars http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54404 #12 - Rhythm Paradise DS http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54440 #13 - Super Smash Bros. 6. Metroid Dread

Bought the Collector's Edition for this one, and I am not dissapointed, but man....I gotta say.... Mercury Steam needs a better composer on their team. It's just .... atmospheric, which is fine, but after Hollow Knight....god damn. Can't go back after Chrisopher Larkin's angel jizz in my ear. My hopes are high for the OST of Metroid Prime 4.
  7. Smash Bros Switch Roster Prediction Competition

Well I'll be a son of a bitch. Haven't been frequenting this forum for quite some time now, but apparently one can still win at life even whilst one isn't looking. To me, the greatest crime is still no Paper Mario. Seems like a no-brainer for some kind of alt-G&W. Also, Layton definitely deserves a spot given his vast library on the DS and getting mothers to buy into the dual-screen hype. Still love you guys
  8. Smash Bros Switch Roster Prediction Competition

Can't believe I'm still on top of a list I don't even own yet I'm waiting for the Ultimate Ultimate edition for the Switch Pro Deluxe U
  9. Paper Mario: The Origami King

I kind of wish they would add some more Toads and flesh the character out a bit more.
  10. Paper Mario: The Origami King

Paper Mario, anyone? As someone who counts Paper Mario 64 & Paper Mario & The Thousand Year Door among one of the finest games I've ever played, it has been with pain in my heart seeing the Paper Mario series slowly but surely decline into something that is not in line with those games. Don't get me wrong, I welcome new changes to a franchise as much as the next guy, but I suppose the nostalgia drug taints my view of the development of this series. If I had to explain exactly what rubs me the wrong way about Paper Mario now, I'd have to say it's the sudden and near complete elimination of creative design specifically made for the franchise. Super Paper Mario for the Wii might not have had the excellent RPG style game play of its predecessors, but at least the developers went nuts in terms of creativity. Paper Mario: Sticker Star that followed was slapped by Miyamoto's hand of bland, and to this day it's probably the only game I've ever played which I absolutely loathe for this reason. Going from this: to this: Was a direct assault on my love for the franchise: the crazy world building and characters designs. Sticker Star was made even worse because it was also stripped of a FUN battle system and funny dialogue, so I can safely say this was my biggest disappointment ever in my gaming history. Now admittedly, I have yet to play Colour Splash, which I hear at least brought the dialogue back to Paper Mario standards, but still misses that creativity of the first 3 games in terms of characters and world building, so while that still saddens me it appears baby steps were made towards what made the franchise so strong to begin with. The Origami King seems to be following this trend of baby steps towards the original strength of the series, by bringing back bigger worlds and companions again. But alas, they must remain devoid of anything creative and let's keep piling on the GODDAMN TOADS everywhere. If there's anything that just screams bland and boring it's hundreds of toads with some different colours. Fucking toads man, fucking toads. More than anything it seems we get a sense of what characters are being considered to be the core of Mario and what characters are not. Perhaps this is because Nintendo wants to make the Mario brand as big as Mickey Mouse, and so they want a kind of band of recognizable characters throughout all of his adventures, yet Odyssey had all sorts of new and creative designs, so why in the world can't the Paper Mario games take place in faraway lands anymore with for example a big fat chameleon nerd, a wrestling chicken or a sassy Lady Bow? I will eventually get around to Colour Splash, and though I am ranting a bit here, the trailer looked fun and I'd love to play it, fully realizing that the height of Mario RPGs in Mario&Luigi: Superstar Saga and Paper Mario & The Thousand Year Door might never be reached again.
  11. Having been a member of this forum for a long time, I sometimes forget most of you guys speak with a proper Bri'ish accent.
  12. Smash Bros Switch Roster Prediction Competition

Damn, this is still going. And I still haven't bought this Alexandria Library of video game history. I'm losing my Nintendo touch, but I'm deep into some indie games now. Namely Shovel Knight's expansions. One game at a time is the way to go with my income right now
  13. I'm wondering what the people of Nyurp think of the price tag of this bad boy. Is it really worth 50 euros? I'm getting it for my birthday so not paying top euro for it, but initially I wanted to wait until it dropped to 30 or so. Though I'm a sucker for all things Zelda, financially I just couldn't justify this purchase.
  14. Child of Light and Valiant Hearts coming to Switch

