  1. The Sports Thread

It's so unfortunate as well for him seeing as it's Nadal he's playing. Nadal is the very hardest player to actually *beat*, he never gives up whatever the score or situation. But hopefully he can continue and win, I'd love to see how he fares against an inform Federer.
  2. The Sports Thread

Thought I'd give this thread a bump. In the US Open, Federer beat Djokovic impressively today, 6-3 5-7 7-5 6-2. He's coming back towards his best and he'll play either Nadal or Murray in the Final. Rain prevented Murray's match from being completed, but Murray was leading 6-2 7-6 2-3. It's unfortunate as Murray's momentum will completely fizzle out. They'll continue tomorrow at 9.30pm.
  3. Other Languages..?

He's talking about masculine/feminine words, which we don't have in English.
  4. Other Languages..?

Mon Francais est assez bon. I can speak a bit of Irish as well, but not as much as I can French. Is teanga maith é an Gaeilge! (I think I said that right). I'd really like to learn German and Italian, maybe Spanish as well. Even to the level of my French. I doubt I ever will though.
  5. Whats Your Town Famous For?

Cork http://www.corkcity.ie/ Youtube didn't suggest anything.
  6. The University Thread 08/09

We have no tuition fees in Ireland either, just a registration fee of about €900. However if your parents income combined with your income is less than €100,000(I think) a year you get a grant for that. I'm staying at home for uni so no loan for me.
  7. The London Underground

From when I've been in London the Underground's been pretty good. It's quick and easy to get where you want. However, in a way I prefer buses. It's nice to see where you are going and see what a city looks like. London's a great city to just observe, and sometimes the Underground can be a bit lifeless.
  8. Beijing Olymics 2008

I'm watching the tennis now, Murray is a set down after having been 4-2 and 5-3 up, and having a few set points. His opponent, Lu(I think), is playing unbelievably. Federer won easily 6-4 6-2 earlier, but Nadal only scraped through.
  9. How was your day?

I came back from Kerry yesterday, and I've done nothing since. Aside from watching the Olympics and being on t'internet that is.
  10. The War/Panic Thread

For the time being anyway, Ireland is a "neutral" country so we wouldn't be involved in any form of national service. However if some sort of nuclear war did happen we'd still be f*cked, being so close to the UK.
  11. Post Your Purchases

In town yesterday, got this: They're actually pretty good, I prefer some of the other songs on the album to the released ones.
  12. Beijing Olymics 2008

Thanks. Tracey Hallam just won in the women's badminton. The match point lasted for ages, her opponent even dived to get a shot back early on in it!
  13. Beijing Olymics 2008

I agree that maybe it shouldn't be held in China, but it's still the Olympics and a great event to watch. I was just watching the badminton there and Smith I think it was, came back pretty impressively. He looked lethargic in the first game but all of a sudden turned it around. I'd never normally watch badminton but the Olympics is a great place to watch other sports. What time does the tennis start our time? Will the BBC be showing it?
  14. Zelda WW vs Zelda TP vs OoT

I have to agree with the last two posts. Reading this just reminds me how great WW was! I want to go play it now...
  15. How was your day?

Well....Well... Next year when I'm at university I'll be finishing around then..I think... ---------- Ugh, today I spent 2 hours on buses to get to a tennis match, which I lost in under an hour. Then I had to wait a few hours for a lift home. There was nobody there either so it was excruciatingly boring, especially without any music.
  16. First film you saw at the cinema?

I can't remember what I saw, but I remember the day... I lived in my old house at the time, so it would have been in about 1993 or 1994, when I was 3/4. I was dragged along by my aunts with a cousin or something, and was really nervous beforehand. Afterwards I didn't want to leave!
  17. Xbox 360 Console Discussion

    I've added you.
  18. How was your day?

Can I be really annoying and say I've been off since the start of June? But really, I need a job too.
  19. How was your day?

Wow you finish pretty late. I finished on like the 12th of June and that was later than normal because of exams.
  20. Animal Crossing: Lets Go to the City

Yeah, Brewster is great. I'd love to see more of him. It'd be great to give the animals more functions, like jobs in the city or something so that their not just wandering around all the time. I'd also like to see the other animals outside of work, with houses. Egging Tom Nooks mansion on Halloween anyone?
  21. Animal Crossing: Lets Go to the City

What was in the Island? I never got to visit it cause I didn't have a GBA cable.
  22. ZELDA Wii

Yeah, more sidequests and ones more like what you mentioned would be great. A natural sense of progression would also be cool. I hate to refer to a problem with TP again, but Hyrule would have felt so much more alive if say Kakariko Village gradually became more populated, or if newer shops opened in Castle Town.
  23. New Xbox 360 Dashboard

I was unsure whether or not I liked it at first. However the new screens Dante posted make it look much better and it's certainly growing on me.
  24. Animal Crossing: Lets Go to the City

Yeah, great ideas Dazzybee. I like the city aspect, but it appears to be very small. Is it just that semi-circular area? Also, all it really is is some buildings from the town moved. I'd also prefer to see Nooks changed. Are we just going to see the same expansions again and again? Hopefully they'll change them somehow. Even though there's not many changes, I think I'll still buy it. If I can bring money etc. with me from my Wild World town it would be great.
