  1. General Switch Discussion

Would love to see a Smash Bros remake. As someone who missed out on Wii/Wii U, the more ports the better, I don't care! Also thought I'd share my overall experience of having the Switch for about 3 weeks now: Hardware: beautiful. When I saw my colleagues in the office with theirs and held it for the first time, it feels good in the hand and looks the business. Buttons are a bit clicky for me but they get the job done. Thankfully haven't had any issues with joycon connectivity/dead pixels. Software: erm not alot to say apart from Zelda BOTW. However I gotta say that I despised the game for the opening few hours. Having been used to games on PS4 which really hold your hand, I really struggled to get on with the game. However, I always knew it was just a case of getting used to the game and now with over 20 hrs gone, I am enjoying it a whole lot more. Bring on Mario Kart and more indie games Worries: battery life. Having a 'console' run on battery power I do worry about how the battery will hold up this time next year. If its anything like my current smartphone (Nexus 6P), battery life just gets steadily worse and I know this is a trend among most smartphones. i'm hoping the battery doesn't deteriorate all too much. Side note: Had to mention the Pro Controller. IT'S A THING OF BEAUTY. I didn't think I'd fall in love with the controller so much but it just feels perfect. Going back to the PS4's DS4 just felt cheap, weird and odd. Yes it's expensive but for me, worth every penny Overall: I've really enjoyed the Switch. Over this Easter period, I've taken it with me to the English countryside (Worcestor) and its truly been a pleasure being able to grind a few shrines and just explore the world of BOTW in my downtime. Just goes to show that Nintendo have really nailed the concept of the console - its a success. Now they just need to build on this solid foundation and flesh out the software library/calendar a little more. Judging by the sales figures, I'm glad I'm one of many who have enjoyed this system. Onwards and upwards!
  2. Star Wars Battlefront 2 (all eras)

That is indeed a great trailer. Personally the multiplayer only approach never appealed to me but a single player campaign? Sign me up please. Looks amazing. Genuinely felt sexual after watching that trailer ha!
  3. Horizon: Zero Dawn

Glad to see you guys are enjoying it too! I've been off work sick for the past week and have put in 25 hours so far. Combat is literally exhilarating , the best part of the game for sure. Love all the different machines you come across, really forces you to mix it up and use different strategies depending on what you're fighting. If I was perfectly honest, I didn't expect GG to come up with the goods on this game but they really have pulled it off. Bravo!
  4. Amazon Kindle

You made the right decision my friend. My brother has the Voyage and there really isn't much to it compared to my Paperwhite.
  5. Resident Evil VII

Absolutely loving the game so far. Definitely the scariest game I've ever played. So so tense and despite comments about the bosses, I've actually really enjoyed them! A massive, massive return to form. Bravo Capcom!
  6. General Movie Thread

Just saw Paterson....wanted to like it but did anyone else find this mind numbingly boring? Glad to see Arrival getting love here. Really enjoyed it!
  7. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Just finished the SP campaign and loved every minute. Great game, well done to the peeps at IW.
  8. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

So I just started playing this game today and I must say I'm very impressed with the SP campaign mode. Absolutely brilliant opening few missions. The graphics are absolutely incredible and the facial expressions/voice acting is up there with the best I've seen (who needs a PS4 Pro - PAH). While graphics are good, the gameplay feels super tight. Just the feel of the guns and the sound...everything just feels good you know. Runs like a dream too. Seamless integration between ground and air combat which also helps mix things up a bit. All in all, very pleasantly surprised. Haven't taken to a COD game this much since Advanced Warfare. Bravo!
  9. Dishonored 2

Keen to get this on sale. Too many games to play at the mo! Also keen to read the reviews once they start dropping. No doubt this will be excellent.
  10. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided [PS4, PC XOne]

So I managed to get a cheap copy on ebay and not having the greatest of times with it. Loved HR on the last generation but as a lot of you have mentioned, the controls are really loose. No confidence moving Jensen around and everything feels a little clunky. Some of the graphics completely destroy the immersion for me...cut scenes are so wooden and dry I find myself cutting characters short just to get through the scene quicker. Will give it another session later on today but so far, not great.
  11. Titanfall 2 (PS4/PC/XBO)