I finished Valiant Hearts yesterday, and the game got me into documentaries about WW1 again. Such a crazy war with a lot of amazing footage still surviving from those days. The more I played this game the more I got sucked in to the story. Gameplay is nothing to write home about, but that is okay since it's more about the visual experience and the narrative of course. I wonder if we'll see more games using the UbiArt-engine in the future.
  15. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (Wii U)

This will probably be one of those games where I came for the game and stayed for the beautiful music of Michiru Yamane. The music of Igavanias were at least 60% of the enjoyment for me. Yamane-san is a sound magician!
  16. Nintendo at E3 2019

New Smash character, New Zelda, Animal Crossing, Metroid, Luigi's Mansion 3 ... it would pale in comparison to the possible tidbit of info on Hollow Knight: Silk Song.
  17. Hollow Knight

Just watched the Hollowknight: Silk Song again. I haven't been this excited for a game in a long time. Also, this franchise is definitely my favourite Metroidvania game next to Order of Eclessia!
  18. Hollow Knight

Does the proper ending have something to do with that flower side quest? I suppose I'd have to look at some guide, don't I. That White Castle DLC is a motherfucking bitch by the way 😅
  19. Hollow Knight

See, I think I did not get the proper ending. I had no idea there even were different endings. I'm currently going through the Grimm DLC and also finally got all the essence so I can discover the White Castle. I'm almost ready to leave the world of Hollow Knight and focus more on Shovel Knight. I'm also thinking of buying Celeste.
  20. Hollow Knight

So I went for the Hollow Knight and beat the game at 86%. Then I went to look at some of Superforge's videos and marveled at the deep lore. And then I saw all these extra areas (mostly DLC) which I hadn't found yet so I'm diving right back in. I knew the DLC was all in the game, but I don't really know how to get to it all. I think I have mostly been collecting dream essence, but still not enough to clear it, and I hadn't the foggiest how to kick off the Troupe quest, ... My God, Team Cherry is amazing! The music in this game is something else entirely!
  21. Hollow Knight

I love that feel of when you think you are stuck and you discover a whole new area. There's no end to this incredible underground world!
  22. Hollow Knight

I'm in awe with this game! With me growing older and getting more responsibilities and following other interests, gaming time becomes scarce, so whenever a game comes along and grabs my attention even when I'm not playing, I know it's something special. I have all these things to do, but somehow I keep want to go deeper and deeper into Hollow's Nest and immerse myself in the art style and sound design! It's amazing this only cost me 10 euros. I think I may be 10 hours or so away from finishing up, but since the DLC is incorporated into the game there are still many more challenges ahead.
  23. Switch eShop Thread

Still one of the greatest single-player experiences I've ever had. They captured lightning in a bottle!
  24. Cadence of Hyrule

Jesus Christ, Ronnie. I'm just here casually looking for some Zelda related thread on N-Europe after a long hiatus, and now I have to deal with months of fantasizing about said opportunities. It's all good son, I really hope they do this!
  25. Michael Jackson

Man, this documentary along with the Oprah interview really did a number on me. MJ's live was a living paradox. He inspired millions, seemed like a caring and gentle soul, but due to his own upbringing he likely treasured the innocent and the carefree something he may not have had much of in his own life. I always viewed MJ as indeed an eccentric, gentle man with a love for children because he himself had never had a childhood. Sure he may have held slumber parties in Neverland and yes, maybe some cuddling or hand holding happened, but I could never imagine MJ actually getting off on sexual acts. I thought him to be more of a platonic lover, perhaps even towards children, which is weird still, but knowing his background it's understandable why he surrounded himself with children the way he did. That notwithstanding, these men, their stories and what their families went through seem genuine to me. Especially the psychological and sexual confusion where they had to square the abuse with their love for Michael, something that apparently took them a long time. I agree that it's good to be skeptical, but seeing their lives and families in turmoil due to their experiences with MJ does not seem like something one would make up. To me it's a tragic story of a damaged soul who passed on his damage to others, whilst still inspiring millions in the public sphere with his amazing performances and lyrics. I still adore his music, but even without the story presented in the documentary, MJ's life has a kind of tragic undertone reflected in his god-like status and physical change. I guess I need to start watching some rebuttal videos now...
