Yeah, its Ghostbusters 2 for me as well. Like you said, both are amazing movies but the second is more likeable and I think has a nice feel to it.

Perhaps this is because they took into account kids that had become Ghostbuster fans in the time that had past since first movie, thanks to the cartoon and toys and stuff, so they made it more kid friendly. I also agree that Vigo is a better villain. We get to see/hear him many times before he actually materializes so he is like a looming threat, unlike Gozer who we just hear about once or twice. Theb she shows up at the end, asks the Ghostbusters are Gods, does a backlip and disapears lol

Funny enough, no, I don't remember these at all!. I remember that around the time Burger King had a pretty bizarre promotion where you got a "Ghost in a can" with their equivalent of a Happy Meal:

    nlrU2px.jpeg

These were literally a sealed can of nothing lol

I can understand why people choose GB2 (the courtroom scene for me will be the greatest and the outbreak scene too) but for me, 1984 has me in a chokehold with its quotes, charm and humour. The second one does have its moments, don't get me wrong, but I feel like 1984 has this perfect blend of comedy which both kids and adults can enjoy, supernatural horror and wit.

For me though, GB2's ending kind of ruins it. It just didn't feel much like a fight. I don't know. It was a bit underwhelming in that respect but I do love the movie anyway because it's Ghostbusters and it's nice seeing the gang together. But if I had to choose between the two, 1984 all the way. Actually, for me, having rewatched all of them, if I had to rank them...

    1984 > Afterlife > Frozen Empire > GB2 > 2016

    Oh geez...

Um... It depends? This might be a bit confusing.

OK, so the original Game Boy cartridges can connect to each other. But they absolutely cannot do so with any future games. I say "cartridges", because if you happen to have a 3DS with the Virtual Console versions, they can connect with Pokémon Bank. More on Pokémon Bank in a bit, but with the 3DS eShop closed, you can't buy these versions, or Pokémon Bank anymore. So if you don't have a 3DS with those games on it now, you're out of luck.

Now, from the GBA games onwards, you can transfer Pokémon on to future games. So you can take a Pokémon from the GBA games and transfer it to the first DS games (Diamond/Pearl), and then on to the next set (Black/White). However, be aware that these are all one-way trips. You can't transfer Pokémon from the DS back to the GBA.

Now getting a Pokémon from the DS to the 3DS is a bit more complicated. You'll need a 3DS with two apps on it, Pokémon Bank, and Pokémon Transporter. If you don't, then you can't do this, because the 3DS eShop has shut down.

If you do have them, then Pokémon Transporter is what allows you to move Pokémon from the DS games (and the Virtual Console Game Boy games) to Pokémon Bank. By the way,

I think you're thinking of Pokémon Bank here. Some people assume that because the 3DS online servers have shut down, Pokémon Bank no longer works, but this isn't true. You can still use it. Now it will probably shut down sometime in the future. Nothing lasts forever, after all. But we don't when that will be yet.

Anyway, Pokémon Bank is a way for you to store Pokémon and move them between the 3DS games. And if you want to move those Pokémon on to one of the Switch games, then you'll also need Pokémon Home.

Pokémon Home is the Switch and mobile phone application that also lets you store Pokémon and move them between the Switch games. It also has other features, like letting you trade with other people, and keeping track of your National Pokédex completion. It also lets you transfer any Pokémon you have in Bank to Home.

However, and this is important, none of the Switch games allow you to have every Pokémon in one game. You can't "catch 'em all" in any of them, which means some Pokémon can't be moved to some games.

For example, Kecleon, the Pokémon you can see in my profile picture, can't be caught in any of the Switch games except Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. So you can't move it to, say, Scarlet/Violet. The game just won't allow it.

I think that covers all the important bits. It's a lot to take in, I know. So if you have any questions, let me know, and I'll try to explain it more.

Genuinely that has made the most sense than when I read it elsewhere. Could I not get a code of Pokémon Red or Blue and download it that way or...by other means...

Then again, and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee technically Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow remade Pokémon Go style?

I must admit, I'm not familiar with any applications for this purpose, and I have to wonder if there even is one, seeing as Pokémon Home actually tracks which Pokémon you have deposited into it.

Right, I know you're gonna play through them all, but the weird thing is that to get a complete National Pokédex, you don't actually need any of the games on the Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, or the DS.

Assuming you ignore mythical Pokémon that you can only get through events (Like Jirachi), you would need X/Y, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, Sword/Shield, Pokémon GO, Legends: Arceus, Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, and Scarlet/Violet.

