  1. Always loved when it through up a track with a jump on a right-angled corner. Most of the CPU, if not all, couldn't handle it and it'd pretty much guarantee you top the podium.
  2. Princess Peach Showtime (March 22 2024)

Joy-cons: check. Pre-order swag: check. Next off the production line should be amiibo, then.
  3. Air Boarder 64 - All N64 Games

Good shouts. All games I skipped so likely right enough. Well, I later got Snap unboxed but you know what I mean.
  4. Air Boarder 64 - All N64 Games

Hard to think of anything beyond Majora's Mask that didn't follow that template. I always found it disconcerting the way cardboard insert worked—it was like Game Boy boxing except upside down. Ropey. Wished those carts were fully insulated like SNES games.
  5. Football Season 2023/24

Silver lining that they kept the news under their hats until Gerrard extended his contract at Al-Ettifaq. It's been said that Alonso has some sort of gentleman's agreement with Leverkusen that they won't stand in his way if a big club comes in. Likely as good an option as any but I don't want to jump ahead and think about what comes next yet. Could just as easy be LFC back in the doldrums.
  6. Football Season 2023/24

This is the what I heard the audio of on the radio. Apparently the higher-ups have known since November. Klopp hugs all round.
  7. Football Season 2023/24

Jurgen says he's leaving at the end of the season.
  8. Wonder what sort of hodgepodge Mute City I + Mute City II makes if it isn't Mute City III. The X Cup must still be on their minds.
  9. Air Boarder 64 - All N64 Games

Lylat Wars was, as far as I remember, the first Nintendo game we got that was fullscreen. I think until that point only Rare was putting out N64 games that were properly optimised for PAL tellies.
  10. Apparently if the F-Zero 99 mode is glitching out, you can vote for ??? to have the chance of competing on a secret track, which is a mashup of two existing tracks. Haven't been on the game myself but I still wanted to know what these secret tracks are all about.
  11. N-E Mario Kart 8 DX Get Together

Thanks for the races. Getting the winter version of the AC track was a treat.
  12. Palworld

    Super effective advertising.
  13. Palworld

To Be The Very Best Like No One Ever Was™.
  14. Good to see they had something lined up for the end of the winter races. My ask would be that they put the event/GP schedule online, even just the next 24-hour period. Or add it in the NSO phone app because I did find it useful for Splatoon 3 to pick and choose when I'd go on it.
  15. Palworld

Fine statement. Level heads have prevailed from within the company, at least. Will their fanbase follow this lead? Chance'd be a fine thing.
  16. Haha, more like sextuple dipping. You need the GBA carts in your Ace Attorney shrine.
  17. Splatoon 3 (9th September 2022)

Must admit I'm not too bothered about this. Chalk it up to a combination of being done with the game, not being into (paid) DLC and a lack of intrigue since it was revealed to be some sort of roguelike—but they are welcome to convince me otherwise. Hope it delivers for everyone still on Splatoon 3. Is it this time of year again.
  18. 3DS Console Discussion

Would be good to give it a send-off. Not sure what online games I have except MK7 and Fantasy Life.
  19. I'd be hesitant to doubledip. Thanks for the endorsement, though. It's the sort of kick up the jacksy I need to get me back on it to see what transpires after that malarky with the pink haired bird.
  20. I got the Phoenix Wright trilogy off the 3DS eShop years ago but never got far into the first one. I enjoy a point-and-click as much as the next person, but I dunno, for whatever reason PW didn't capture me. Would prefer to give it another go some time before potentially continuing with the series. Remember there being a huge buzz around these games back in the DS days.
  21. Had the first one or two of these on PC. Thought they were pretty substandard and demonstrated the style over substance divide introduced by Playstation. At least I could say on the playground I'd first-hand experience of gunning down tigers and whatever. Then one time at a friends house, he put on 3 and wanted me to do a swimming bit. Maybe on keyboard but there was no chance on the Playstation controller. It wasn't long before we were back on WCW vs nWo on the N64. Saying that, I'd probably have one or both of the new Tomb Raider games if they were on Switch and I'm keeping this rerelease in mind for an eventual pickup. Always nice to see a familiar name/ avatar!
  22. Ys X: Nordics (Switch/PS4/PS5)

Informed and favourable. It mentions Skies of Arcadia, when I got that far in the demo, the ships reminded me of it too but also Etrian Odyssey III, despite both these being turnbased.
  23. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa Of DANA

Oh, nice. Now you bring it up, I remember seeing that mentioned on RPGamer or somewhere last year. You read it? I'll definitely want to give it a look sometime after I get through the game first. Last thing I did was the Ghost Ship. Got gunman Hummel in the active party for a while now. Felt like the conversation at the end of it with Captain Reed lasted longer than going through the ship. Still, a location like that is always welcome. Then, back at camp we got the ability to warp. Which is a bit weird since I've been able to warp around the whole time so I'll have to see what the new implications are exactly. Previously in this chapter, I spent a fair bit of time bumbling around with Dana on her tod. Apparently a door was ripe for the opening in her underground area but for whatever reason when I went to it nothing happened. I looped around the available rooms several times, checking for a switch or something to interact with, then headed outside to see if there were any sidequest icons I could hit to up her virtue and potentially open that door. All to no avail. Turns out (and speaking of warping), you just have to come at it from the "most recent" warp point. Which makes sense once you see it because her objectives are listed at each warp point on her map! Not that getting through that door was required to progress the story, I'm just enjoying the act of playing the game so I'm happy to go wherever there is something to get on with. Next up, there's two or three new sidequests in the camp and I only covered like ~83.3% of the Ghost Ship so I want to see if I can board it again.
  24. Switch eShop Thread

Did not think Eastward was going to be an action RPG with a turnbased Dragon Quest game inside it. Seems like a good game, even if it's a bit slow going, at least to begin with. Interesting style, atmosphere and music. Not looking for this sort of thing right now but will be keeping it in mind so that's somewhat job done as far as the game trial goes. Reminded me there's a few other eShop games like Jack Move and ANNO: Mutationem I'd like to get, too. Just wish it had d-pad movement.
