About 6 months ago my Asus EEE PC stopped working, starts up but won't boot up windows, and makes a beeping noise. I got bored today and took it apart to see if I could do anything. I know now that the problem is the hard drive- connect another one and the computer works fine. It's also what was making the beeping noise. I'm guessing its a complete goner? Would there be any chance that I could recover the data held on it? I'm not too hopeful but there is some stuff (not backed up) that I would really like to get back. Any thoughts or info would be really appreciated!

Things seem to be working again for me! Not a moment too soon either, texts to Australia were costing me quite a bit.

I have the 8520. Its fine, I'm pretty sure it doesn't have 3G though, just EDGE. It does its job for me though, which is texts/calls, whatsapp, BBM and the odd bit of Facebook. Yeah that sounds alright. I'm with O2 prepay as well (in the Republic though), and I pay €20 (£17ish?) a month and get free texts, with €10 deducted from that for my data. I get 700MB but don't use anywhere near it.

This looks so awesome. I still need to complete Saints Row 2 though, I've been neglecting games far too much lately. If it can improve upon the second one as much as it did on the first it'll be amazing, I'm not expecting that much though.

Also in a long distance relationship (Australia), nearly died earlier when I couldn't use whatsapp! Was turning on and off my phone constantly and couldn't figure out what was wrong. Strangely though my browser worked? Everything seems to be working now anyway. I actually love my Curve, it's kind of a piece of sh!t but I've had it for over a year now and get emails, Facebook, BBM etc. on it and I think I've become a bit emotionally attached haha. @flameboy what part of Canada is your girlfriend in? I lived there for a year (until May this year) and had a two year contract, it was super easy to get out of for me, just cost like $20 or something. I was in Quebec though and they're very different in some laws (especially for some regulations and stuff) than the rest of Canada.

I really hate "epic" when people overuse it. Especially when they just say "Epic.". I used to love the word banter and say it quite a bit...especially while drunk. Like I kept saying it ALL THE TIME. I'm pretty sure it infuriated a lot of people around me haha. I also kind of introduced it to Canada while I was studying there...no-one know what I meant when I said it, but now they hate the word anyway. I only just kinda came back to the forum, and was considering changing my name to "BanterBus", before I realised I'm sick of the word. Probably for the best that I didn't change it.

I'm also getting tempted...have a sudden urge to just buy one. Unfortunately though I have no money; I just spent everything I had on a holiday. Ocarina of Time in my hands is sooo tempting though, despite the lack of anything else on it...

Did you get it? I had a look in a few places today but they didn't have it. I'll have a look in town tommorow though and they should have it somewhere there!

Did you see Serena against Azarenka yesterday? Also she was heavily injured in her match against Azarenka in Miami. Almost any other player would have pulled out in that match.

In the context of playing against men yes. However Serena is one of the best movers on the women's tour. Interestingly, Serena and Venus played a set each against chain-smoking German player who was ranked in the 200's on the men's tour. They both lost something like 6-1 or 6-2. Should be some good tennis tomorrow; I'm also looking forward to the Dementieva Serena semi. If Dementieva shows up mentally it should be a good match.

Don't get me wrong, I think Murray's a great player, and I'd like to see him win Wimbledon. It's just that the media always emphasise his positive head to head with Federer. The reality is, Federer won their only Grand Slam match, and in straight sets. He'd easily choose to lose to Murray at every non-slam event if he won their slam matches. I think Murray's way more boring than Federer. His interviews are always "blah blah he's a great player, I'll have to play best etc". He never says anything different. At least Federer isn't afraid to speak his mind. E.g. regarding Djokovic:

Thanks, he looks even better when you watch him live. He just looked several levels above his opponent, and never seemed to play the wrong shot! Also his movement and anticipation are exemplified when you see him play in person. I'm hoping he beats Roddick or Hewitt in the final. Having said that I'd like him to beat Murray in a slam again, so that the media will shut up about his record against him!

If you queue up overnight you can get Centre Court tickets. I queued from around half 4 in the afternoon the day before to get tickets to see Federer. I was around 200 in the queue, and the first 500 get Centre Court tickets. It's not bad at all, just like going camping lol. You get into the grounds at around half 9, but they don't fully open until half 10.

That was near the start of the match. The Sharapova match beforehand had gone to 3 sets so a lot of people left to get food/go to the toilet etc. and came back into the Federer match after a few games. Here's a pic of Maria:

I was at the Federer match on Wednesday. He's so amazing, and a joy to watch, especially when you're right there. Here's a few pics:

I got this yesterday, and after getting used to it I now love it! EA really put in a lot of effort into the presentation, if anyone's been to any of the Grand Slams you'd notice they've even put in the grounds perfectly! Also the amount of detail put into the players; the graphics may not be the best but they got the looks spot on. Especially Nadal, right down to the grunt and short picking! I've only played one online match so far, but apart from a couple of points it was pretty much lag free!

Has anyone heard about the homophobic comments made by Mona? Without spoiling the task, she basically said during a task that she wouldn't want her daughter to meet a gay man or something, after Howard had suggested something. Apparently the producers are still deciding whether or not they'll include it in the episode. Link

I've just started to get back into this, after not playing it for a few months. Last night I did "Catch the Wave", which was a pretty good mission! I think I've a fair bit to go, anyone have an idea of how much is left? (without spoilers )

I'm thinking of getting a new phone, the camera on my K550i has lost all it's focus and there's a load of dust after building up under the screen. Anyone have/used the Sony Ericsson K850i or the c902?

Just completed this today. It was different to how I expected, but still very good. I went for the "Love" option in the end, but I let it save over so I can't go back to pick the others. Do you not get to see Rose at all? Seems like a bit of a cop-out when she was the reason I picked that option.

It happened to me before, and eventually after just charging while using it and charging over night etc. it regained it's charge.