That's very interesting to know. So whatever I catch on any of the games, I can use them in other games, right?

I read that something is going to happen to Pokémon Home. Is it going to something?

For me though, it's more of a completion thing. Like I want to play through the games but catch the Pokémon within that game as well as complete the story.

So this spiralled unbelievably out of control.

I called the doctors the other day, explained that I have tunnel vision and worsening anxiety, and that I believe it's a mental health issue but don't know for certain so would like to discuss it with a doctor either over the phone or in person. They said there are no appointments left for today, which I said is totally understandable, and it's not something I need right away as I have dealt with it for a long time, if they could just book me in for a few weeks time, or even a few months time, that's fine, but they said that's not possible, and the only way to get an appointment was to call every day at 8am and try to get one on the day.

A few days now I have tried that but with no luck, so today I decided to try 111, I thought it's a non-emergency and they might be able to just give me advice over the phone. I explained my symptoms, just saying that my tunnel vision is getting much worse whenever I leave the house, then she started asking questions, a lot of which started to point towards mental health.

I have had mental health issues and counselling before, and I'm used to being open with my therapists after years of keeping things bottled up, so when asked if I'm suicidal I said "no", but then she asked if I ever had suicidal thoughts, and I said yes, I have suicidal ideation, to which she had a clear tonal shift and said she needs to get in touch with the mental health crisis line and is about to put me on hold, so I stopped her and said "I have suicidal ideation, I have for years, it comes and goes, I know how to cope with it and would never actually do anything, it's intrusive thoughts kind of thing, can flare up when my anxiety is worse", anyway she goes on to put me on hold for 20 minutes, she comes back on the phone and says I need to go to A&E, am I able to get there, and do I think I will harm myself or anyone else on my way there, do I need transport there, and that I need to get there within 4 hours. I again try to explain my situation a bit better, but alas, I go to A&E.

I go to A&E and wait for about 3 hours after signing in, and man, if I wasn't sure how to explain my anxiety symptoms, that was the perfect place to put me to make literally all of them flare up to 100% lol, it was super full, screaming adults, screaming kids (obviously no judgement there, just explaining the surroundings) and considering I get anxiety in general public places, somewhere as frantic as that is obviously going to make them worse, and I'm stood basically in the middle of the room as there's nowhere to sit and people leaning on the walls.

I'm spiralling in my head a bit at this point, worried about whether they think I'm suicidal and they won't let me leave. I google various things (the number 1 thing not to do in panic mode lol) about what would happen if I left A&E before being seen if it's for a mental health issue (as my anxiety was FULL ON at this point and I just wanted to be alone), , to which I see things that say the police might come to the house and take you back, and other things about going to A&E, having a psychiatric assessment and being kept in some ward. I realise I'm spiralling and put my phone on airplane mode and just read the subtitles that are on the TV, which happens to be Dragons Den (that show is on a real decline, man).

I get called into triage and am finally able to explain the whole situation a lot better. The triage person there said she thinks it's a mental health issue, as if it was a physical sight condition my optician would have picked up on it. It's not something A&E can deal with, but she also can see it's not any immediate danger and I'm clearly just having a worse time than usual, and that I should get in touch with my doctors and "demand to have an appointment booked in for a few weeks time". I then explained what had happened when trying to do that previously and she said that I must insist that I get an appointment and that they will eventually cave.

Anyway, they said I'm fine to go home and to book the appointment when I can, so thankfully I only ended up spending 3/4 hours there. I'm home now and just relieved to be sat here on my laptop lol. I will follow their advice and get an appointment booked in, and in the meantime just try to relax for a bit and not inadvertently get myself fucking sectioned or something. It's getting myself into situations like this which is WHY I go so long not asking for help, I feel like I can't explain myself to people properly without me downplaying it and getting totally dismissed or not explaining it well and having it blown out of proportion.

I'm just glad I got a taxi there and didn't tell anyone at the time, so I haven't had to cause any drama with friends or family over what ended up being nothing. But yeah, instead of getting help for my mental health from 111 today I basically got given a fucking anxiety endurance test lol.

It's better to say something than suffer in silence though, dude. I feel you, mate. If you did want a bit of a chat or something, I'm here. I have Discord now as well and know a bit better on how to work it than I did before, haha.