I'll deffo be picking this up next week. Reviews have been great and the fact that Respawn aren't going down the season pass route (i.e. all DLC is free) is wonderful and should be applauded! Both SP and MP look very good indeed. BF1 and COD to be picked up when they're closer to the £20 mark.
  12. HAAALLOWWEEEEEENNN

Normally don't bother with Halloween but some people at work are putting up a party and have forced me to go. I'm going dressed as Pablo Escobar ha!
  13. Netflix

Finished Luke Cage last week and it was rubbish. Waste of my time. Forgettable.
  14. Pro Evolution Soccer 2017

I have both PES and FIFA. I've only played 2 full matches on PES and enjoyed what I've played. Matches were fun and managed to score some beautiful goals (if I say so myself). However with (literally) all my friends on FIFA, I haven't touched PES...which is a shame but thats what you get for falling behind the competition for the past 6-7 years. Konami remind me of Nokia in the smartphone industry. Once, great pioneers and leading the pack but have fallen away in light of better competition.
  15. Rise of the Tomb Raider

If you enjoyed the first, it's more of the same - deffo pick it up! In saying that there is one thing that is pretty annoying - aiming. Seems I waste half a round shooting around my enemy before managing a hit. Controls are a bit iffy, could be tighter! Minor criticism though. Great, great game.
  16. Rise of the Tomb Raider

28% done so far. Did the Baba Yaga DLC last night which was decent. Nice boss battle. Back to the main story!
  17. Rise of the Tomb Raider

Just started playing this tonight and put in a solid 4 hour session (which is ALOT for me). Cleared the first 3 areas of the game and I'm loving it. I was slightly apprehensive about this as I enjoyed the remaster ALOT and doubted whether this could live up to that. So far, so good. I've come across a few people who have mentioned the combat and voice acting is below par but I don't think they're bad at all - definitely above average for the gaming industry. BIG FAN OF THIS. Looking forward to putting in ALOT more time into this throughout the rest of the week. WOO
  18. Rise of the Tomb Raider

Jealous of you guys who have been playing this since last week! I will have to make do pre loading my copy for tomorrow hahah
  19. Netflix

On episode 9 of Luke Cage. The series has picked up but still can't stand some of the acting and background music choices. Comes nowhere near Jessica Jones and Daredevil in my humble opinion.
  20. Self Improvement

-Learning to teach English as a foreign language (started the course just today) -Improving my maths skills (embarrassing right now) -Fitness (trying to improve my PB for my next half marathon) Should really look into improving my presentation skills. The nerves! Eurgh.
  21. Netflix

You didn't like Jessica Jones?! OMG. One of my faves. Finished episode 3 of Luke Cage tonight and again, thought it was decent!
  22. Netflix

Agree with a couple of your points. Pacing is pretty slow but what's there, I find enjoyable and don't find dialogue too corny. I do find some of the characters to be extremely laughable (Shades). Borders on being laughable. Haha and yes I do want to see him punch more things too! Not enough action although what happened in ep 2 was pretty good (if predictable). Agreed on the smaller characters being terrible actors. They're not great but not bad enough to detract from enjoying the series so far. One other point from me: when starting the series I didn't really have high expectations so maybe I'm a little more forgiving about the show's shortcomings. Regardless, looking forward to the next episode.
  23. Fifa 17

It's weird, I'm not that bothered with this or PES this year. I tried the demo and it doesn't feel all too different from 16. Could easily skip this version I feel and I normally get this every year!
  24. Rise of the Tomb Raider

I did just that. Pre ordered this and got the remastered original for free. So so good replaying that and I'm not usually a fan of replaying games in general. Really looking forward to next week!
  25. Pro Evolution Soccer 2017

You're kidding surely?! The penalty system is awful IMO. It was perfectly fine before, I don't understand why they changed it....
