  1. Promoted what they have, something about the Plucky Squire, Stickman thing, the Mr Driller game they have, cricket through the ages!, Omnibus (a 32-bit bus thing). a dodge-the-buzzsaw game called Disc Room, crash dummies... iRobot? No, The Talos Principle II, some stupidity called Baby Steps. And probably plenty more besides that sailed right over my head. Please don't ask for timestamps.
  2. https://nintendoeverything.com/nintendo-reportedly-skipping-e3-2023-entirely/ And so it begins. Interesting to read that all three are apparently digging their heels in—looks like it's going to be a long way back for E3. In other news, last night there was a Square-Enix livestream for Theatrhythm Final Bar Line which you can still catch up with and of course last week we had the SteamWorld Telegraph: Special Broadcast where Build was shown off. Some dates of note: GDC 20-24th March Summer Game Fest 8th June - ?? E3 13th-16th June Gamescom 23-27th August TGS 21-24th September
  3. Streets of Rage 4

Yeah, but, it's no coinkydink they waited until after SoR4 came out to add Rival Turf! to NSO.
  4. For avid followers of this thread, it's a bit mental in the context of what's been recently shared in this thread. Otherwise: distinctly average fayre for those in the know who'd care to check a look.
  5. Encountered, failed to scout, beat my first metal slime. Despite it jumping everyone a level, I went on to lose to the dragon boss here anyway. Reset to last save, spent talent points, made sure they all have an accessory and thought I might as well Zoom over to the Mauloseum to turn in these mini medals... which has yielded a level 10 metal slime. Yes, please.
  6. Soon you'll be scouting monsters over level 10 and the guy will set up shop in Rosehill Tower (which you can always walk to if you prefer not to Zoom...). As for them starting at level 1, that's put me off synthesising for the time being until I get far enough for a good grinding spot. I reckon the game is set up in such a way that you can get through at least everything I've seen with directly scouted monsters.
  7. If the tournament MCs aren't doing it for you then I wouldn't advise against it. I still regret persevering with DKC: Returns rather than getting shot of it in CeX when the rate was high.
  8. A packed half an hour of: demos and updates new games news and release dates
  9. General Switch Discussion

Great question and one I've looked into. They've said 3 is standalone with only thematic consistency, far as I remember. However I price check 2 from time to time rather than jump straight to 3.
  10. General Movie Thread

Also saw Godzilla Minus One at the weekend and thought it was really good. The above endorsement made it a priority. Probably by default the best thing I've seen all year because cinema has been fairly cack as far as I mind. Easily recommend it if there's a showing near you.
  11. Thanks for the link. I'll keep it in my back pocket for later because, for the moment, min-maxing these monsters isn't something I need to concern myself with. Maybe if I want to get a good number of wins in the online. Got a PB of 2/30 earlier. Yes! A Cactiball! I need one too for the same purpose. Uh oh. *braces for you to have blazed past me within an afternoon* This is the one I got in the demo. Called it Odo. I feel like I made the same choices in the full game and got something else. Oh. Perhaps you should have tried the demo. It gets you into the third area and left me wanting more. I wasn't best pleased at having to replay the opening in the full game even when you transfer your save data. Any new scenes didn't seem worth it, imo. I don't have a "staff of seasons" either but I just go with it when the seasons change. The visual change, the monster rotation and newly available places keeps it fresh. As you say, you're still rocking your original four so just scout what you can while looking around. Especially now I've seen monsters repeating I'm much less worried about missing anything from earlier areas. Not that I did—bar big boys like the Cyclops. Wish you got exp for scouting or at least beating other monsters in a battle that ends with something scouted. It's satisfying to revisit previous areas and scout monsters 100% at the first attempt. It's bugged me more when the changing of the seasons cuts you off from a nook, but since you can Zoom back anytime it's nothing to stress about. Thing that's keeping me awake at night is in a circle area, I couldn't seem to fill out the map entirely. It's taken the most time yet, but I've got through the Circle of Fortitude, Middle Echelon and Fort Nox and it seems I'm still not done with this place. Was so glad to reach new fast travel points here. All of a sudden I was feeling that old-skool thrill of pushing out gradually into uncharted territory.
  12. Switch eShop Thread

If you find yourself at a loose end over the festive period, there's 3,000+ games on sale on the eShop to weed through.
  13. Comic Book Discussion Issue #2

I'm going to be breaking glass in case of emergency on Watchmen because I'm well behind with the yearly reading quota and need something quick and dirty to get through.
  14. Interesting. That's good to know because I scouted a bigger one and compared its stats to another I have and they were identical. Will have to see if there's a screen that gives a more in-depth look. I'm into the Circle of Fortitude, Middle Echelon now which is feeling a bit tougher. Not sure if it's a natural increase (looks like the biggest area so far) or because I've swapped the party around resulting in levels and ranks being all over the place. Along the way, three more NPCs have wanted to synthesise but I don't think I've even seen the monsters they recommend pairing up so I'm trying to keep them in mind for later. In an attempt to upgrade my party and get it on the road to looking badass, I made a Cauldragon but it's dead weight for the time being as it needs to catch up in levels. Also lugging around a D rank (!) Night Sneaker that's well behind. Only monster left in the party from the beginning's the Platypunk it started me off with. My starter in the demo was a Mud Mannequin but it's yet to make it out of the paddock in the full game. Got a Spiny Slime (off a 15% scout chance!) and another later offered to join so it'll be synthesis fodder. I'm seeing Slime Knights and want one of them too. Was thinking there was no need for healing to be free, then being able to pop back into the Rosehill Towerdis for an immediate full heal made it that much quicker to get back at trying to get a foothold in this new location. It's so handy that you can Zoom between areas and not just within them. Such a pity about Zangiel. We could have ushered in an era of dominance! Can't believe I'm supposed to care about Toilen. The less I see of him the better.
  15. Another Code Recollection (19th January 2024)

Can relate. Have had this feeling with other demos where I just want a taste of the action to see what the gameplay's all about.
  16. General Switch Discussion

Nice choice. I've had an SN30 pro+ for several years now. It feels good with the retro games and comes in handy for multiplayer since the joysticks don't drift like on the joy-cons.
  17. That was your putt? Well judged—nicely done. Could see it was heading for the cup as soon as it curved. I only unblock social media embeds when it looks like someone has posted news without comment.
  18. Thanks for the games. Love Mario Kart 64 but it's a tough one to drop back into cold nowadays.

This any use? I consider getting it now and again.
  21. Tetris 99 -- Available Today

Got it too. One of my favourites in all seriousness! Liked the blocks and the nice relaxed vibe of it. Actually found myself wishing the backdrop was gameplay!
  22. If tennis makes it onto the slate, a short game'll do. Don't want the rest of you throwing the match just to get it over with.
  23. SaGa Emerald Beyond

I have Frontier. It's different from the typical FF or DQ kind of RPG you might be expecting. Definitely recommend reading up on them as much as possible to make sure you go in with an open mind.