  5. I have two episodes left...I think...

    Spoiler

I wanted Zack to go so badly. He was quite annoying in the end. Jumping down people's throats and interrupting them all of the time. Andrew was also equally annoying. Learn to play the game, fool. I literally didn't like Paul at all. I just found him to be smarmy. Harry is the only likeable person who respects the game and plays it well and I hope he wins it all. He plays it for survival and I can respect that because I wouldn't have trusted the others either. At the moment, it's just him and Andrew.

The Faithfuls are so easily swayed that it's scary.

Also, am I the only one who thought it was obvious that Diane and Ross were related? They literally look like each other. First thing I said when they spoke was that they could be related 🤣

If I do, it'll be the first time I'll go to the cinema by myself.

I nearly always go by myself and I love it. It's literally a bit of me-time. If I go with someone, they have to be like-minded and there's only two people who are the same as me. I hate being interrupted during a movie with stupid shit. Reactions are cool but I hate running commentaries where someone tells you what just happened 3 seconds after you've just seen it on screen.

The 2nd US season? Because the first one sucked balls.

The 2nd Australian season isn't too bad, about 5 episodes in. The team dynamic is interesting.

I didn't mind the US one. At least there was a bit of personality there. The first Australian one was great. The traitors in that season were awesome. Our one feels rather vanilla compared. They're starting to liven up a little though but honestly, it's blatantly obvious who the traitors would be apart from Harry and the vet. Paul is non-stop smirking and smarmy. Not a big fan.

  8. So I'm late to the party and I haven't read a thing as I've only started watching it. The US one has kind of taken over for me and the new Australian one is a bit meh. I'm hoping our one gets better because they're bland and too friendly at the moment and it's very petty. Like "I think you're a traitor because you breathe oxygen and that's a red flag"...come on! Although it needs to be said that the editing in the show is a bit weird. Like I'm on episode 3 and someone is getting voted off and before they reveal who they are, they end the episode on the cliffhanger...why? We know their alliances, we know they're getting booted off...what's the cliffhanger for?

  9. I have seen the worst movie of 2023 in my opinion: Sumotherhood.

It just wasn't funny and it felt rather dated. Every character was annoying and loud for the sake of cheap laughs that didn't hit most of the time. A couple of scenes were pretty funny but then became too long and instantly became bland.

I think this might've been funny in the early or later 2000s but in 2023, I don't think it works...

Looking at a random Pot Noodle it in itself is not terrible but obviously could be better, and probably not great to have every day and it will depend what else you're eating and doing in the day.

Obviously the one you're eating may be slightly different but there's 10g of saturated fats in that and men are recommended 30g per day. Also quite a bit of salt but honestly try finding pre-packaged food that ain't.

If you want food that is satiating try and go for some complex carbs (wholegrain breads, rice, pasta, noodles etc) and unsaturated fats (avocado, olive oils, peanuts, brazil nuts, almonds - although with nuts bear in mind a few is all you need). Complex carbs burn slower so keep you full longer, but don't have the instant hit (and crash) of uncomplex carbs like sugars. Fats are more satiating and unsaturated fats are better for you for that reason.

If you can meal prep why not try knocking up some chicken burritos, freezing them and either defrosting the night before or lightly grilling every day? Or salads (yes yes, you don't win friends) with some cold meat and topped with some chopped almonds and olive oil. Or pep buddha bowls as they offer great versatility. If you google there's many examples but a Mexican-style one could be black beans, sweetcorn, quinoa, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, meat of choice and some avocado. You can prep all that (save the avocado) in advance.

Appreciate you mentioned it has to be cheap but often if you meal prep it can work out cheaper in the long run as a Pot Noodle is what, 80p-£1.20 depending on size/brand?

So the one I have is "ramen noodles". I put it in boiling water and then microwave for 5 minutes, basically. It's like Pot Noodle but honestly has a different texture and tastes better. I just wasn't sure if it was wise to have it for lunch every day. I've just been fed up with soups and salads and wanted something different. I did have some frozen meals but thought I'd try something different. I picked them up and they've kept me full.

I'll have a look at maybe looking into making salads more interesting. It's getting colder though so preferably something warm would be better.

  11. So I've been asked to be something I'd never dream I'd ever be asked but here we are. I've been asked to be a Godfather. I'm off to change my name to Don Corleone now 😂

Seriously though, like I don't know how this works because I'm not religious and they're aware of this but they said I'd be perfect and they really want me to do it. I also don't know what it is I need to do. Like, I've been to a Christening once and it was about 2 hours of talking and then they just stood up and was like "I do" when asked...is that all there is? Do I need to sign or fill anything in? Do I have to be religious?

Like, it's so nice being asked and I'd love to do it...

  12. Spoiler

I swear Nezuko best be alive because I will SLAP your tits off if she buuuurns!!

I'm not even kidding. Me during that final episode of Demon Slayer! I was on an emotional rollercoaster with it. Death Note is still the greatest anime show I've seen so far but Demon Slayer was amazing.

I decided on watching Psycho Pass now. I'm on episode 5 and I am HOOKED! I'm on the whole chatroom episodes and it's got me on the edge of my seat! The new movie is in cinemas in August so I hope I can watch them all by then!

It kinda is. I'm about 4-5 episodes in, and the challenges are completely different to the UK and it's piss poor clone US remix. So a huge improvement and worth watching. This time they compete for "bars of SoLiD sIlVeR", and for some reason the producers appear to be of the mindset that legal minds are best. About a third of them have law related jobs... Does it have any benefit? Watch and find out.

@darksnowman get in on the action, @killthenet and @WackerJr. You too

Going to your previous point about the US one...

I don't know about the second season, but winner deserved of first? Hell naw.

Nah, she played that cool. She knew the game inside out. I respected that. Heck, I even remember who it even was and I forgot the other winner in the Australian one (I watched it but forgot to post about it here. I'll wait until you've all finished)

Given Meta's love of harvesting data (I have an Instagram account so I know it's no different, but don't feel the need to go deeper), the fact your timeline is a mess of people you don't follow and not in chronological order and the fact if you remove your account you remove your Instagram account too I'm just not going to bother. I feel like I need less social media, not more.

I've tried to do this as someone told me about this but I was able to deactivate Threads and still keep IG

If you're that curious about if you can touch your toes rest your hands on your thighs and slide them down your legs (as you bend forward obviously) until you reach a pain point. It's a bit more controlled. But I'd still say when it comes to your back its best to be over cautious because if you fuck that up you really fuck it up. Maybe even give yourself a week away from the gym.

The good news is that most of the soreness is gone. It's when I bend back that I feel it now. I touched my toes sitting down and had no pain. Stood and did it and no pain. Twisted both ways and got nothing. I just feel a soreness bending back so it's not 100% yet. I'm hoping it'll be fine after a couple of days.

Deadlift really hits the lower back when done correctly so it makes sense that you feel it there. If it really is DOMS, then you probably just overdid it - a rule of thumb is that if you have DOMS for more than 3 days, it was too much for your current state.

Anyways, heat, massage, and light exercise without weights to loosen it up should help, along with some gentle stretching.

It's been over 3 days now. It feels better than it did though. I still feel it but it's definitely improving. I woke up this morning and didn't feel it so much. I've done what you've said and it helped. I've done walking and put a hot water bottle on it and that helped. I hate massages though (I know, I'm weird). I was told by a couple of people who are a pharmacist and a nurse to "stagger" paracetamol with ibuprofen so I might try that.

On 24/05/2023 at 10:56 AM, Ashley said:

You can't really "quickly" recover from something, you can just mitigate making it worse and doing things to help ease the pain. I'm by no means an expert so look into it but my first instinct would be heat (bath, sauna etc) and light stretching, preferably when your body is warm so it's looser. Obviously don't try and touch your toes, but just some light movement in all directions to get your lower back moving. Maybe even an osteopath if you're concerned.

It's weird because I've been told the same thing about touching toes but I have the urge to to see if it's gone 😂 the stretching has helped so much appreciated for that advice.

    A bath with some Radox?

Radox weirdly doesn't work with me. I've tried different ones before and it doesn't touch me. I've been putting in ibuprofen gel and was told to do some stretches too. I've just woke up now and it's like a stiffness. I remember having this before but I completely forgot about it. It's supposed to take a couple of weeks to get over but I'm like 😒 because I'm already over it! 😅

  18. I did rather heavy deadlifts and a 3 hour bike ride on Sunday. On Sunday, I was okay but from Monday, my lower back was aching. Like a DOMS-sort of ache. It's okay walking and stuff but if I pick something up from the ground or slouch or something, I feel it (if it makes sense). It's worse when I wake up because I sleep in the same position for hours. I haven't felt that in ages. You guys have any advice on how to recover quick from it? I'm going to take a couple of days away from working out.
